Thanks for the list. Keep up the good work and may GOD bless you.

  2. John Willems says:

Wow what a list. You might as well put my name on the list too. I’ve written a lot on prayer that you would disagree with.

  3. Word Publish says:

    John Willems

You might as well put my name on the list too. I’ve written a lot on prayer that you would disagree with.

If this is the company you wish to keep we can provide you with the instructions of how you can add your name to this international list.

Why would one write something about prayer if you know Christians will disagree any way it seems futile then doesn’t it?

    subject Thank you

    Hello,

I’m just writing to say thanks for including me on your “List of Authors and Books Not Recommended.” You’ve placed me in some elite company, and I’m proud to be associated with many of the others that populate your list.

It’s always a bit sad to be reminded of how some people are so easily frightened by human difference. You don’t know me, and you have no idea about the depth and/or scope of my relationship to God in Christ Jesus. Nevertheless, you have arbitrarily decided that I am somehow “dangerous” to the faith and/or inauthentic because I am a transgender person who tries to help others. I have great pity for people whose lives are apparently dedicated to the promotion of fear.

Here’s a little quote that may be helpful to you. (It’s from Jesus Christ, and it’s found in Matthew 7:1.) I’m sending it along because it’s fairly obvious that you’re unaware of it–or if you are, that you have chosen to ignore it. Jesus said, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” You might want to think about Christ’s words before you condemn others or their work without even knowing them. You will be in my prayers. (And don’t worry: I don’t plan on contacting you again, so you can relax.)

    Sincerely,

    Vanessa Sheridan

    Dear Vanessa

To be transgender AND a ‘Christian’ violates scripture whether you like it or not. You can’t have your cake and eat it. Please read Sodom and Gomorrah – that’s in the bible if you missed it.

If you were not touting Christianity as a transgender, your book would not be on this list. So your ‘judge not’ attempt does not apply. You think you are doing good, but you are not. This is why you are on this list. Please think about that.

Vanessa also says in her email: You might want to think about Christ’s words before you condemn others or their work without even knowing them.

these Scripture verses comes to mind :
    # 2 John 1:10-11 “If anyone comes to your meeting and does NOT TEACH THE TRUTH ABOUT CHRIST, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. Anyone who encourages such people becomes a PARTNER IN THEIR EVIL WORK.”

Vanessa also says in her email: thanks for including me on your “List of Authors and Books Not Recommended.” You’ve placed me in some elite company, and I’m proud to be associated with many of the others that populate your list.

Vanessa sadly seems not to understand the true content or meaning of Matthew 7:1 and my prayer is that she does come to understand and study the true meaning of the whole of Matthew 7.

And once Vanessa has come to understand the whole of Matt 7 she/he can start reading the rest of the Bible and hopefully, prayerfully come to understand it’s wonderful message of salvation as well.

Thank you so much for your comment. It is very very welcome! Please do not be a stranger.

To be transgendered AND a Christian violates the word of God?? Where does the Bible says that??? You seem to have a mistaken belief that transgendered people commit sodomy and fornication since you make the reference to Sodom and Gomorrah. I highly suggest you do the research. I was born with a deformity and having gender reassignment surgery was the only way I could have a normal life and get married, etc. If your child was born with a birth defect, would you not want him/her to have corrective surgery??

If you think that most transgendered folks are like those on the Jerry Springer show, then you are ill informed and very ignorant. We are in your neighborhood, work place, and yes even in your church, but you would never know it because we are normal.

  10. John

John, John, John… John, having being born with a deformity is NOT the same as Vanessa’s problem. Vanessa is a homosexual, you are not. Please think before you come and comment again.

As Christians We Must Judge Righteously

As Christians we do NOT judge a person life, i.e., sin, because we are all sinners (Matt 7:1). But the Bible does command us to judge fellow Christians teachings and their fruit. We judge/test their teachings/doctrine to make sure it is correct and that it ties up with scripture.

