Africa’s ‘Christian’ population on rise they say. The problem is they didn’t check to see if they are actually born again Christians or just part of the false Christianity sweeping over the world. DISINFORMATION is what it’s called. Tell people amazing things are happening when in fact nothing of the sort is taking place.
Quote from Douglas Busby from the article below; ”Keep in mind that 90 percent of the continent still believes in witchcraft and spells, yes even the Christians.”
And I concur. And you know what? The same thing in America and around the world. Most of America call themselves Christian too but follow false teachings and new age practices. There are no degrees of occultism as many would love to believe. You either follow Jesus Christ the Son of God 100% and that INCLUDES the Word of God 100% (the two can’t be separated from one another) or you don’t which means you follow after other gods and are therefore NOT Christian.
Andrew “Spends more time trying to transform Africa than his own back yard” Strom, is part of the Apostolic and Prophetic movement – He did however say that he had moved away from this movement. But he has not, he is Latter Rain and he is Emergent. He is a Purpose Driver, a Change Agent. I think you and Brian McLaren need to go have a cuppa coffee together, he just loves transforming Africa too. Brian’s mission is to connect everyone that is currently disconnected.
Quote from Andrew Strom from the article below; ”There are reasons why Africa has always been the ‘dark continent’ spiritually and there’s ingrained patterns of sin that go back probably thousands of years and generation upon generation of repeating these patterns. Christianity should be breaking up those patterns, but the church is not strong enough,”
Oh Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. The church is not strong enough?
NO ANDREW, Jesus Christ the Son of God BREAKS THE CHAINS OF SIN in peoples lives when they come to GENUINE REPENTANCE and ABANDON their wicked ways- this can ONLY be done through the CONVICTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT in their lives.
You insult and deny Jesus Christ. You have elevated yourself to the level of the one who ‘makes the difference in peoples lives’.
I definitely think you need to go back to the USA and stay there. Your country is in utter spiritual chaos AFTER all the so called Revivals that spread across your nation. This started in the early 1900′s with the Azusa Street Revival, but you know that already. Now you are all coming to Africa and spreading the same FALSE SPIRIT.
Who are you really working with Andrew Strom? I know who… but let’s see if you can be really honest for once.

Africa’s ‘Christian’ population on rise – But will tribal rituals be overcome by the Gospel?
By Michael Carl – January 09, 2010 - © 2010 WorldNetDaily
Africa, the “dark continent” to which American Christians shipped missionary after missionary during the 20th Century, now features 40 percent of the Nigerian population among the rolls of Christians, according to the CIA Factbook.
Patrick Johnstone and Jason Mandryk’s Operation World reports Uganda is 88 percent Christian and Kenya is about 78 percent Christian. [DTW note: Really?]
Missions analysts at the Free Methodist Church of North America say their African churches are the fastest growing in their denomination and the largest Anglican province in the world is in Nigeria. [DTW note: Oh you mean Anglican/RCC not Christianity. That makes more sense]
But Jonathan Bonk, director of the Overseas Ministries Study Center in New Haven, Conn., says the key is how Christian is defined. [DTW note: Absolutely]
“Self-definition as Christian has a long history, and conversion does not always result in ‘fruit in keeping with repentance.’ As extraordinarily dynamic as churches in Africa appear to be, the acid test is still the outcome of it all,” he said.
He said there are some serious questions that should be asked.
“What relational, social, ethical difference does it make, in a continent filled with the savagery of wars, rape, corruption, despotic leaders (many of whom call themselves ‘Christian’)? Is there any evidence that Christian conversion is making a difference? Such questions need to be asked, in view of what Jesus himself describes in his judgment day scenario when he separates the sheep from the goats,” he said.
Andrew Strom is an evangelist and author who leads the Revival School Ministry. Strom has extensive experience working in Africa and he says the problems in the churches depend on which country. [Emphasis Added] [DTW note: Extensive experience working in Africa? I seriously doubt it. These guys come here on a holiday and all of a sudden become experts.]
