The Kuyper Calvinism of Rick Warren

Rick WarrenThe Calvinism of Rick Warren

by Brenda Nickel Friday, 25 November 2011 –

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Community Church in Lake Forest, California often finds himself at the center of controversy for joining hands with those of questionable doctrine and practice. One of the more surprising partnerships in recent years is his attachment to Calvinism and not just any Calvinism but what he cleverly calls “Kuyper Calvinism.” His switch to Calvinism has made for some interesting bedfellows as people on both sides of the issue are now related to one another and trying to manage their new found “cousins” in their family.

Albert Mohler

Rick Warren’s shift to Calvinism was officially announced in 2007 when he was accepted into the membership of Together for the Gospel (T4G), a Calvinist organization that began with conservative Calvinists Ligon Duncan, Mark Dever, Al Mohler and C. J. Mahaney for the purpose of promoting Calvinism’s core “Doctrines of Grace” (aka TULIP). Warren released a statement explaining his association with T4G shortly after his acceptance saying, “I know this is going to be difficult for many to accept, but in the famous words of Martin Luther ‘My conscience is captive to the word of God!’ I look forward to building relationships with those with whom I have disagreed for so long. I am excited to now be a part of the Together for the Gospel team.” While this was Rick Warren’s “coming out” event, it’s not his first mention of Calvinism. He’s apparently held to the sovereign predestining purposes of God for some time.

Rick Warren – Islam’s Useful Idiot, a Dhimmi or Both?

Rick Warren spoke at the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) national conference

Islam -The 2009 Islamic Society Convention

Based in Plainfield, [Illinois — not Indiana, as In Plain Site say], the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is an umbrella organization for Muslim groups across the country. The annual convention, now in its 46th year, regularly draws more than 30,000 people for lectures, prayer and socializing.

On Saturday, July 4th 2009 attendees of the 46th annual convention, with the Theme of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, were addressed by Rick Warren of Saddleback church who told them that “the two largest faiths on the planet must work together to combat stereotypes and solve global problems”, and  “Some problems are so big you have to team tackle them,”

Rick Warren to host ex-British Prime Minister Tony Blair

srcset=Understand the Times said; “A commentary regarding the coming great meeting with Tony Blair and Rick Warren, March 6, 2011, will be published soon on Lighthouse Trails’ website and written by Roger Oakland. For now, it can be said, this alliance is what it is.

Anyone with half a clue should be able to discern that there is no gospel in doing good, and that Rick Warren’s peace plan is the one found in the Bible regarding the last days that sets up the Antichrist. Warren and Blair both seem to be bent on working with the pope in order to establish the Kingdom along with Glen Beck, Sarah Palin and some in Calvary Chapel who believe that the American Founding Fathers were Christians and therefore America is a Christian nation.

Such nonsense is being promoted by people like David Barton who is toted by some as the savior of America.

Warren and Blair along with the President of Rwanda are on the same board to establish the first Purpose Drive nation. It will not be long now until they will be establishing the 666 plan to establish the New World Order, the One World Religion and the One World Economy.”

Chuck Smith from Calvary Chapel entertains Rick Warren

srcset=This might be slightly old news, but I am bringing it up again because it seems that Chuck Smith (Calvary Chapel) is an ‘untouchable’.  Everything he does wrong, that goes against the Bible and being a Christian, when it is exposed, no matter what he does gets swept under the carpet. Well that time has come to an end.

In 2006, Chuck Smith denounced the teachings of Rick Warren:

“The teachings and positions of Rick Warren have come into conflict with us at Calvary Chapel. Pastor Chuck has directed us to discontinue this product [Purpose Driven Life] effective immediately.”  —

In 2009 Chuck Smith introduced Rick Warren as my good friend who pastors Saddleback Church at a Calvary Chapel’s 20-year anniversary called “Harvest Crusade” (16 Aug 09).   Chuck Smith asked Rick Warren to lead in prayer.

Rick Warren’s New Health and Wellness Initiative Could Have Profound Repercussions on Many

Just ten days after Lighthouse Trails posted its last and most important article of 2010, Rick Warren’s “Apologetics” Weekend Should Apologize for Representing “Another Gospel,” we must issue this Special Report regarding a year-long event that will be kicking off at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church on January 15th.