There are many verses in the bible where we are told to JUDGE/TEST:

    ———–

    1 Thessalonians 5:21 (Amplified Bible)

21But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast.

    ———–

    Matthew 7:15-20 (Amplified Bible)

15Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves.

16You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

17Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit.

18A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear [excellent fruit [worthy of admiration].

19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

20Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.

    ———–

    1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (Amplified Bible)

12What [business] of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it not those inside [the church] upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment [passing censuring sentence on them as the facts require]?

13God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from among you [expel him from your church].

    ———–

    1 Corinthians 14:29 (Amplified Bible)

29 So let two or three prophets speak [those inspired to preach or teach], while the rest pay attention and weigh and discern what is said.

    ———–

    John 7:24 (Amplified Bible)

24Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.

    ———–

    Titus 1:9-16 (Amplified Bible)

9He must hold fast to the sure and trustworthy Word of God as he was taught it, so that he may be able both to give stimulating instruction and encouragement in sound (wholesome) doctrine and to refute and convict those who contradict and oppose it [showing the wayward their error].

10For there are many disorderly and unruly men who are idle (vain, empty) and misleading talkers and self-deceivers and deceivers of others. [This is true] especially of those of the circumcision party [who have come over from Judaism].

11Their mouths must be stopped, for they are mentally distressing and subverting whole families by teaching what they ought not to teach, for the purpose of getting base advantage and disreputable gain.

12One of their [very] number, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, hurtful beasts, idle and lazy gluttons.

13And this account of them is [really] true. Because it is [true], rebuke them sharply [deal sternly, even severely with them], so that they may be sound in the faith and free from error,

14[And may show their soundness by] ceasing to give attention to Jewish myths and fables or to rules [laid down] by [mere] men who reject and turn their backs on the Truth.

15To the pure [in heart and conscience] all things are pure, but to the defiled and corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are defiled and polluted.

16They profess to know God [to recognize, perceive, and be acquainted with Him], but deny and disown and renounce Him by what they do; they are detestable and loathsome, unbelieving and disobedient and disloyal and rebellious, and [they are] unfit and worthless for good work (deed or enterprise) of any kind.

    ———–

    1 John 4 (Amplified Bible)

1BELOVED, DO not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

  16. Albert says:

DTW – Julle doen goeie werk – aan almal wat so bekommerd is dat ons nie mag oordeel nie – probeer julle se dat God die mense gaan straf omdat hulle die vals profete ens aan die kaak stel en mense probeer beskerm om nie mislei te word nie – misleiding is een van satan se magtigste wapens en julle wil die “goodies” op n “guilt trip” sit omdat hulle kamtag “judge” – lees bietjie Prediker 3: 1-10 – Please keep up the good work Deborah – it should be quite clear to all the readers that you have an anointing from God to do exactly what you are busy with.

  17. Albert

Anointed means ‘Christ’ or ‘Messiah’, etc. So no I don’t have an’ anointing’. I am just a little person who has a huge passion to warn people of false teaching. I had a one way ticket to hell once and I sought out Jesus to save me and He did. Now it is my duty to tell others of the dangers out there.

    Thanks for your comment 🙂

  18. Anon says:

I’m wondering what you think of the late John Eckhardt and the late Derek Prince. I did not see either of their names up there. I’m having a tough time deciding about both of them.

  19. Anon

Derek Prince is Word of Faith, as for John Eckhardt… I dunno, I’ve never read any of his stuff.

  20. Anon says:

Thank you for responding. When you say Derek Prince is “the word of faith” do you mean that he is to be trusted?? Your site is awesome, btw. I’m a baby Christian trying to find my way, and you have helped me. I have another question/comment that I would love your feedback on-

According to some, the true name of Jesus is Yashua or Yeshua. I have to idea if this is a coincidence, but every single professed Christian that I’ve run into that calls Jesus by another name has turned out to be a fraud, occultist, or promoter of a false gospel. What are you thoughts on this?
Also, should God be referred to as Yahweh? For now I’ve been calling him ‘Father’, or ‘Jesus of Nazareth’s Father’. (I’ve been deceived in the past, I’m very careful now)

    Thanks.

