I am going to roam all over the map, so to speak, and try to give fairly short answers on a number of topics and also give you useful links to articles that will help you deal with any particular issue. It is truly amazing how many false ideas people cling to without giving a thought to what the Bible has to say on the subject.” ♦ –A Whole Lot Of Wishful Thinking These Days –

My response and 2c worth.
You see here is the lost sheep who attend these non biblical churches which are going up like mushrooms and growing hourly and the money is flowing in more, more, more. The sheep are not told to really study and learn the Word of God or about discernment, instead they are told to concentrate on the prophesy, miracles, signs and wonders happening. This forms a huge part of the false churches new happenings and revivals. The sheep are so caught up in this there will obviously be no time to study the Word of God. Satan is achieving his goal to keep man away from the Word of God.
The sheep are taught only certain scriptures, that are used by these teachers and drilled into the sheep. Now the sheep will claim to be attacked, emmotionally run down, accused, spiritually blackmailed, judged, and more, if they are confronted by the true Gospel. Now, it is only human to feel weak, when you know , you have not studied for an exam, when you fail this exam, one would also feel these emotions. Yes.
Now the false teachers will come and twist the words against the watchmen and discernment ministries. The teachers are being lead by false spirits to protecting thier sheep. The new weapon that will be used against watchmen and discerment ministries is, being called pharisees.
Scripture that comes to mind here.
Luke 18:6-8 (New International Version)
6And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
We can only watch and pray. Believe in Jesus as our only saviour and cherish his Words in the Bible and hold fast onto our believes. We are also to pray for all those who are being deceived and the teachers.
Blessings

John Macarthur says that Christians are to be separate from the world? Then why are his ministries partnering with foreign governments, UN-NGO member orgs, WCC members, and why has Macarthur invited change agents into his church who have brought in the Purpose Driven paradigm? If Macarthur wants Christians to separate from the world, then why did he invite Al Mohler to speak at his Shepherd’s Conference; a man who leads two UN-NGO’s and has signed the Manhattan Declaration? Dr. Voddie Bachman has some good points, is a gifted communicator, but he is a staunch 5-point Calvinist – that is a fact which he clearly believes is biblical.
He holds to some rather unusual beliefs concerning the family. For instance, when a son reaches his teens he believes the mother’s role is essentially over.
Though one should certainly give him the benefit of the doubt, there are those who are concerned, not only about the Reformed/Calvinism, but other issues that stem from this and are impacting others. Some think his teaching has been a source of division within the church. A perusal of his website will show that he adheres to some unbalanced views and apparently believes in a closed fellowship, open only to those who share the beliefs. Children are not welcome unless accompanied by parents.
He is popular in homeschooling circles. Rightly so,parents have concerns about what is being presented in the public school. But according to some, this has resulted in some cases an elitist attitude over those who opt for public education. In fact, it has been reported that in some cases parents do not allow their older children to fellowship with others in the church body but withhold them from participation in Sunday School and other activities sponsored by the church to keep them separate from children who are not homeschooled.
This is certainly not a healthy mindset to instill in children. Parents should carefully test and weigh what they hear from popular speakers in regards to raising their children.
Not to imply that all Calvinists behave in this way, but the emphasis on evangelism is diminished due to the belief of Irrestible Grace and Predestination/Election with no regard to free will.
Burning Lamp
Yeah, that is exaclty what I thought too. All he is asking the question is WHY? I will spend time tomorrow going through all this stuff and email bob. “How is it possible for the Church to transform society when society rejects the Gospel, classifying it as hate crime? It can’t. Yet to listen to the claims of many post modern Christians, we are about to experience a massive outpouring of Holy Spirit power which will lead to whole communities turning away from crime and being delivered from social ills. Will it be in spite of local authority noise abatement measures, complaints from the local Mosque, and intimidation by the Homosexual community? Apparently so.” ♦ –Transformation and the Illegal Gospel–

Just in case you were wondering what happened to my blog for a few hours. I was taken down by some Christians who thought it necessary to stop me.
See I am not a change agent and wont meet for coffee and this is a BIG problem for them. My problem is I don’t drink coffee…oh and that their intentions are purely 100% false.
I will write a small article tomorrow called ‘the coffee shop next door’. I knew this cool title would come in use sooner or later.

