What did YOU think Revival meant?

what-did-you-think-revival-meant

Well whatever you think it means, you are wrong.  Unless of course you agree with my conclusion which is correct.

I once bought a Christianity Today magazine, paged through it and thought, “this will come in handy one day”.  Five months later I picked it up again, and I realised that day had arrived.

[Emphasis added to article below]

Is Revival Really Here?

What are the next steps toward true revival?

by Michael Cassidy – Christianity Today – November 2009

“THE COVER OF THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE OF Today read:   ”Revival in the Land”.  Rodney Howard-Browne apparently thinks it is.  So does Angus Buchan.  Could be!  Who am I to argue with these brothers?   Yes I’m not so sure if it’s real revival just yet, or only pockets of it.

I’d be hesitant to say how I would recognise a national revival.  I have however, had exposure to the so-called East African Revival which has gone on for over 60 years in a sustained way, especially in Uganda and Rwanda.  Yes both countries produced genocidal type happenings in the 80′s and 90′s.  I did also have a perplexing week at the Airport Vineyard Church in Toronto celebrated for the Toronto Blessing.

Paul Washer – Practice the Presence: Silence and Meditation

paul-washer-practice-the-presence-silence-and-meditation

I received an email and in it it said:   “I thought Paul Washer was solid until I listened to this sermon…”   Thank you for emailing me.  This article is for you.

Notes on the Youtube video below:

The first part has audio problems, but after minute 4:44 the audio is fixed. It breaks my heart to hear him repeating the same lies and leading sincere people away from genuine Faith in Christ. The Presence of God is not an experience. I am in God’s Presence by Faith, not by being silent and sitting at His feet. To be sitting at His feet means that you are learning from Him the truth that is written in the Word of God.

Comments are sprinkled throughout.  At the very beginning of the message he speaks of silence and meditation (5:50) and cites a poem or something that refers to the sacred silence (6:53).  The part were he talks about Practice the Presence is at (21:45) – Paul Washer is quoting “Brother Lawrence – Contemplative Monk”  (1611- 1691).

You can drive, but you won’t get very far!

you-can-drive-but-you-wont-get-very-far

It’s coming folks.  The day where people are going to be tagged like cattle is almost upon us.  The Word of God says that you are NOT to accept this Mark…

Revelation 13:16   [AMP]  16 Also he compels all [alike], both small and great, both the rich and the poor, both free and slave, to be marked with an inscription [stamped] on their right hands or on their foreheads,   17 So that no one will have power to buy or sell unless he bears the stamp (mark, inscription), [that is] the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Revelation 13:16   [KJV] 16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

So there are 2 types of marks:  One being in or on the forehead and the other being in or on the right hand.

Tony Blair Looks To US Pastor Rick Warren In Bid To Unite Faiths

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/mar/14/tony-blair-faith-foundation-america/

Tony Blair is preparing to launch a “faith offensive” across the United States over the next year, after building up relationships with a network of influential religious leaders and faith organisations.

According to the annual accounts of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, a UK-based charity that promotes cohesion between the major faiths, the foundation is to develop a US arm that will pursue a host of faith-based projects. The accounts show that his foundation has an impressive – and, in at least one case, controversial – set of faith contacts. Sitting on some £4.5m in funds as of April last year, mostly gathered through donations, it is now well placed to make its voice heard.

The foundation’s advisory council of religious leaders includes Rick Warren, powerful founder of the California-based Saddleback church. It attracts congregations of nearly 20,000 and is reportedly one of the largest in the US. Warren, who has addressed the UN and the World Economic Forum in Davos, has been named one of the “15 world leaders who matter most” and one of the “100 most influential people in the world”.

