Reflexology – Eastern Occult practice where points on your feet and hands are connected to your inner organs via energy lines or meridian lines. There are 5 Elements, these Five Elements are known as wood, fire, water, earth, and metal which form a pentagram. The body is also split into 2 groups, the Yin and Yang;  The Yin and Yang are considered to be opposites.

  • Yin represents the night, dark, feminine, left side of the body, eternity, etc.
  • Yang is its opposite and represents day, light, masculine, right side of the body, history, etc.

So besides all the other occult teaching, flake healings and dubious practices that go on at his church he offers reflexology. What’s next Yoga? Contemplative Prayer?  Oh I should not speak too loud.]

God Is confirming the word of Kobus and his ministrie with signs and wonders… i wonder if the people who r against him have EVER prayed for the sick…. GOD IS WITH KOBUS VAN RENSBERG oh and by the way kobus is free from cancer, Go read and see the raports….

we are not “against” Kobus van Rensburg. We openly question the “extra-biblical” perceptions/methods in “his ministry”.

we are not “against” healing. we openly question the “extra-biblical” perceptions / methods used in his and other ministries.

and yes, we do pray for the sick.

    Well said !
We will just do what we do best. Help the lost with great love and patience.

The path is very narrow and straight and People don’t like to hear that.

  5. Pieter Meyer says:

I have never heard anyone preach the way Kobus Van Rensburg does. I dont dispute that miracles take place during his sermons. I dont dispute that people are convinced that they are getting closer to God via his ministry…… Although I cannot pinpoint an uncomfortable feeling that I have about him (or provide biblical “proof” of doctrinal error) there is something basic “missing” in his ministry – accountability. If ministers / preachers / prophets that are parts of much larger church set-ups (i.e. not just one man) manage to “fall” into sin, how much more is one single man not vulnerable?

  6. Pieter

    >> Although I cannot pinpoint an uncomfortable feeling that I have about him (or provide biblical “proof” of doctrinal error

So you just go about checking to see if someone speaks the truth based on feelings? And the reason you have to go by feelings is because you don’t know the Word of God to be able to prove teachings to be true or false.

So what you gonna do to fix the problem becuase you can’t go through life on ‘feelings’ but on what is TRUE?

PS, what’s the point of being accountable to someone who is just as deceived as Kobus? The blind leading the blind. And you will never know Pieter how far the lies travel.

So again we are back at the place where you are to find your self approved and study the Word of God so that you are not deceived.

I personally have been blessed by Kobus’ ministry. that is a true man of God who is so much consumed by God’s relentless love. I would rather have people say such nasty things from personal experience. The man preaches Grace. i dare such people to visit spirit word ministries, or at least read this book “a place called there”, and then judge from personal experience. May God richly bless you all!!!

  8. collen

Would you mind explaining how you have been blessed by his ministry?

  9. louise says:

    Hi Colleen,

I cannot support what you are saying about his Ministry. If ever there was a man who needs to be stoned is him. I have a friend I have not wished to see for some time as she thinks all men who stand in front of a pulpit are “Great Men Of God”. Because of this she makes me stumble. You need to ask the Holy Spirit is it the flesh you seek or him.

    Karl

Naaah no thanks Karl, we are told in the Word to turn away from these False teacher and Kobus is not he only one around spreading a false Gospel. Just read the blog an you will see.

“Should we allow false teachers into our home?”

Answer: The short letter of 2 John is written in part to warn believers against the influence of false teachers. John identifies them as those “who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh” and describes them as deceivers and antichrists (2 John 7). He goes on to prohibit receiving them into our homes or wishing them well. The question is whether this prohibition refers to those who knock on our doors today, such as Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses. Are we to deny members of these sects access to our homes?

It is important to understand exactly what it means that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Many cultists will agree that Jesus was a man of flesh and bone who walked the earth around 2000 years ago. But that is not what John means here. He first addressed this issue in 1 John 4:2, telling us how to identify false teachers and the spirits who drive them. The first test of a true teacher/prophet of God is that they proclaim that Jesus is God incarnate in human flesh (John 1:14). Both the full deity and full humanity of Christ will be asserted by any teacher who truly comes from God. The Holy Spirit testifies to the true nature of Christ, while Satan and his demonic host deny that true nature. That is why John identifies anyone who denies the deity of Christ—which both the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses do—as deceivers and antichrists.

