If ALL have sinned and ALL come short of the glory of God, then Jesus Christ must have died for ALL mankind, and not just for a select few, unless of course, the elect are the only ones who sin and have sinned, which is preposterous, to say the least. MacArthur continued in this dastardly vain tone of erroneous statements when he tried to explain why there is a heaven and a hell.

One of the most poignant and beautiful passages in Scripture, despite the devastating earthquake that shook the prison where Paul and Silas had been incarcerated for their witness of the Gospel of redemption through Jesus Christ, is in Acts 16.

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? (Acts 16:30).

It was no ordinary earthquake. It shook the foundations of the prison so that not only the prison doors were slammed open, but even the chains that shackled the prisoners to their cells were miraculously loosened.

Orbital Hermeneutics by John MacArthur

Orbital Hermeneutics Election PredestinationOrbital Hermeneutics

Once your mind gets hooked or locked onto a central idea or theme in your view of life and the world, everything you say or do will orbit or circle that idea or theme, in much the same way satellites orbit the earth. Hence the title of this article “Orbital Hermeneutics.”

For instance, let’s assume you are a Calvinist and the earth in the picture on the left represents election/predestination/God’s sovereignty, the most common thing you would do then, is to make all your sermons or Gospel presentations circle your mindset of election, predestination and God’s sovereignty.

No matter what you preach to people, your mind will always predictably gravitate towards election, predestination and God’s sovereignty, albeit a warped idea of election, predestination and God’s sovereignty.

As may have been expected, this is precisely what John MacArthur does in his Amazing sermon on Election from Luke 4.

The Enigmatic Mystery – Hypocrisy in Overdrive

John MacArthur and his Mark of the Beast Doctrine

Hypocrisy in Overdrive and the Enigmatic Mystery of Calvinism

Enigmatic Mystery #1

One of the most enigmatic mysteries surrounding the Reformed position (Calvinism) is that most of its champions contradict one another in overdrive most of the time. In his rebuttal of the many Christians’ criticism of John MacArthur’s infamous public statement that it’s OK to take the mark of the beast because Jesus will pardon and save you, Phil Johnson wrote the following in defense of his guru, John MacArthur.

Revelation 19:20 indicates that multitudes will take the mark of the Beast because they are deceived. Scripture does not say that they are thereby automatically hardened forever against repentance. That is not the point of the strong warnings.

This whole issue suddenly became a matter of intense controversy when it was mentioned on a provocative radio program. It’s certainly not worth all the ink that has been wasted and all the bandwidth that has been consumed by angry people demanding explanations and retractions.

This much should certainly be clear from the biblical text (and I think would be affirmed by all sides): Taking the mark of the Beast is high treason against Christ and will be judged by God accordingly. Meanwhile, the Lord is “good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon [Him]” (Psalm 86:5). (Read here). (Emphasis added).

Though in the minority, there are some preachers and pastors who have not apostatized from the faith once delivered to us by the saints (Jude 1:3). However, there are many who for the sake of love and good relationships compromise their position and thus make them good candidates for apostasy.

I call them preachers who are on the verge of apostasy. Does God approve this kind of behaviour? I don’t think so. Paul wrote:

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10).

Psalm 5 verse 5 – “God Hates Sinners”

Does God Hate SinneresPsalm 5 verse 5 – “God hates sinners”

As an introduction I would like to make a statement which at first glance may seem to be extremely offensive to some. However, no one will be able to prove me wrong when it is put to the test under the white hot scrutiny of the Word of God. The statement is this:-

“The Virgin Mary was as much a lost sinner as Cain and Esau despite the fact that she was not a bloodthirsty and devious murderer.”

Roman Catholics maintain that Mary was born without sin and therefore was sinless. In the Apostolic Constitution Ineffabilis Deus, Pope Pius IX wrote that –

“We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.”

Calvinism, The Greatest God-Sent Delusion of all Time

There is a way that seems right but the end thereof are the ways of death – TULIP

I  am deeply and sincerely convinced that Calvinism, also known as Reformed Theology, entrenched in the acronym T U L I P, is one of the best top ranked and most dangerous deceptions God Himself has sent to judge those who believe in its vile doctrines. Paul announces God’s judgment on all those who dare to misrepresent his Gospel of salvation in 2 Thessalonians 2 verses 8 to 12.

And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by His appearing at His coming.

The coming [of the lawless one, the antichrist] is through the activity and working of Satan and will be attended by great power and with all sorts of [pretended] miracles and signs and delusive marvels-[all of them] lying wonders-

And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing (going to perdition because they did not welcome the Truth but refused to love it that they might be saved.