“Demons cast out of Christians are not seen in the scriptures. Neither are they left over from the old life nor new occupants. The scripture absolutely militates against this. We are the temple of God not of both God and the devils emissaries. What a confusion for those involved in binding their own personal demon spirits.God does not sleep on the job, nor has he put his protection in our hands and strength. We are to be strong in the grace of the Lord not be paranoid of the enemy. The consequences of believing one is possessed can certainly be even more devastating than actually being inhabited. The focus than shifts from actually dealing with the problem and taking responsibility for one actions to blaming it on a unseen enemy a demon which is not even there. The lie of having the demon can be just as bad and what one really needs deliverance from is the lie of being inhabited with so called possession. Deliverance ministries are conducted in various forms from personal counseling to group deliverance’s. This consists of people walking around the room and led to people by the spirit speaking to them. They then lay their hands on them and call out the head strongman first and the rest eventually follow. Names such as Leviathan, spirits of anger, jealousy and religious spirits are called out. Ancestral curses are broken also. All these so called demons are listed as works of the flesh that we all are still capable of doing. Deliverance books are written like psychological manuals that claim that if one follows this methodology they will be successful, with the help of the Lord of course. Much of what is derived in these books is from personal experiences which are outside Biblical parameters and certainly not mentioned in Scripture.” ♦ –In Considering Deliverance Ministries & DEMON POSSESSION–

I have spend quite some time yesterday and today reading so many of your posts.
The number of false teachings/ministries are so many, I don’t know by when I will be able to read all of it.
Do you perhaps have a “safe-list” of ministries/teachings that one can trust and/or attend in the meantime? (specifically in the Pretoria area)
I see David Pawson is visiting SA, is it safe to attend?
Warmest regards and blessings!

Thanks for the reply, I distanced myself from traditional church attandance more than two years ago, and am concentrating on scripture and my personal relationship. I just want to check that I understand your comment correctly. Do I make the correct assumption that after all your reading and research you have yet to find a “safe” teacher/ministry/church in Pretoria that you can recommend to someone? I never thought that it was that serious of a problem. Gauteng or any other province maybe?
Arnold,
Well I don’t live Pretoria. You can try Jacob Prasch ministry they are in Waverly JHB I think. There is the Honeyridge baptist church in Randburg somewhere that I think might still be ok. Just checked the website, looks a bit PD to me. I know at one stage they were having iron-men meetings during the time Angus was doing his MMC thing. I used to recommend people go to Grace Church (MacArthur’s church plant) in Pretoria, but now I don’t recommend it. If you chose to go to any church (one that seems ok that is), just put on your neon flashing radar feelers. Listen to what’s being preached, listen to the Holy Spirit and walk away from another lesson learnt in the new lies preached at church.
Ask Elmarie she will be able to give you a heads-up on apostasy state of Pretoria. I think last time I checked with her, it was not good.

“New Calvinism draws legions to the sermons of preachers like John Piper of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis. Here at CHBC, the pews and even rooms in the basement are filled each Sunday, mostly with young professionals. Since senior pastor Mark Dever brought Calvinist preaching here 16 years ago, the church has grown sevenfold. Today it is bursting at the stained-glass windows.Yet the movement’s biggest impact may not be in the pews. It’s in publishing circles and on Christian blogs, in divinity schools and at conferences like “Together for the Gospel,” where the rock stars of Reformed theology explore such topics as “The Sinner Neither Able Nor Willing: The Doctrine of Absolute Inability.”"There is a very clear resurgence of Calvinism,” says Steven Lemke, provost and a professor at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.” ♦ –Christian faith: Calvinism is back In America’s Christian faith, a surprising comeback of rock-ribbed Calvinism is challenging the Jesus-is-your-buddy gospel of modern evangelism.–
Yes,there seems to be a resurgence of Calvinism. As I am struggling to get a clearer understanding of this doctrine…I am left perplexed to the point of depression. Three of my friends have recently revealed that they are Calvinist.
Does anyone have a theory as to why this resurgence? We know that satan is involved. However, I also believe that my friends are christians, yet, I did not fall into this trap
and, they have become ensnared.
As a christian, I witness to others believing John 3:16 , and other Bible passages relating to forgiveness to the world, of ALL who believe, confess and repent. This changes everything! This may be rudimentary to most that are familiar with Calvinism, but I am just getting acquainted. Thank GOD, I was SAVED before I really knew much about it.

