DISCIPLINE – Worldly vs Biblical

What springs to mind when you hear the word discipline ? To some it may conjure up thoughts of cruelty, uncivilized behaviour, lovelessness, and primitive brutality. If you are into psychology and especially child psychology these are the thoughts that will govern your mind.

And just to refresh your mind that psychology, of whatever strain, is diametrically opposed to God’s Word and his instructions, here are some quotes from the lips of a few leading psychologists.

eli-falling-off-his-chair - discipline

Papa Eli’s ancient child psychology and its result – breaking his neck when falling backward to his death from his stool.

The Shaman (witch doctor) . . . can be viewed as an early psychotherapist (Herbert Bensen, M.D. Harvard professor).

The basic model of man that led to the development of [Eastern] meditational techniques is the same model that led to humanistic psychotherapies (Lawrence leShan, past president of the “Association for Humanistic Psychology {AHP}).

The core of the problem, which psychological and psychiatric research has not resolved yet, and is unlikely to resolve, consists in a correct distinction between pathological behaviour of a psychic nature and demonic invasion (Eugenio Fizzoti, Professor: The Psychology of Religion, School of Education, Pontifical Salesian University, Rome).

It is indeed shocking that many, if not most forms of psychotherapy currently offered to consumers are not supported by credible scientific evidence. (R. Christopher Barden, psychologist, lawyer and president of the National Association for Consumer protection in mental Health Practices).

Psychiatry has been willing to sanctify its values with the holy water of medicine and offer them up as the true faith of Mental health. It is a false Messiah. (E. Fuller Torrey, Internationally respected psychiatrist).

Double Belonging / Christian Buddhism

Dalai Lama & Rob Bell - Double Belonging / Christian BuddhismDouble Belonging or Christian Buddhism

Romans 14:8 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

“If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or we die, we belong to the Lord.”

The modernized version of Romans 14:8 sounds like this:

“If we live, we live to the Lord AND Buddha, and if we die, we die to the Lord AND Buddha. So then, whether we live or we die, we belong to the Lord AND Buddha”

One of the most dangerous and skewed peculiarities of the Emergent Church is its mistaken view of suffering. Though they may disagree with this statement and argue that their understanding of suffering is firmly based on what the Bible says about it, careful examination shows that their opinion of suffering is rooted in Buddhism or more precisely in “Christian Buddhism”.

A Very Lonely Path

The Narrow Way - lonely pathA Very Lonely Path for a Genuine Christian

John 21:18-22 Amplified Bible (AMP)

18 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, when you were young you girded yourself [put on your own belt or girdle] and you walked about wherever you pleased to go. But when you grow old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will put a girdle around you and carry you where you do not wish to go.

19 He said this to indicate by what kind of death Peter would glorify God. And after this, He said to him, Follow Me!

20 But Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved, following-the one who also had leaned back on His breast at the supper and had said, Lord, who is it that is going to betray You?

21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, Lord, what about this man?

22 Jesus said to him, If I want him to stay (survive, live) until I come, what is that to you? [What concern is it of yours?] You follow Me!

Music: Compromising God’s Standards to Accommodate Youth

There is a growing tendency among the Evangelical churches throughout the world to compromise the presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to draw the youth. The idea of attracting or drawing them into the church is perhaps very commendable. No one, who has a burning desire to obey our Master’s command to go into the entire world and make disciples of all peoples, will deny this.

Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Christ

Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Christ

Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Christ

All of these prophesies were made hundreds, sometimes thousands, of years before Jesus Christ was born. Looking in the face of how He literally fulfilled them all (plus hundreds more), it is an impossibility that He is not the Messiah, i.e., the Savior of the world.

The ONLY person… past, present or future… who could fulfill all these prophecies is Jesus Christ.

Top 10 Most Influential Christian Leaders of 2010

[DTW note: The most amazing things about all these men and women is this:  None of then are actually Chrisitan. They say they are Christian as they present you with their branded version of the Gospel. But that does not count.  You are either for Jesus Christ 100% or you are against him.  These people below preach another gospel, follow another Christ – therefore it is safe to say that they are 100% against Jesus Christ. – Please see notes next to each persons name.]

Evangelist of the year – Reinhard Bonnke

The legendary evangelist has brought million of people in Africa to the Lord. Even as Reinhard is in his 70’s, his passion for Jesus is still going strong and he desires to awaken Europe, which has been spiritually asleep, to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In addition to massive crusades, he views the internet as a great tool for evangelism and updates his Facebook page everyday. Reinhard has also prepared a successor for himself. Collage of False Prophets and False Teachers

Collage of False prophets and teachersThere are millions of false teachers and false prophets in the world today, below is a list of just some of the the major false prophets and teachers around.