Minister Tries to Take Down Discerning the World

minister-tries-to-take-down-discerning-the-world

I decided to take a 24 hour break from my website on Friday, to cook a scrumptious curry, chill, relax, and watch TV.  At around 7PM I start to receive phone calls, and emails are flooding in asking me what’s wrong with my website?  It says it has been suspend.  I thought, ‘oh great, it can only be 1 of 2 people who did this…’

I go to check and guess what?  This person (I can’t mention the Minister’s name) filed a legal complaint against my website for me writing an article about him going to the necessary authorities to get me shut down - he then deletes his article so it looks like I’ve made a false claim.  It’s smart, I’ll give him that.  But that’s all.

But as usual the complaint was in vain, because I am a child of the One and Only Living God who sent His only Son Jesus Christ, who protects me and looks after me and He makes sure that false teachers are exposed.  And sometimes I don’t even have to say much, because these people make matters FAR worse for themselves by attacking my blog. Because in doing so they expose themselves and others to an even greater extent.  Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together?

These people’s attempts to stop me are useless as their god is useless.

1 Kings 18:21-46

21And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.

22 Then Elijah said to the people, “I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

Wars and Rumours of Wars

Discerning the Times We Live In – Wars and Rumours of Wars

by Michael Anthony – 30 December 2009

Some say that what we call ‘peace’ is only that silent period whilst foes reload their weapons. Wars, like poverty and injustice will always be with us. We could be witnessing developments that are creating the conditions for major unrest and major wars. My primary reason for believing this is Jesus Christ’s warning of wars and rumours of wars (Matthew 24:6) as we draw nearer to the end. My secondary reason is how I read some of the evidence.

The extent of this financial crisis has not been fully revealed yet, I have heard from various sources that the dollar is being artificially sustained. Britain is reeling like a drunken sailor and Obama has been spending money like no ones business. Anybody that knows how the financial system really works is very concerned. If you have the bandwidth please watch these videos, there are animated so that anybody can follow the commentary. It is an extremely insightful but shocking expose of the monetary system.

Manhattan Declaration – WARNING – Leads You Toward A New Religion

Manhattan Declaration - http://www.manhattandeclaration.org“PERHAPS MILLIONS” BEING LED TOWARD THE NEW AGE/NEW SPIRITUALITY  – December 4th, 2009

Thank you to LightHouseTrails for this SPECIAL REPORT

[Pictures of Manhatten Declaration Logo and Chuck Colson added by DTW]

We are seeking to build a movement – hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of Catholic, Evangelical, and Eastern Orthodox Christians who will stand together.–Manhattan Declaration

On November 20th, a document called the Manhattan Declaration was released at an event at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. The Declaration has received wide media coverage, and as of this writing about ¼ million people have signed the document, with a current average of about 10 people a minute adding their names (around 14,400 a day).Chuck Colson

One of the four drafters of the Declaration is Chuck Colson who also co-authored a document in the 90s called Evangelicals and Catholics  Together. The ECT is similar in nature in that it identifies both Catholicism and Evangelicalism as part of the Christian church and asks members of both groups to unite in areas that they have in common. With this new document, the emphasis is on morality: gay versus traditional marriage, abortion, stem cell research, assisted suicide,  etc.

According to a Christianity Today article on the Manhattan Declaration, both prominent evangelical leaders and Catholic leaders are main signatories:

The declaration has received national attention because, in addition to many American evangelical leaders, its [main] signatories include nine Catholic archbishops, the president of the Catholic League, the primate of the Anglican Church of Nigeria, and the primate of the Orthodox Church in America.

Given the fact that a large number of the main 149 signatories have directly or indirectly promoted advocates of the New Age/New Spirituality (i.e., contemplative/emerging), it is not difficult to see that (even with good intentions) the Manhattan Declaration may provide an appealing and subtle avenue into the New Spirituality  for a vast number of signers, many of whom might not otherwise have had exposure to it given the conservative tendencies of most of the signers.

The Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2009

[NEWS FLASH!!  Updated 3 Dec 2009 with some seriously scary info]

We have people called “The Family” also known as “The Fellowship”

We have Don Schmierer of Exodus International and the International Healing Foundation.