Near the end of 2010, Rick Warren announced that Saddleback Church would be entering “a Decade of Destiny.” He told his congregation that they would be focusing on several key areas, one of them being “health and wellness.” The “Daniel Challenge” or the “Daniel Plan” is Saddleback’s new health “initiative.”  On Saddleback’s website, it states:

Gods’ Prescription For Your Health

Be a part of this transformational debut to be a healthier you!

John Piper – Oh those ‘Secondary Separation Issues’!

John PiperI’ve been looking for an example in the bible of this thing called ‘Secondary Separation issues’ that John Piper is now actually bulling his followers with.  And I can’t find one.

You see, no where in the bible did Jesus or the disciples socialise with people who they knew were false Christians.  In fact they stayed far away from them because of the DAMAGE these people do.

John Piper fails to understand that he has compromised the gospel of Jesus Christ by hanging with Rick Warren.  This is not a school friendship where they meet every now and then and play board games on Sundays, no, they are Pastors which means that when they meet they will be to speak theology to each other.  Unfortunately Rick Warren has won round one of infiltrating John Piper’s camp.

John in the video is telling us he wants positivity around him (love, humility and unity) and he is tired of being enemies with people.   But it’s not about being enemies, it’s about the GOSPEL TRUTH John Piper!  And how much of it have you compromised?  Well so far you have done well to fall for the cosmic Christ that Rick Warren follows.  I pray you wake up soon before it’s too late.

John Piper – Taking Leave and Asks for Forgiveness

John Piper And Rick Warren

I saw this article and just had to post it.  John Piper!!  Please tell us soon as to what you are asking forgiveness for.  I understand 30 years of ministry can take it’s toll and your deeds and character flaws are not what’s concerning to us, or want to know about.  It’s what you have been preaching (Calvinism) and who you have been siding with that we want to hear you say sorry for.

I pray that whatever is happening in your life that Jesus Christ the Son of God is renewing your relationship with Him that it will be unstoppable!  And that you come back 8 months from now a NEW man in Jesus Christ, with a STAND for the TRUTH that will knock the socks off everyone!   IF NOT, then no amount of prayer from anyone is going to help you, if you don’t see you are following false doctrine.  Also what’s the point of asking everyone to pray for you when you can have thousands of people praying for you who are not even saved.  Who will they be praying too on your behalf?  But you should know these things, you are the pastor after all.

Tony Blair Looks To US Pastor Rick Warren In Bid To Unite Faiths

Tony Blair is preparing to launch a “faith offensive” across the United States over the next year, after building up relationships with a network of influential religious leaders and faith organisations.

According to the annual accounts of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, a UK-based charity that promotes cohesion between the major faiths, the foundation is to develop a US arm that will pursue a host of faith-based projects. The accounts show that his foundation has an impressive – and, in at least one case, controversial – set of faith contacts. Sitting on some £4.5m in funds as of April last year, mostly gathered through donations, it is now well placed to make its voice heard.

The foundation’s advisory council of religious leaders includes Rick Warren, powerful founder of the California-based Saddleback church. It attracts congregations of nearly 20,000 and is reportedly one of the largest in the US. Warren, who has addressed the UN and the World Economic Forum in Davos, has been named one of the “15 world leaders who matter most” and one of the “100 most influential people in the world”.

Lake Forest – Evangelical pastor Rick Warren’s plea for donations to fill a $900 000 deficit at his Southern California megachurch brought in $2.4m, Warren announced to cheers during a sermon at the church on Saturday.

Warren said the amount raised after the appeal was posted online on Wednesday included only money parishioners brought in person to Saddleback Church by New Year’s Eve. More was arriving by hand and by mail, he said.

“This is pretty amazing,” said Warren, who made the announcement by bringing out 24 volunteers each holding a sign for $100 000.

Rick Warren – A Recipe For Disaster

THERE REALLY IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER (see end of this article)

Rick Warren (Purpose Driven Life author) twitted:

“Those who yell their beliefs are trying to convince themselves. Sarcasm often reveals a weak position, guilt, or insecurity.” 9:06 PM Dec 11th 2009
