KYKNET HOE LIEG HULLE VIR JULLE – Kerk is ‘n Werkwoord, AANVAAR!

Johan Geyser - aanvaar

Johan Geyser

Leuens kom hoofsaaklik in mooi geskenkies toegedraai. Sommige van hulle is selfs oordek met die beste Bybel leeromslag en is met potsierlike strikkies toegedraai, net om jou ingebore behoefte na aanvaarding te troetel. Paulus praat daarvan in Galasiërs 4. Die aanhaling kom uit die Amplified Bible omdat dit die kerninhoud van die gedeelte soveel beter omskryf.

17 These men [the Judaizers] eagerly seek you [to entrap you with honeyed words and attention, to win you over to their philosophy], not honorably [for their purpose is not honorable or worthy of consideration]. They want to isolate you [from us who oppose them] so that you will seek them. 18 Now it is always pleasant to be eagerly sought after [provided that it is] for a good purpose, and not just when I am with you [seeking you myself—but beware of the others doing it]. 19 My little children, for whom I am again in [the pains of] labor until Christ is [completely and permanently] formed within you— 20 how I wish that I were with you now and could change my tone, because I am perplexed in regard to you.

Crazy In Love With Jesus

CrazyInLoveWithJesusCrazy in Love with Jesus

– The Mosaiek Church in Fairlands, Johannesburg and the Moreleta Park Dutch Reformed Church in Pretoria are rapidly becoming veritable lift-off pads for all kinds of strange fire to be unleashed on the unsuspecting South African ecclesiastics. In 2010, when they hosted Tony Campolo as guest speaker, I wrote a comment on my blog “Waak en Bid/Watch and Pray” (May 4th 2010) warning them that Mr. Campolo, is a Universalist par excellence who believes that Jesus Christ is mystically present in all people even though they may not know it. Like Brian McLaren who believes that Christianity and Islam are compatible, Tony Campolo is of the opinion that mysticism (the core doctrine of the Emerging Church) is the catalyst between Christianity and Islam. Tony says:

“We cannot allow our theologies to separate us” (speaking on the relations between Muslims and Christians).

“It seems to me that when we listen to the Muslim mystics as they talk about Jesus and their love for Jesus, I must say, it’s a lot closer to New Testament Christianity than a lot of the Christians that I hear. In other words if we are looking for common ground, can we find it in mystical spirituality, even if we cannot theologically agree, can we pray together in such a way that we connect with a God that transcends our theological differences?” (Tony Campolo, EVANGELICALS AND INTERFAITH COOPERATION, An Interview by Shane Claiborne).

The Emergent-100%-Money-Back-Guaranteed-Church

money-back-guarantee_thumb

The “money-back-guarantee” promise usually applies when you have already received a manufacturer’s product but you’re not satisfied with it and demand your money back. The Emergent Mosaiek Church in Fairlands, Johannesburg, has a new kind of money back guarantee. They refund your money even before you’ve received their products because they don’t like you.

————————————————————————————————————————-

Would you mind if I asked you a question? What would you do if you walked into a Christian bookstore, let’s say CUM Books for example, to buy Stephan Joubert’s newest and much acclaimed book ‘Jesus a Radical Leap’ and the shop assistant told you that they don’t have it in stock but that they can order it for you if you so desired. ‘That would be nice, thank you. I am so keen to read it that I am prepared to pay the full price now. Can I do that?’ ‘Sure,’ says the shop assistant., “just write down your name, address and phone number here and we will let you know as soon as it has arrived. Here’s your receipt.’ And off you go, waiting in great anticipation for the day when you will have Stephan Joubert’s newest book in your hands to read about this Jesus who leaps and jumps in radical ways.

Kilroy was Here or was it Leonard Sweet?

Leonard Sweet

Leonard Sweet, a leading figure in the Emergent Church (although he denies having any ties with them any longer – read here and here), is touring South Africa and telling the pastors of the Dutch Reformed Church in particular that they must adapt or die. Stephan Joubert, one of his most ardent protégés of E-Church fame is sponsoring Sweet’s visit. He appeared as guest speaker at the Mosaiek Kerk in Fairlands, Johannesburg, and the Pierre van Ryneveld DRC in Pretoria on May 28 and will be giving his final lecture in the large auditorium of the Moreleta Park DRC on Saturday, June 1.

This is how Neels Jackson of the Afrikaans newspaper, Beeld, reported on Sweet’s appearance at the Pierre van Ryneveld DRC. Leonard Sweet said:

“If the Protestant Christendom does not learn the language of the present culture, its future is dark.

Sweet said that the Christendom [note: he does not say Christianity] is the largest on earth. The Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox and Pentecostal group are growing.

The one tradition that is not growing is Protestantism. Sweet warned that 2017 would turn out to be a funeral rather than a feast for Protestantism.”
