Soaking – A Once Lost Art…

I usually do not mince words, especially when the subject has to do with man’s relationship with God and his eternal destiny. So, without any further ado, allow me to tell you upfront what soaking and all the other similar methods Christians adore practicing actually are and where it is leading the unsuspecting. We are commanded to love and worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our strength, and with all our mind; . . . (Luke 10:27). We are transformed by  the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2) and not through techniques boorowed from E astern mysticism.

The Fragrance of Christ

Paul admonished his younger brother in Christ to rightly divide the Word of God.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

The word for “divide” is (orthotomeo) and means to “cut straight.” it is said that in the Old Testament the Levite priests used a very sharp flint knife to cut open the bones of the sacrificial animals to expose the marrow to sunlight. They needed to cut straight or bear the consequences when cutting not so straight. Whether this is true I don’t know, but it helps to understand what Paul and John meant when they wrote :-

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; (Revelation 2:12)

Idolatry: Can the blind lead the blind? – Part 2

Trevor Hudson

Trevor Hudson – Idolatry

Green ArrowPlease read Idolatry: Can the blind lead the blind Part 1

In part 1 of this short series on idolatry and the vice grip it has on the Mosaiek Church in Fairland, Johannesburg, I ventured to parallelize their view of the dangers inherent in an over indulgence in materialism, consumerism and pleasure with the Buddhist view of overcoming these temptations through asceticism, meditation practices and the mortification of the so-called false self. All these spiritual aspects are inherent in contemplative spirituality and are practiced by its followers, i.e. meditation, silence, solitude, asceticism (in the form of retreats), labyrinths, chanting (droning).

As you may recall, my entire dissertation is an evaluation of Trevor Hudson’s sermon “Letting God be God” which he delivered on March 13 at the Mosaiek Church. The most alarming thing about his sermon is that he boldly refers to the resurrection of Jesus Christ but very subtly redefines the word “repent” which is an indispensible requirement for the quickening (resurrection) of the sinner who is dead in sins and trespasses. Here, once again is how Trevor Hudson redefined repentance.

Contemplative Spirituality: The Throne of Satan

Contemplative Spirituality

The followers of the Emergent Jesus are completely enamored, captivated, bewitched, besotted, and smitten by hidden secrets, so much so that they are continually boasting that they have found this or that new hidden secret or message, allegedly of Jesus of Nazareth. Books like ‘The Secret Message of Jesus: Uncovering the Truth that could change everything’ (Brian McLaren) have navigated the emergent conversationalists and coffee drinkers onto a path where they are relentlessly seeking for a truth that blatantly contradicts and even replaces the Truth.

Shades and colors of the New Age are increasingly emerging to the surface, much like a painting of which the top layer is removed to reveal the original, hidden underneath layers and layers of paint. Masterpieces of deceit are emerging at an alarming rate from websites such and e-church and velocity culture. Consider the following from the paint brush of Dries Cronje’, one of the masters in the e-fold of the e-church. In reference to Paul’s statement ‘to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory’ in Colossians, he comes to this amazing conclusion.

In a nutshell, here’s the mystery:

Firewalking – Walking into a Whole Lotta Trouble

Firewalking is becoming a common practice in South Africa;

Not among the Hindu’s who have been doing it for hundreds of years, but among white South Africans who are fooled into thinking that walking across burning hot coals will help you achieve success in your life among other things.  A number of entrepreneurs have taken it upon themselves to use firewalking as a company team building exercise or for personal gain while they cash in on your lack of knowledge.

How can one walk over hot coals and not get burnt?

There are the scientists who say there is a purely reasonable explanation for all this, and that is most people who walk on the coals walk over so quickly their feel barely touch the coals.  Scientists have done research and found out that ash does not conduct heat, so if there is ash strewn over the burning coals the chances of you getting burnt is slim, another reason for not getting burnt is that the bottom of the foot is cooler than the hot coals (no kidding) and it takes a couple of seconds for your foot touching the hot coals to warm up to the point that you get burnt.  Another reason is that the bottom of your foot is insulated with a thin layer of moisture which prevents major injury.  But having said all that, that’s not the main issue…

How To Practice Meditative Prayer - to Practice Meditative Prayer

Winfield Bevins   Acts 29 Pastor – Church of the Outer Banks

In Hebrew thought, to meditate upon the Scriptures is to quietly repeat them, giving oneself entirely to God, and abandoning outside distractions. The two main things that we are told to meditate on are God’s word and God’s goodness. Paul tells us, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4:8).

[DTW:  Oh so the word ‘think’ in that verse now justifies practicing occult practices.  SATANIC PRACTICES are NOT honourable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, of excellence, and worthy of praise unless you are speaking about another god, which you are.  Think about that.  Now, now, don’t go sit on the floor in some quiet place, just right where you are, right now, use your brain (that GOD gave you to THINK with) and think about it.  Then pick up your Bible and go find some real scripture to back up this nonsence – you will find none.]

Scripture – Be of Sober Spirit, Take up the Full Armour of God

Scripture - Be of Sober Spirit, Take up the Full Armour of GodWhy are you to be of sound mind?  Why are you to be of sober spirit?  Because we live in times where the devil prowls like a roaring lion seeking to destroy you mind.  This is not a fleshly battle, but a spiritual one.  If your mind is held captive with things that steer you away from God then you need to repent and get back onto the narrow path.

1 Peter 5:8   –   8  Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

1 Peter 1:13    –   13  Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:7    –   7 The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

2 Timothy 4:5   –   5  But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

1 Thessalonians 5:8   –   8  But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

7 Colours of the Rainbow and the Labyrinth

Rainbow - Labyrinth

7 Colours of the Rainbow and the Labyrinth

What does the Rainbow mean in New Age Spirituality:

“The experience of seeing the colours of the rainbow, when the sun is shining and it has been raining, is one we all can share. The experience often has a magical quality to it as though it is stirring some deep inner response. Such is the wonder of the light that forms the colours of the rainbow.

The heavenly principle is to GIVE AS WE RECEIVE. We are not intended toRainbow - Labyrinth absorb the light of the rainbow, enlightenment, joy and happiness, rather we are intended to transmit it; and in doing so to unfold its meaning for others, and for ourselves too.”

“The rainbow represents the regenerate spiritual person – one who has lived out the path of enlightenment, whose potential has opened out like the lotus flower of the east, each stage represented by a new colour developing out of the one before.

The Positive and The Negative of a One World Religion

The Christ - one world religion

The Positive and The Negative of a One World Religion

They tell you its all good, they tell you it’s all about peace, love and joy.  They tell you the message they are spreading is one of change, transformation.  We have to under no uncertain terms create peace on earth – no uncertain terms.  We need to save the earth, because we as a human race are going to be living in this world for a long, long time.  And we can’t continue fighting amongst each other.  The main culprit for all the conflict is religion.  And the only way to fix this problem is to merge all the major faiths together.   But they had to find the central common denominator of each religion to be able to unite them together.  It’s Christ.

They say that the Christians await their Christ, Jews are still awaiting the Messiah, Hindus are anticipating the coming of Krishna, Muslims are expecting the Imam Mahdi and Buddhists await the Fifth (Maitreya) Buddha.  They say all these ‘Christ’s’ are actually one and the same.  Therefore ALL religions lead to the same God – So what are we fighting about?