Therefore God sends upon them a misleading influence, a working of error and a strong delusion to make them believe what is false, In order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe in [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely on] the Truth, but [instead] took pleasure in unrighteousness. John MacArthur – Blood of Jesus Liquid / Never applied in Heaven

John MacArthur - blood of JesusJohn MacArthur declares that the blood of Jesus was just liquid and was never applied in heaven.

Apparently this is all a big mis-understanding.  Apparently John MacArthur was deliberately taken out of context and has had to deal with the consequences ever since.  Why John MacArthur’s recent study bible says the blood of Jesus is liquid (on important verses) is another question.

He claims that some of his more militant critics have allowed their superstition on this matter to get the best of them. During the World Congress on Fundamentalism, which met on the BJU Campus (Bob Jones University), August 4-8, 1986, they passed a resolution declaring that Christ’s actual blood is eternally preserved in heaven, where it is by some mystical means literally applied to each believer.  According to the World Congress, such a rigidly literal view of Christ’s blood is now to be considered a fundamental doctrine of Christianity, and they will break fellowship with anyone who denies it.  [DTW note – Well I would too, because it’s hundred percent true.  But the understanding of the blood of Jesus in heaven has been a biblical doctrine long since standing long before the World Congress on Fundamentalism supposedly laid claim to it.  You see, after Jesus rose from the grave, not even Mary could touch him as he had to remain a spotless lamb – He had not yet ascended to Heaven.

Grace to You John MacArthur - Take Mark of the Beast Repent Be Saved

No Recant – John MacArthur says you can still take the Mark of the Beast…

On the 14 Oct 2013 DTW posted an article exposing John MacArthur and Grace to You Ministries. The fact that John MacArthur teaches that you can take the Mark of the beast during the tribulation and still be saved as biblical truth is because he is a Calvinist.  The doctrine of Calvinism is a false doctrine of epic proportions.

Grace to You has now Responded with a blog post called ‘Unforgivable?’ on the 30 Oct 2013.   They were questioning whether taking the Mark of the Beast during the Tribulation is an unforgivable sin. How PREPOSTEROUS!

Grace to You and John MacArthur still believe one can repent after receiving the Mark of the Beast. NO RECANT. – see below:

John MacArthur – Take Mark of the Beast and Still be Saved

The fact that John MacArthur teaches that you can take the Mark of the beast during the tribulation and still be saved as biblical truth is because he is a Calvinist.  The doctrine of Calvinism is a false doctrine of epic proportions.  Brannon Howse is an ecumenical ministry who will join hands with any minister they feel fit to join hands with.

How many people will take the Mark of the Beast because of what John MacArthur, Jimmy DeYoung, and Brannon Howse said?

John MacArthur and Dallas Willard – Two Contemplating Calvinists

John MacArthur - Dallas WillardLighthouse trails published the below article pointing out that John MacArthur favorably quotes Dallas Willard a Contemplative Spiritualist.  It is important to note that Dallas Willad was a Southern Baptist and his theology was Calvinistic.  He says,

“If you were to get to the bottom of my theology you would find me pretty Calvinistic”  —

So why is John MacArthur quoting Contemplative spirituality so favorably?  Because the roots of Calvinism are ESOTERICAL and founded by the known murderer John Calvin.

John MacArthur Broadcast Favorably Quotes Dallas Willard – Why This is a Bad Move

This past weekend, Lighthouse Trails received the following letter from one of our readers:

Lazarus’ resurrection, an analogy of regeneration? Never!

Lazarus’ resurrection – A Calvinist’s analogy of regeneration

Calvinists often refer to Lazarus’ resurrection as an analogy of regeneration, not of the reprobate who have no John MacArthurchance of ever being saved because Jesus did not die for them on the cross, but the elect only. Their argument runs more or less as follows:

Man is so intensely evil and so totally depraved that he cannot in anyway respond to the Gospel in faith. He hates God and will not come to the light to have his sins and transgressions reproved (John 3:20). As a matter of interest, Calvinists love to quote verses that underscore their doctrines and rarely quote its counterparts which prove the very opposite to what they believe and proclaim. Indeed, men are evil (worthless) but does that render them totally incapable to respond to the Gospel in faith. If so, Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28: ‘Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest’ was nothing but a cruel joke. Why would anyone in his right mind want to come to Jesus to find rest and refreshment for his soul when he is told that he is so utterly depraved that he cannot possibly come to Jesus. It follows that:-

The elect must be resurrected from the dead like unto the resurrection of Lazarus from the grave. God must sovereignly and unilaterally call forth the sinner who is dead in his sins and trespasses and impart his life to the dead cadaver, not through faith because there is no way a corpse can believe, but through an act of irresistible grace.

I want us to listen to a few audio clips to illustrate the meaning of the Calvinistic/electoral/predestined regeneration of man. Listen carefully to what Paul Washer has to say about Lazarus’ resurrection as an analogy of regeneration and see whether you can pinpoint his insidious inaccuracies.