We have Scott Lively of Defend the Family- you can check out his story here:   Defending The Family

We have Caleb Brundidge (Sexual Reorientation Coach) for Extreme Prophetic ministries run by none other than Patricia King – Apostle/Prophetess in New Apostolic Reformation, big supporter of Todd Bentley and Rick Joyner, etc.   New Apostolic Reformation / International Coalition of Apostles headed by C. Peter Wagner.

Last year I wrote an article on Caleb Brundidge;  he is an itinerant for Extreme Prophetic and a DJ for what he called “Club Mysterio” that hosted Ekstasis Worship dances/raves with Patricia King.  My he has come far in his career since 2008.

We have Rick Warren author of Purpose Driven Life, etc, who has declared Uganda to be a “Purpose-Driven Nation“. Rick Warren also runs the Global P.E.A.C.E plan and is Barack Obama’s Christian adviser.

AOL News-  Politics Daily says

“Warren’s main point man in Uganda was Martin Ssempa, a pastor who is a strong backer of the Anti-Homosexuality bill. Ssempa has appeared at Warren’s Saddleback Church, although Warren distanced himself from Ssempa’s views in October and said he had cut ties with him in 2007.

But in a statement to Newsweek on Sunday, Warren also declined to condemn the pending legislation that Ssempa and others back:

Brian McLaren Thinks Again! On Stuff…

brian-mclaren-thinks-again-on-stuff

brian mclarenIf Brian has any clue as to what real Christianity meant he would not even have written his article below (see orange heading below).  But because we know he battles with concepts such as SIN and REPENTANCE OF SIN we will let Brian think again, that his ‘new kind of Christianity’ is just the schnizzle.  We on the other hand pray the he grasps REPENTANCE OF SIN.

Uganda is proposing  “The Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2009″ is making its way through Uganda’s parliament and will probably become law before Christmas.

Quotes taken from The Urban Coaster

“This year, though, gays can look forward to life imprisonment or the death penalty if they are arrested for certain offences under the proposed law.”

“In 2007 the Church of Uganda consecrated Bishop John Guernsey in Virginia. The Reverend John Kalimi preaches his homophobic message at Saint Vincent’s Cathedral in Dallas-Fort Worth. Pentecostal, anti-gay ministers of mega-churches here, like TD Jakes of The Potter’s House and the Miracle Crusader Benny Hinn went to Uganda on fundraising and soul-getting missions and came back richer.

Protectors of American families like Scott Lively and Rick Warren, who think gay people need healing, threw their support behind Ugandan preacher Martin Ssempa until he started talking to the media about killing homosexuals. Rick Warren of Saddleback Valley Community Church has repudiated Martin Ssempa. Scott Lively of Defend the Family has gone quiet on the subject. “

From Brian McLarens’s website:

Discernment websites …if you believe

I wonder if some of the “discernment websites” that enjoy featuring and critiquing the work of many of my friends and me would be willing to host some discussion on this bill currently proposed in the Ugandan parliament.

I’d be interested in reading whether participants in those blogs agree with the Ugandan bill, and if not, why not. (Details after the jump)…

No Liberation from Resurrecting Liberation Theology

no-liberation-from-resurrecting-liberation-theology

The feeling of cold chills that come over me when I read this, is just not one bit liberating.

chechristchurch - http://frontpagemag.com/2009/11/17/resurrecting-liberation-theology-by-mark-d-tooleyResurrecting Liberation Theology – by Mark D. Tooley

The 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s collapse ought to prompt leftist churchmen to apologize for Liberation Theology, which tried to merge Marxism with Christianity, and aligned church groups with the Soviet Bloc.  Latin America in the 1970’s and 1980’s was especially active soil for Liberationists, where leftist Catholics and Protestants claimed that Castrosim and Sandinistaism were harbingers of God’s Kingdom.