“There are different problems in different countries. I was in Uganda a couple of months ago and the AIDS epidemic has seriously impacted the population there. There’s many AIDS orphans, so you have a huge problem with promiscuity there,” Strom said. [DTW note: Yes and look what happened in Uganda, Andrew. Uganda’s New Apostolic Reformation Transformation Disaster ]
“There are reasons why Africa has always been the ‘dark continent’ spiritually and there’s ingrained patterns of sin that go back probably thousands of years and generation upon generation of repeating these patterns. Christianity should be breaking up those patterns, but the church is not strong enough,” [DTW note: I already commented on this one, still can't get other it though]
Bonk said that some issues relating to Christianity have to be raised.
“These questions are not particular to Africa, of course, but need always and everywhere to be asked – of ourselves, of our churches, of our religious institutions, of our society, etc. Where’s the salt? Where’s the light on a hill, in Africa?” [DTW note: There is no light. Africa is being transformed exactly the way the EU wants it to be transformed.]
Bonk points to a major tragedy to illustrate his point.
“Remember that Rwanda was the most ‘Christian’ nation on earth, in pure demographic terms. What difference did such ‘Christian’ faith make to those who wielded the machetes? What difference does it make, for that matter, in the minds of the Sunday School teachers who fire missiles from the security of an American fighter jet? There’s a huge disconnect here, that raises serious questions about just what we mean by Christian,” he said. [DTW note: Rwanda was one of the first countries Rick Warren penetrated with his Purpose Driven lies]
Filmmaker Douglas Busby is a producer and director for Damascus Films and he’s done several documentaries on Christianity in Africa. Busby says church is a serious experience in Africa.
“I have been to Africa 10 times and have been to many churches and you’ve never really been to church until you’ve been to church in Africa. It is a celebration, not a prosaic ritual that makes you feel better for an hour or two after you walk out of the building.” [DTW note: Africans know how to celebrate, dance and sing. You confuse this natural born African talent with genuine Christian worship.]
Busby said there is a real presence of the church in Africa
“Of course there are millions of true Christians on the continent. But the church is the cart before the horse. Education is the horse that will lead people to the truth,” he said. [DTW note: Hmmmm I am pretty sure FIFA (run by the EU) hinted at the same thing. Education for Africa that is, not Christianity. EU is gonna pump billions of $'s into Africa for 'Education' FIFA says Free Education for Africa – What does the fine print say?]
However, Busby points to a problem that is rampant on the continent.
“Keep in mind that 90 percent of the continent still believes in witchcraft and spells, yes even the Christians. Will Africa take over the decisions of a particular Christian practice? No. Their world influence is centuries behind the West,” he said. [DTW note: So we can maybe say that only 10% are genuinely Christian? I would say that's a fair assumption. In fact this percentage might be even less, and this is a percentage you can apply throughout the world.]
Tom Zurowski is president and founder of the Global Response Network, an organization that works all over the world, but with a special focus on south-Saharan East Africa, in the Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. Zurowski said some Christians try to mix animism with Christianity. [DTW note: Animism is the the belief that natural objects, nature, and the universe itself have souls, desires and intentions in other words the universe is a 'consciousness'. And as with New Age beliefs you can tap into this consciousness through meditation and other occult practices. As we can see there is no difference between African witchcraft and Westernised Pantheism and Eastern Religious beliefs.]
“Also there are many in African churches who still practice tribal rituals. They sing and dance on Sunday and go to the witch doctor on Monday. When we were renovating the chapel on the Nugent School Campus in Sudan, we were told by the local Anglican priests that we first needed to sacrifice a chicken or a goat. They said if we didn’t that something bad would happen. Anglicans make up the largest church-going population in southern Sudan. However, not all Anglicans are like this, I can safely and sadly say that many are,” he said. [DTW: Anglicans? I would never have guessed.]
Zurowski agrees that the church in America experiences some of the same problems as the church in Africa. However, Zurowski says that while the church is making gains, the church sometimes looks like the world. [DTW: How can the church be making gains and look like the world at the same time? It's either one or the other. Let's stick to the latter and not beat around the bush here].