What should be our response, then, when cultists come knocking at the door? John, writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, gives a clear answer: we are not to receive them into our homes. While John was likely more commanding against allowing false teachers to stay in your home than just allowing them in the door, the principle is the same. We are not to do anything that would give the appearance we approve of their message. Many people feel “called” to debate endlessly with cultists, bringing them into their homes for Bible studies or witnessing to them in chat rooms and forums. But God does not call us to do these things; He commands us to avoid false teachers. Cultists are master deceivers who are well-trained in techniques that will confuse those whose knowledge of Scripture is limited—the very ones cultists most often seek out. It is invariably these well-meaning and compassionate souls who dialog with cultists. But God’s desire is to protect the weak among His people and John’s prohibition reflects that desire.

John’s final warning regards “greeting” cultists, which the King James Version translates as bidding them “God speed.” This phrase in the Greek means to cheerfully or joyfully hail or salute someone. In other words, we are not to give cultists or anyone else the impression that we see them as having legitimate claims, doctrines, or opinions. We are not to bless them or wish them well. John tells us that to do so is to share in their wicked work. Christians are of Christ; cultists are anti-Christ, no matter how kind, sincere, and charming they may appear. We can have no fellowship with darkness or those who spread falsehood; rather, we are to separate ourselves from them.

But aren’t we to witness to them about Christ? Aren’t they the mission field? Interestingly, nowhere in the Bible are we called to witness to false teachers. Jesus tells us to “watch out” for them (Matthew 7:15) and Paul tells us to “avoid them” (Romans 16:17) and declares them to be “accursed” (Galatians 1:8). We are, of course, to be always ready with an answer for the hope that is within us (1 Peter 3:15), but that presupposes the cultist is actually interested in the true hope of salvation through Christ, something that is rarely, if ever, the case. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), but we are not to cast our pearls before pigs (Matthew 7:6). In regards to cultists, it is especially important to rely on the Lord’s wisdom (James 1:5) in discerning the difference between an opportunity and a distraction.

  13. Theresa says:

You have so much to say about every single known evangelist, pastor or preacher, be it past or present. So tell us, who is your Pastor and which church do you fellowship at because clearly there is not one perfect enough for you. Would love to know you who are accountable to and please do not do the ‘I am accountable to Jesus’ thing…that is immature and not biblical because God gave us pastors to be accountable to! You also mentioned earlier that you previously had the wordpress blog but had to shut it down due to death threats etc…shame hey? Do you think for one minute that if your are truly serving the living God, He is not able to protect you? Jesus received insults and death threats, as a matter of fact those death threats were carried out on the cross, but that did not stop Him from shutting down His ‘blog’..how many of the apostles were persecuted, threatened etc, but they did not close down shop. You also make it very clear that you don’t do ‘meetings’ and I have also noticed that every time some one has called your bluff and invited you to the very place you condemn as false, you come up with the same lame excuse! If you are led by the Holy Spirit, then why are you afraid of confronting these so called false spirits? I can not believe that so called christians can actually not understand that it is impossible for you to be right about every single teacher/pastor that you have attacked. Anyone with half a brain should be able to see through this. Sure, there are false prophets, but then you are called to pray for them not to attack them.God will deal with them, because the leaders will be judged severely. You try and impress people with quoting scripture, but you will never have revelation of the Bible until you have revelation of the author of the Bible. You can go right ahead and delete evey single comment I have posted on the various topics, it really makes no difference, because at the end God will reveal the truth. I cannot imagine being unsaved, wondering about Jesus, searching for Him and then stumbling upon this site! I would see NOTHING of the love of Jesus!! NOTHING! only condemnation and I would run the other way!
Becareful for God is not a God too be mocked and He is a jealous God when it comes to His children, His beloved. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!”

    Theresa

Do you think for one minute that if your are truly serving the living God, He is not able to protect you?

Why are you involved in an underground church then?

  16. Elmarie A says:

    Theresa

So tell us, who is your Pastor and which church do you fellowship at because clearly there is not one perfect enough for you.

Theresa you really wanna know who is our Pastor? The one and only Greatest of them all Jesus Christ crucified. And please show us where in the Word does it say we have to belong to a church building. Yes you are correct no man is perfect enough for us in this deceiving world, as man is much to fallible in todays times just look at this False preacher/teacher who calls Himself prophet Kobus van Rensburg. He is a self appointed False prophet and make peace with that.

Would love to know you who are accountable to and please do not do the ‘I am accountable to Jesus’ thing…that is immature and not biblical because God gave us pastors to be accountable to!