Thankfully, most of organized Liberation Theology has collapsed, with the notable exception of the Middle East, where Western and Palestinian prelates still try to portray Israel as the colonial oppressor and the Palestinians as the victim of imperialism.  But the chief of Brazil’s Lutherans, who also is an officer in the Swiss-based World Council of Churches (WCC), is now claiming that Liberation Theology’s “death certificate” is premature.

Most of Brazil’s Christians are Roman Catholic or Pentecostal, so Walter Altmann, as president of the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession, cannot speak for more than a sliver of Brazil’s churches.  But as moderator of the WCC’s appropriately totalitarian-sounding Central Committee, the Rev. Altmann presumably does speak for some European and U.S. Religious Leftists who still dream of class struggle.

“Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, twenty years ago, many critics have been quick to sign liberation theology’s death certificate,” Altmann regretted in a recent column for the WCC.  “Most of them did so because they understood it to be an apology of bygone Soviet-style socialism. It seems, though, that this death certificate has been issued prematurely.”

Altmann admitted that Liberation Theologians deployed “Marxist categories for socioeconomic analysis and for a critique of capitalism’s evils.”  But he somewhat defensively insisted that the “core of liberation theology has never been Marxism.”  It was apparently only coincidental that Liberation Theologians were never very interested in “liberation” for communist Cuba or Nicaragua under the old Sandinista regime, since they were presumably already “liberated.”

Kim Clement – Obama is God’s Man

kim-clement-obama-is-gods-man

kim ClementI have not been following the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) bandits for a while now, because the Emergent movement took front stage in South Africa and I needed to focus on that.   But I thought it was time to go back and peek into the cracks to see what was and has transpired within the NAR camp and oh my, things are not good.  Not that I expect it to be good…err.

So Kim Clement (born in South Africa) is at it again.  This time with his Obama prophecy.  For once he actually got something right, however the god he speaks about and get’s his information from is NOT the One and only living God who sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sin.

Another reason for posting this prophelie is because of his focus on Africa.  And here at DTW we just love it when the Prophelets speak about Africa.

So here we go, brace yourself for the words of Kim Clement:  taken from The Elijah list

March 29, 08 – Obama Prophecy

THE MIDDLE EAST

God says, “There is a sway in the political arena; a change in your political world. Enough of this discussion about Jeremiah Wright.” God said, “This makes no difference. It is a spirit that has endeavored to rock and sway the people and to divide them.” God said, “I will sway it next week. Yes, I will, and because of Pennsylvania, I will raise up the man I want,” says the Lord, “to rule and to reign and to declare victory in the Middle East.”

We declare victory in the Middle East tonight. We declare victory in America tonight.

For the Spirit of God says, “Hear, oh people of Zion. Those who have been afraid in Zion, those who have been afraid in this nation–fear not! For your news media has intimidated you, and therefore, it is My turn. Next week, I will arise. I will change everything.”

From News 24-  2009-11-06 08:32

Fort Hood, Texas – An Army psychiatrist set to be shipped overseas opened fire at the Fort Hood, Texas Army post on Thursday, authorities said, a rampage that killed 12 people and left 31 wounded in the worst mass shooting ever at a military base in the United States.

The gunman, first said to have been killed, was wounded but alive in a hospital under military guard, said Lt Gen Bob Cone at Fort Hood. He was shot four times, and was on a ventilator and unconscious, according to military officials. “I would say his death is not imminent,” Cone said.

The man was identified as Maj Nidal Malik Hasan, a 39-year-old from Virginia.

President Barack Obama called the shooting at the Soldier Readiness Centre, where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening, “a horrific outburst of violence”.

“It’s difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas,” the commander in chief said. “It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil.”

There was no official word on motive. Hasan had transferred to Fort Hood in July from Walter Reed Medical Center, where he received a poor performance evaluation, according to an official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

Democracy is Over

democracy-is-over

“The road has been a marathon of hurdles but the last hurdle is now removed,” he says, neglecting of course to say that the main “hurdle” has been the democratic process, which he and his ilk have trampled underfoot.”