Matt 7:15-20 Jesus says, “Beware of the FALSE PROPHETS, who come to you in SHEEP’S CLOTHING but INWARDLY ARE RAVENOUS WOLVES. You can identify them by their FRUIT, that is, by the way they ACT. Can you pick grapes from Thornbushes, or Figs from Thistles? (17) A GOOD TREE produces GOOD FRUIT, and a BAD TREE produces BAD FRUIT. A GOOD TREE can’t produce BAD FRUIT, and a BAD TREE can’t produce GOOD FRUIT. So every TREE that does not produce GOOD FRUIT is chopped down and thrown into the Fire. Yes, just as you can identify a TREE by its FRUIT, so you can IDENTIFY PEOPLE BY THEIR ACTIONS.”

Matt 24:4-5 Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone Mislead you, for MANY will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive MANY.”

To Tattoo or Not too Tattoo, That is the Biblical Question

ERIKA SCHULTZ / THE SEATTLE TIMES - Matt Sawdon covers Erica Armendariz's tattoo with plastic after working on her religious iconography at Sunday's 10:30 a.m. service at the Gold Creek Community Church in Mill Creek. Below left: Armendariz started her tattoo with religious images a year ago.  Tattoos at Mill Creek church pierce skin, soul

A Mill Creek church invited its members to be tattooed during Sunday services.

By Nick Perry  Seattle Times staff reporter – November 23, 2009

[Notes by DTW in Green – updated 1 Dec 2009.]

The sight of a woman being tattooed live on the altar accompanied by the sound of a buzzing ink gun provided a startling backdrop to Sunday’s evangelical sermon.

Your parent’s church service this was not. In the drive to stay relevant, the Gold Creek Community Church has been hosting a series called “Permanent Ink” that featured Sunday’s live-tattoo finale.

The Mill Creek church is not exactly staid – booming 20-minute rock sets launch regular sermons – yet the pastors acknowledge this series was pushing societal norms.

“We’ve said from the start that we are not advocating tattoos – nor discouraging them,” said pastor Larry Ehoff.

“We think of it as amoral. It’s neither immoral nor moral, it’s just the choice of a person.”

Ehoff said the church is telling the same story of Jesus as always, it’s just finding different ways to tell it.

Sharon Snell was one of several congregants who volunteered to be tattooed Sunday. At the noon service, she got on stage and faced away from about 150 parishioners while tattoo artist Matt Sawdon worked on the image of a police shield on her lower back.

A Fascinating Interview with Barack Obama

Barack Obama - interviewObama’s Fascinating Interview with Cathleen Falsani

Tursday, November 11, 2008

The most detailed and fascinating explication of Barack Obama’s faith came in a 2004 interview he gave Chicago Sun Times columnist Cathleen Falsani when he was running for U.S. Senate in Illinois. The column she wrote about the interview has been quoted and misquoted many times over, but she’d never before published the full transcript in a major publication.

What do you believe?

I am a Christian.

Benny Hinn – Obama is a Good Man, a Christian Man

Benny Hinn

Benny Hinn says on a Fox New interview on the 9th October 2009 here near the end of the video:

Benny Hinn, regarding Obama being ‘the’ anti-Christ:

“… It’s not Obama no.  It’s not Obama. I have been asked that question many times, and the answer is no.  He is not, he is not the anti-Christ.  He’s a good man, a Christian man.  I pray for him.  I pray that God will give him success.  And I pray that He will support his will.”

A good man?  A Christian man?  He prays that God will give him success and support Obama’s will?  And what is Obama’s will exactly?

I suppose that is what one antiChrist would say to another…

Benny Hinn does not have the greatest track record when it comes to fortune telling the future.  In fact he is so bad at prophesying that in the 1990’s he predicted 6 major events that would happen and none of them came true.

Obama might or might not be THE antiChrist, but he sure as nuts is an antiChrist and so is Benny Hinn.

A New Breed – Are you one of them?

new breedFor a long time now I have been reading about the following:  ‘move into the supernatural, third wave, revival, touch not my anointed, kindgom of heaven, Melchizedek Order, New Apostles and Prophets, Army of God, New Breed, move into new things, new revelation, new generation of Christians, etc, etc, etc’.  And I have noticed a distinct pattern in most of what all the ‘Prophets’ of today are preaching.  It’s almost like they are all joined at the hip, connected via an anti-Christ spirit directing them to all speak the same rubbish, leading their already deceived flock futher and futher into a big big lie.  People if you believe this stuff, please I beg of you to open your eyes and see the truth for you are caught up in a deception second to none.  Get out of this now, before it’s too late!!!

A newsletter by Jewel van der Merwe – Volume 1, Number 2 June 1990 which I received via email:

A New Breed

The thought of something “new” is always scintillating to the senses. In a society that from childhood is looking for a new fad, it is not surprising that a preposterous new doctrine would be sweeping the church. The most disconcerting aspect is that this time we can not question this doctrine. It must be accepted blindly as a “new revelation” coming from the “anointed” Last Day “prophets.” If we question, we are: (1) divisive, (2) have a “Jezebel spirit” and even, (3) called witches.