The problem is predestination and thinking one is chosen by God to be saved. You have the chosen and the never to be chosen. You can go your whole life trying to be a saint only to find out in the end you were not on the list. Terrible.
So what has happened is that people who are coming out of the Emerging church and people coming out of the Word of Faith movement are now looking toward Calvinism as it sounds extremely biblical but the message of predestination is what actually changes the entire basis of this ‘gospel’ and makes it actually a very terrible message.
Calvinism never removed itself from some of the horrible ideas in the Roman Catholic church. You can also read this article. http://www.discerningtheworld.com/category/reprobate-without-hope-of-salvation/
Thanks for the information Deborah.
Two of my friends recently left the Vineyard Church Movement….and gravitated to Calvinism. When we last got togather, I gave them a CD that I got from the Berean Call on what Reformed Theology was all about.I also know that my friends husband loves the Mcarthur Bible.
Ironically, it was after accepting an invitationn to visit the Vineyard Church they were attending last year, at about this time (Easter)That my heart was heavy with concern for both friends and their lack of spiritual discernment…I expressed this to both of them over Easter dinner in a loving way.
My family and I went on vacation the following day,but I couldn’t relax and enjoy myself having just discovered that both of my friends were in a circus church.(Did I mention there was an adult dressed as an Easter Bunny greeting everyone.) My GOD,who is faithful heard my cries and prayers for my friends and he answered speedily. Shortly after our vacation, my friend called and said she had left the Vineyard Church…Thank GoD! . Now,after that unpleasant experience ,another vile experience is about to unfold, because their new church embraces the Calvinist Doctrine…I don’t think they have totally embraced it yet..Please help me in my prayers for them.
I will read all of the links that was sent…My family and I are off on vacation. (Yes, I am crying for my friends on this vacationn also.)

He could well be underestimating the sheer determination of the “colleagues” to pursue their integration agenda. The prospect of a “terminal crisis” is precisely the type of beneficial crisis which gives them their power.” ♦ –A train wreck coming–
“Addressing then the supine response of the Christians in this country, large numbers of whom intend to go out on polling day and vote “Conservative” (or even Labour), Warner notes that they have not made the connection between their supine support of their persecutors and the escalating crusade against their religion.” ♦ –Organised hypocrisy–
“Jonathan Leake in The Sunday Times picks up on the news that the size of the Arctic ice cap has increased sharply to levels not seen since 2001, putting the ice extent two days ago almost at the average level for 1979-2000. Given the enthusiasm the media have shown for reporting Armageddon claims about the retreat of the ice, it is significant that his is the only such report in today’s batch of newspapers – although The Daily Mail covered it briefly yesterday.” ♦ –A “death spiral” for warmists–

Jakes and Communion at ‘A Table Set for Two.’”” ♦ –Emerging Evangelical Idolatry –

“When older people ask me nowadays why we stopped reading Exodus 20 in church on Sundays, I just ask them to recite the Ten Commandments right there on the spot. Up to date nobody could do this, in spite of hearing this very text 52 times a year for 20-30 years! Little effect, I say!” ♦ –That song–
“Ons het so pas die afgelope naweek die dood en opstanding van ons Here Jesus Christus herdenk. Maar wat beteken dit vir ons in ons alledaagse lewe? Hoe raak dit ons daaglikse lewe? Dit is sekerlik goed om sy dood en opstanding jaarliks te vier maar as dit nie in ons lewens uitkristaliseer nie, beteken dit net mooi niks nie. Die vraag is: Hoe moet Jesus Christus se dood en opstanding in ons lewens uitkristaliseer?” ♦ –Gebrokenheid–