  21. Anon

No, don’t read Derek Prince. Word of Faith teachers are actually not good. They believe in Faith preaching. Faith is a force – If you have enough faith you can do the impossible.

Just call Jesus by his name, Jesus! It’s the most beautiful name ever! And I agree, people who find other names for Him are dodge. Most people who want to use His Hebrew name are into Hebrew Roots teachings (they kinda wanna be Jews). I call God, my Heavenly Father. If you hear anyone call God Jehovah, make a u-turn as well.

Regarding reading material. Stick to reading your bible. If you wanna learn the fun way, throw yourself into the deep end. Put your bible on the table, get a pencil and a eraser and a note book, or do it on a pc, either way. Then when you go to websites and they tell you about things and give scripture, open your bible and go and read the verse they give, THEN – read the entire passage around that verse and see what that verse REALLY means. That way you will learn very quickly who is lying to you 🙂 As you go of course you will learn more and more and ask more and more questions. Those questions, go and look for the answers on the internet and let the Holy Spirit guide you the ENTIRE way. If you think there is something wrong, it’s because the Holy Spirit is warning you that there is definitely something wrong. That is the best crash course in Holy Spirit Bible Learning there is 🙂 Yes, it’s gonna take you a long time, but if you have the desire (because the Holy Spirit in your life is pushing you to WANT to do this) then you are gonna love every minute of it. Make sense? That is how I learnt when I got saved and believe me it was not that long ago.

Thank you for your comment and I am happy that this site has helped you so much. Any questions, just ask.

  22. Burning Lamp says:

Eckhardt was known as an Apostle and for breaking curses. Doesn’t sound like sound teaching to me. Avoid his teachings like the plague or anyone who refers to themselves as modern day apostles.

  23. Burning Lamp

I don’t think Anon is speaking about that Eckhardt. I also checked and the guy is blatant Apostolic with links to C. Peter Wager etc. Anon said, the ‘late Eckhardt’. I’m guessing you still dunno who that is lol.

  24. Burlning Lamp says:

Maybe Anon should enlighten us as to this person is – there is no one by that name who is pushing daisies that I can find.

  25. Anon says:

I was talking about John Eckhardt. I made a mistake when I said ‘the late John Eckhardt’.
Anyway, please help me with this one thing:
What should I say to my friends and family that don’t know the truth about God and His Son, Jesus of Nazareth?
I’m pretty despondent right about now. How can I tell them to abandon sin when I can’t even do it myself? I have the repentant heart, but I don’t have the ‘fruits of the spirit’ to back them up. I can’t even be honest with myself..
there are people in my life that need help so badly, and I am failing them, failing myself, and failing God. That’s not a play for sympathy, that’s the truth.Uggg

  26. Anon

Oh heck no, stay away from that guy, he is like way bad. Anyone who calls themselves an Apostle or Prophet, stay FAR away from. There is no such thing as a modern day Apostle or Prophet. All genuine Apostles and Prophets appear in the Bible.

Please go read this: First sort your life out Anon, then worry about others. You don’t want to be a bad example to others. So get your life right with God. You need to look at why you can’t be honest with yourself – do you love the world more than Jesus? In other words, you don’t want to have to give up you who you are to follow Him. Get you life right with Jesus first, before you give others advice. Make sense?

Remember the story of the Prodical Son? The Father waited paitently all that time for the wayward son to come home. But don’t wait too long Anon, I can tell you now that Jesus’ return to take us home is close. Or if you passed away tonight (hopefully not), where would you go? The fact that you even care Anon that you think you are failing God is a good sign that you are at least on the right track. Millions could not be bothered. It’s very apparent that you love Jesus, but you need to do something drastically to get your life in order.

  27. Burning Lamp says:

Anon, you are a baby Christian and not in a position right now to say anything to those around you. You need to be in the milk of the Word and in prayer and seeking the Lord to help you learn to walk. You can pray for those around you and learn to walk with the Lord and be a witness of the change in your own life. Learn to walk in obedience and they will see a change and want to know more. You can then testify of what the Lord has done for you.