Yes I will say it out loud we are accountable to Jesus alone. I have news for you Theresa you are blaspheming God here!! How dare you say: “to say one is accountable to Jesus is immature and not biblical.” No! God did not give pastors as far as I know there where Apostles and Desciples. and No! we are not in any way accountable to any man for our sins but to God and God alone. You are really very lost in your false believes.

Theresa you have one sick set of believes you know that??

You also mentioned earlier that you previously had the wordpress blog but had to shut it down due to death threats etc…shame hey?

Only cruel people say that. Shame on you Theresa!!

I repeat Theresa you have one sick set of believes you know that??

    A Shaky Foundation
    A.W. Tozer

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me….” –Jeremiah 9:23-24

It is true that much church activity is thrown back upon a shaky foundation of psychology and natural talents. It is sad but true that many a mother-in-law is actually praying that her handsome son-in-law may be called to preach because “he would have such a marvelous pulpit presence.”

We live in a day when charm is supposed to cover almost the entire multitude of sins. Charm has taken a great place in religious expression. I am convinced that our Lord expects us to be tough enough and cynical enough to recognize all of this that pleases the unthinking in our churches: the charm stuff, the stage presence in the pulpit, the golden qualities of voice….

I feel sorry for the church that decides to call a pastor because “his personality simply sparkles!” I have watched quite a few of those sparklers through the years. In reality, as every kid knows at Fourth of July time, sparklers can be an excitement in the neighborhood–but only for about one minute! Then you are left holding a hot stick that quickly cools off in your hand. Tragedy in the Church: The Missing Gifts, 32-33.

“Lord, confirm for each of us as pastors our divine call, that we might indeed build on a strong foundation. Then bring conviction and repentance to any in our congregations who are judging us with the wrong criteria. Amen.”

    Hi All,

i was watching the spirit word channel and honestly liked the teaching. I have to confess i dont know much but want to really walk a true christian life and remain saved. But getting confused which one is true and which ones are not. As inmatured to christian life, i could easily fall into any. please advise how to chose and Elmarie based on your assessment which ones are good.

    thanks

  18. whattoberealchristian

Firstly. Read ALL the comments on this page. The comments come from people who follow Kobus van Rensburgs teaching. If you think the comments are of a Christian nature, then you have a problem. If you find them offensive and completely unbiblical, then you are on the right track.

Once you have finished reading all the comments, you can go read the rest of the articles on this website.

  19. louise says:

If anyone hears of Sherry Shriner run like Forrest Gump. I was literally ill after reading her articles. She and Kobus will get along well.

  20. louise

Hmmm I actually had an article on her and it’s missing. I wonder if it didn’t get copied over from my old blog. I will find it and put it up again with additional info.

  21. Martin says:

Hi Deborah, this is my first visit to this website, and wow! lots of information to reflect upon and, after all quite a practical demonstration of contending for THE faith that was once delivered unto the saints. I’ve read a few articles so far and replies mainly addressed by yourself and just want to congratulate you on the way you respond to some of the off beat and sometimes terrible replies, it is not easy I know. You really strike me as steadfast in your faith and I’m encouraged and inspired by that. Your doctrinal views I find to be biblically correct. I’ve been studying the Bible for some years now and still find it fresh and uplifting. God’s Word contains absolute truth and is relative to itself; self explanatory. The articles on this website doesn’t surprise me at all. It is a sad sight though how the body of Christ is hacked to death but I see it as a reality likened to the crucifixion. These are serious issues you’re dealing with, it’s a matter of life and death this problem of sin but I think you’re doing a great job. No-ones perfect but there are things that are just plainly not right according to true doctrine. I’ve found that most of the negative replies are said out of ignorance to true doctrine. In the past I have made the same errors purely out of ignorance and then by the grace of God repented of it and learned from the experience. It so so vitally important to study the Bible diligently and to understand the gospel…the deception is rife! We don’t all have the same measure of faith at any given time, that’s why we grow in it…so yes, keep responding in love and may God bless you and everybody who visits here!

  22. Thank you Martin, thank you.

You are absolutely right, all topics on this blog are a matter of life and death and the people with negative comments are those who don’t understand what they are talking about and are ignorant to true doctrine. It’s also tough from my side to answer everyone and be correct all the time, this is why I spend so much time in prayer, asking Jesus to help me answer each and every single comment and let it not come from me alone.