European Council - www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/IMG/jpg/53dossier5.jpgRichard at EU Referendum writes:

Klaus has signed the treaty. This is just short of eight years since the Laeken Declaration on 15 December 2001, when the European Council adopted a “Declaration on the Future of Europe“, which kick-started the whole charade.

As one of our commentators now puts it, the Czech Republic as a sovereign state ceased to exist on November 3rd 2009, 15:00 CET. And so all the member states of the European Union. For the former satellites of the Soviet empire now in the EU, though, this is particularly poignant. Now that they have been subsumed into a new empire, their independence did not even last 20 years.

Now the battle starts, as much with our own side and the enemy within. One notes that The Tory Boy blog has taken to deleting comments. I’m opening up a new comment thread of our own, which I’ll keep running, under the heading “Lisbon Treaty”. Unlike the freedom-loving Tories, we will not delete posts of which we no not approve.

Talking of “enemies within”, it is interesting to see that Reuters is still perpetrating the deceit that this is a “reform” treaty. That is another of those easy lies for which the “colleagues” are notorious, but it is a shame that the news agencies fall in with it.

Civil lawsuit over Columbia, Ill., murders names Joyce Meyer Ministries

By Nicholas J.C. Pistor – 10/20/2009 from here:   ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH

WATERLOO — The Joyce Meyer Ministries did too little to prevent its security manager, Christopher Coleman, from allegedly murdering his wife and two sons, according to an addition filed Monday to a wrongful-death lawsuit.

The suit, filed here on behalf of Sheri Coleman’s family, now seeks damages “in excess of $50,000″ from the international television ministry as well as Coleman.

It suggests the killings might not have occurred if the ministry had followed its own guidelines and better investigated anonymous threats against Coleman and his family.

Such an inquiry would have revealed that Coleman made the threats himself, the suit says, thus alerting police and the impending victims to the danger.

Coleman, 32, is held in jail in Waterloo pending trial on three counts of first-degree murder in the strangulations of Sheri Coleman, 31, and their sons Garett, 11, and Gavin, 9, who were found dead in their beds May 5.

The prosecution is seeking a death sentence. Coleman has pleaded not guilty.

Police have previously testified in a hearing that Coleman had trysts with a girlfriend from Florida while he traveling on ministry business. They also told the court that the ministry had a policy forbidding employees to divorce, although it wasn’t specifically mentioned in a handbook released by attorneys.

The Religious Left Discovers Radical Islam

The Religious Left Discovers Radical Islam

By: Mark D. Tooley – Monday, September 14, 2009
Copyright © 2007 FrontPageMagazine.com

Amazingly, the recent Islamist atrocities in Pakistan have compelled some left-leaning church groups in the West to admit problems with radical Islam, a difficult admission for many. The current visit to the U.S. by a Pakistani Protestant bishop on behalf of besieged Pakistani Christians is helping to fuel the catharsis.

“Unfortunately, the (anti-Christian) mindset is not restricted to Pakistan but to the whole Arab-Muslim world,” Bishop Alexander John Malik told the National Council of Churches (NCC) during a recent visit with them in New York. “It’s the same from the Sudan to Somalia, from Iraq to Indonesia. This is the mindset of Muslims who consider their religion to be of the utmost importance.” Malik represents the united Church of Pakistan, which is a merger of Anglicans, Methodists, Presbyterians and Lutherans.

Naturally, liberal Protestant groups in the U.S. are accustomed to thinking of Christians as victimizers, not as victims. The typical response of Western church groups towards Islam is to apologize for the Crusades of 1,000 years ago. So having to consider that Christians and other religious minorities in Islamic governed lands must routinely endure discrimination, threats, legal restrictions on worship, arrest, and death is eye-opening. The August attacks on two Christian villages in Pakistan by Islamist mobs motivated by an alleged “desecration” of a Koran resulted in dozens of homes, shops and churches burned, and 7 Christians, including 2 children, killed.