Be patient. Stay away from false teachers and wrong voices. Find solid Bible teaching – it is rare, but it can be found if you diligently seek it.

Do not be discouraged – you are under construction. Ask God to help you hate anything in your life that is not pleasing or honoring to Him and ask Him to help you turn away from it.

    Hope this helps…………..

Thank you so much for the responses… they are very much appreciated. A couple of things:

First, I’ve noticed some weird things about false teachers that I’m wondering if you can confirm. This is going to sound weird, even funny… but I can’t shake that everytime I run into a purported Christian with a beard- especially a long beard- they turn out to be very bad. Also, it seems to me that those that preach vegetarianism are usually bad, too. Anything to this in your experience?

The second is very serious and I pray I’m coming to the right place for advice. I’ve been experiencing demonic dreams and attacks, they’ve been worse since I became a Christian… that’s why I’m so desperate for help. What should I do? Is there anyone out there that you would recommend for me to listen to? I know you are going to say ‘read the bible’. Which I have been doing… but it’s going to take me a very long time to read and understand it. I’ve been trying to read it everyday but it is slow going (I’m on the book of Leviticus now). Problem is, I need help NOW. Of course, I’ve had these problems exacerbated by falling for some false teachers, but I’m learning to discern the good from the bad (hopefully that’s why I’m here), thanks to the Holy Spirit I think.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m in the fight of my life, and I feel like if I can overcome I can help so many people in my life…these people look up to me… God has his reasons for these struggles if I can just get to the bottom of them and overcome.

  29. Anon

That’s just funny 🙂 stay away from people with long beards then.

Also, it seems to me that those that preach vegetarianism are usually bad, too. Anything to this in your experience?

This could possibly be because they are New Age and into mother earth and stuff.

The second is very serious and I pray I’m coming to the right place for advice. I’ve been experiencing demonic dreams and attacks, they’ve been worse since I became a Christian… that’s why I’m so desperate for help. What should I do? Right, now to the serious part. Can I go back to one of your other comments…where you said… “How can I tell them to abandon sin when I can’t even do it myself? I have the repentant heart, but I don’t have the ‘fruits of the spirit’ to back them up. I can’t even be honest with myself..” You are under attack because you have chosen Jesus, the problem is there are areas of your life that still belong to Satan and he wont let you go. So he is upset and having a go at you in your dreams and attacking you. You have some serious prayer to do and I tell you now, that the sooner you realize you have to CHANGE YOUR WAYS the sooner all this nightmare will be over. I ask that you do not go seek deliverance because you will only end up worse off and I ask that you do not let anyone lay hands on you. Just pray, make a list of everything in your life that you have done wrong and I mean everrrrythinngggg and tell Jesus you are sorry for these things and you want to change and He must help you and that you are serious. This is not a game Anon. Be honest with Jesus and change your ways.

I was in the occult for many many years. When I came out of the occult I went through severe attack and had the fight of my life. No one helped me, I could find no one to help me. The only one who helped me was Jesus who was with me all the time; I obeyed His commandments, I layed my life bare before Him, I repented of all my sins, and I changed my ways. I am now a born again child of God, who does nothing but serve Jesus Christ.

Ok, let’s forget about reading the Bible the long winded way for now, because you need to work on your relationship with Jesus with prayer and listening to the convictions of the Holy Spirit in your life to be honest about those things that you can’t be honest about. The Bible is not about reading it over and over and over – it’s about understanding it and applying it to YOUR LIFE. Like you said, you need emergency answers and reading the bible from the beginning is not going to help. That is why they invented this thing called a topical index – best invention ever. Get yourself the topical Amplified bible – now you can go and read scripture per topic based on your questions, and so on. This is another good way to learn 🙂 Not the way you are doing it – this will take fooorrrreverrr. And start with the New Testament!