“If you’re not there on a Sunday people will ask what is wrong with you. It’s like a local festival in the community. Going to church is a religious and social demand. In Nigeria, religion and the broader society are interwoven and it’s hard to tell where one begins and the other ends.”
Busby said the problem is that the church has mixed too much with the culture and maybe it’s become too familiar. “But the downside is all businesses and commerce are now being based on religious affiliation. Every store is named ‘Jesus is King Furniture’ or ‘Hallelujah Burgers.’ If you are not conforming to this false activity just to make a ‘buck’ you won’t have customers,” he said. [DTW note: Now that I didn't know. Interesting. Can't buy or sell unless you conform. Sounds 'like' a small bit of Biblical prophecy from Revelation 13:17 ...hmmm.]
Busby said part of the problem comes from the history of Christianity in Africa. [DTW note: Sorry Busby, but true Christianity is not responsible for Africa. A false Christianity yes, but not Jesus Christ the Son of God.]
“But then you ask yourself the question why? It goes back to colonialism, but in modern times it’s cash. The church has invaded the continent like the CIA did in the 60s to stop the spread of communism. The church pours cash into Africa and gives the people food, clothing and education. This is great but you have to basically convert or you’re left on
the curb. The key is inarticulate faith. So there is widespread subconscious conversion, and a ‘Yes, I’m Christian as long as the food, clothes and cash keep coming.’” [DTW note: Brian McLaren, totally agrees on the colonialism thing. In fact he even wrote an article about it: Brian McLaren Blames The Christian Faith for Colonialism…]
“Strom said the familiarity and cultural mixes have caused corruption. “There is corruption in the church over there and it’s been corrupted by money. Whenever there’s a greedy gospel it will add to the corruption that’s already in the culture and it won’t be able to bring about a change from that corruption. In fact, it will reinforce it.” [DTW note: There is more to this 'greedy gospel' thing than meets the eyes here. You guys have come in and are blaming the WoF prosperity gospel for the corruption in Africa. But what are you trying to replace it with? Emergent transformation?]
Zurowski said the history, the mixing of traditions and money, produces a result with which Americans are all too familiar.
“The major cultural phenomenon of the church sounds great, but from what I have seen, it doesn’t prove anything. The same people that you see in church faithfully every week are often the same people you see faithfully drunk in the market as well,” he said.
Strom said while there are many problems in the African church, there is still fruit and there is still an open door.
“God is doing a mighty work and there is massive growth in Africa. There is a lot of spiritual hunger over there. The hunger is strong in Africa and there is no one who doesn’t believe in God. I mean everybody believes in the spiritual world and it’s very real to them,” he said. [DTW note: Oh my gosh, you have no idea what you are talking about, just because someone believes in the spirit world does in NO way mean they will ever come to believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God.
You guys are actually using the 'realness' of the spiritual world that African people are all to familiar with to lure people into this false Christianity. And because it's false they will NEVER abandon their African traditional witchcraft. Just combine it together. Exactly like what happened when John G Lake came to South Africa. A huge split took place where Africans took the Word of Faith teaching and mixed in their African traditions and now you have the ZCC church in South Africa]

I went to see Mr Strom when he was here in SA. He Preached a service or two down here in the Western Cape. He is also into the feelings and atmosphere – “I can feel the Spirit is here . .” and “this atmosphere is loaded with Gods grace . . .” Eisch !
I think my Spirit is inside of me and NOT in building or tent !
Oh, amd he is definitely into Dominion-ism. He also has this “funny” believe that you can reach people through Music – Rock Music and Hip Hop, to be exact.
I questioned him on this and he just said that he believes the Spirit works through music too…!!!
Wow !!! “New Revelation !” None of the poor old Apostles knew this…they just labored the old fashioned way by preaching the Gospel of Repentance…just imagine what they could have done if they had know about this “Musical Gospel Ministry”
The sad part is that, Rock music is the Gospel of Satan. This Gospel of Rock reads “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law” Yet, MR Strom knows better and uses Satan’s Gospel for God’s kingdom ..???
How sick is that !