It is so vitally important to study the Bible and more importantly I have realised over the last few months that in these times we are living in that it is vitally important to study the bible by ones self by the guidance of the Holy Spirit only and not be indoctrinated by men who give you their version of what scripture means.

When I got saved, I was completely new to Christianity in the sense that I had no idea that there were even different denominations. I found out very quickly (3 weeks) that the Christianity in the world was not genuine and I got stuck head first into finding out who Jesus is and what the Bible means in my life. I have not been indoctrinated, one bit, by any man’s teachings. I rely soley on the Holy Spirit for guidance once I am sure, only then do I go find confirmation from other born again Christians writings.

This is what I am trying so hard to tell people to do, to stop relying on other peoples sermons and explanations of scripture and to let the Holy Spirit guide them, if they don’t they are going to come unstuck and very quickly.

Thank you so much for you comment, and please if you feel the urge to comment more lol 😉 you are more than welcome.

I dont Understand why people like judging people and their doings, as God said do not judge, We rather Blame God for allowing people to peform miracle in his name and deceiving his children, because a bible states that beware of false prophets who will heal , peform all miracles with my name. but how will we know that these is a false prophet? Why God cant expose them , like when world restoration service exposes satanism? Why those who heal in Jesus name falsely cant be exposed to awake us? we are noe in a dilemma, we cant differentiate between black and white, like other churches a prayer is prayed in the name of edward , engenas and barnabas as the intermediator between the congregets and God via them . is these wrong or right? confused.

  24. Dipolelo

    >>I dont Understand why people like judging people and their doings, as God said do not judge,

Wrong. We are to judge righteously: http://www.discerningtheworld.com/2010/09/11/as-christians-we-must-judge-righteously/

    >>We rather Blame God for allowing people to peform miracle in his name and deceiving his children, because a bible states that beware of false prophets who will heal , peform all miracles with my name.

No one is blaming God for anything. I don’t know where you get this from.

    >>but how will we know that these is a false prophet?

We know they are FALSE because they preach lies and they twist the gospel of Jesus Christ and they steal money from people to build little empires.

    >>Why God cant expose them , like when world restoration service exposes satanism?

What do you think this website is going?

    >>Why those who heal in Jesus name falsely cant be exposed to awake us? we are now in a dilemma, we cant differentiate between black and white, like other churches a prayer is prayed in the name of edward , engenas and barnabas as the intermediator between the congregets and God via them . is these wrong or right? confused.

I don’t understand what you are asking.

  25. BigV says:

Why is it that everyone who resembles what Christ said we would be is called a false prohet – Mark 16, John 14 ??
I find myself looking at my churches around me and many do not portray what Christ said we would. We are commissioned to bring the Kingdom to earth – The sign of those who believe is they will….. If were not we may have to examine ourselves or seek God and contiually ask Him WHY??. Thanks for reading my thoughts. Merry Christmas

  26. BigV

Because this SPECIFIC ONE IS 😉

  27. Rev. Timothy says:

A young lady who I pastor just returned from Spirit Word’s Bible School. She was verbally abused and physically beaten up by AnnaLise, Kobus van Rensburg’s wife. This abuse needs exposed. Annalise needs help and both of them should step down from ministry for this. Other reports from the Bible School are horrifying and and embarrassment to Christian Ministry.

  28. Timothy

Oh my word. This is terrible.

How does one proceed on something like this? Will your young lady write a testimony which I can put online? What about the other reports…?

  29. Bryan says:

Kobus preaches good stuff, but unfortunately he preaches law when it comes to giving. He is falling into the trap of many other tele evangelists of using networks to further their own personal gain nad tehn claim that they are prosperous because of their giving! He may prosper, but one has just to visit Spirit word to see the wealth is not spread around. Recently I went to a service and couldn’t get prayed for as I had no money in my pocket. One had to come up and give the visiting pastor money to get prayed for! So I lost out, not rich enough. Apart from this the other problem is that apart from Kobus and a few folk at his church, the church is far from being friendly. maybe they are a bit wary of strangers who seem to come to get rather to give? Anyway he is a great man of God and I wish he succeeds in spreading much of his good teaching.

  30. Bryan

If he is a great man of God then no one these terrible things you mention would be taking place. And secondly his teaching are FALSE.

Bryan, do you know the Bible? In fact I challenge you, to a one on one; I will prove to you that Kobus preaches a false gospel and you must prove to me using the bible that he preaches the truth. Then afterward, tell me if this is a man of God or not? ok? How about it?