[EDITED: TheGroundWorks is part of the DISCERNAMENTALIST MAFIA WEBSITE who go out of their way to insult JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD and write utter rubbish about good Discernment websites like: Apprising Ministries, Christian Research Net, Herescope, Slice of Laodicea, etc]

Hello, I cannot find an email address anywhere on this site and for now will reflect publicly.
Here are a few suggestions on Discernment…
1) Text on left side bleeds together (gives site a convoluted look). Prob. not your intention, but you should look into it to rectify.
2) Some articles are long, wordy, long on opinion, short on thought and reflection. Some articles are short, but without any indepth thought. Go deep(er)
3) Your comments come off as haughty and arrogant (it may not be your intention, but it is a turn off) Already too many notorious sites with this attitude….they don’t build up only tear down. Aim for greatness…too seek to be a great site, be down to earth! You come across sometimes and angry and frustrated.
4) RE: Trying to Transform…Africa – you preach about the need to be 100% about the bible (ie accuracy) therefore remember REVELATION has no ‘s’ , not REVELATIONS. If you are going to preach on being 100% biblical…then it matters
5) Shorten your rules. You have more rules that some legal briefs.
Finally, on the flip side, you do make a good point about North Americans coming to Africa to make ‘judgments/assessments’ about Africa. That would certainly get under my skin and I concede and totally get what you are saying.

Absolutely right!! I am going to post his articles on his revelations about ‘street revials’ and music being the ministries of the future.
Hi DTW!
Informative as always, I just cant get how some-one is called a “Christian” but still believes in witchcraft???? Its like supporting both the bulls and the stormers! Two opposites, belive in both darkness and light?
In any way of to work…..have a nice day!
I found this church website http://www.lewendewoord.co.za they have a “prophetic school” as advertised on website.
Any comments ??? What will jump up next !!!!!
Elmarie
Yeah this is part of the NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) they have ‘schools for signs and wonders’, prophetic schools, trips to heaven schools. Insanity.
What I find interesting though is this is an Afrikaans church. Makes you wonder how many Afrikaans people are really Christian, if they are so easily swayed from their conservativeness to new age.
Deborah
They claim to have 8000 members in Pretoria east
only. I think, this is the reason why the old type “N G” churches and “Hervormers” are actually running dry. The new Afrikaans generation loves this type of church. Also included is the lights, camera, action type of services. All focus on the man on pulpit, signs and wonders and not The Bible,or Jesus !!! and they also preach good news only, so called “what the people want to hear”. agh man I can go on on …..It has become very much a playground for the so called rich,(very very dangerous play ground) it is the in thing …..there I go again…lol lol
Yep, I’m Afrikaans and live in pta east and I can tell you allot of people are either in NG Moreleta or Lewende woord pta east. Some Afrikaans people are also in Hatfield Christian Church. Three biggies forming a triangle!
And then there is also money in pta east! (non for me though…*snif*…lol) but without generalizing there is allot of rich folk. And funny when driving past these churches on a Sunday morning its one 4X4 after the other pulling. Yeah I might be generalizing….but it does seems that way. Maybe why the prosperity and live YOUR life now is preached in these places.
anyhow just my 4 cents…
Here is real deal…. Every real move of God was birth not preached till it was making a manifestation thru transfigured vessels. We need corporate Intercession and prayer till we become a Hot Flame as the early church had. Flames leeping off EVERYONE of them. Until we have this we are bogus. Jesus said my house will be called a HOUSE of Prayer in all NATIONS. Lord help us begin a Tabernacle not made with Hands today.
Jerry Odonell
How about this deal: if you can go to the bible and come back with scriptural verses for the below in the context that you remove the idea that you are Jewish in other words, that the current church has not replaced Israel, it would be much appreciated. If you do this you will clearly see that your incorrect interpretation will become a correct interpretation of scripture.
1) Every real move of God was birth not preached till it was making a manifestation thru transfigured vessels
2) We need corporate Intercession and prayer till we become a Hot Flame as the early church had
3) Flames leeping off EVERYONE of them – Until we have this we are bogus
