There is a big difference between Prophecy (foretelling the future) that has ceased, versus prophecy as in preaching and teaching the gospel which edifies the believer. The bible contains all we need to know it is God’s complete revelation to us, and is totally sufficient to edify every single believer on earth. The bible contains all we need to know regarding the future…or doesn’t it Paul, is the bible (God’s word to us) lacking in any way??

No, it seems to be very true Lee, I didn’t just go post this article in a flash after I heard the news. I’ve read everything and boy is there a lot of info out there on this matter and it appears to be very true. However Miriam says she is innocent.

I’m afraid whether or not Miriam was a fraud is irrelevant to me. I would have to disagree with the statement by Stephen (?)
“1) There are no such things are Prophets in this day and age
2) All genuine prophets are mentioned in the Bible”
This means he’s a cessationist believing that once the scriptures of the New Covenant were canonised YHWH and His Son Yeshua quit using prophets. I recall Paul saying the ministry gifts of apostles prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors were given to the Body of Messiah til it arrived at the fulness of maturity and believe me, that has NOT happened. Instead we see most believers today are immature, shallow, lacking discernment, and Laodicean. Over the last 40 years of my walk, I’ve observed a steady fading of the embers so to speak. One rarelly, if at all, hears messages from pulpits on hell, sanctification, eschatological signs of where we’re at, the blood of Yeshua, and more I won’t belabour you by listing. My “bible” tells me that “My people perish for a lack of knowledge” and “without a vision the people perish”. It also tells me that the NT ministry of prophet encompasses exhortation, admonition, edification, and encouragement. Come to think of it, that typified the OT prophets too. Sure they had visions from time to time but mainly they were YHWH’s mouthpieces to admonsih and warn, to exhort the people that they should repent, return to YHWH and throw themselves upon His mercy confessing their waywardness. My scriptures tell me ini the OT ” I AM YHWH I change not”, followed in the NT by “YESHUA HA MASHIACH the same yesterday, today, and forever”. I fail to see how modern Churchianity thinks they’re so much better than the Israelites that they have no need of the gift of prophetic ministry. Let’s not forget that Paul also wrote he wished all believers would prophesy – in that he was ehcoing Moses who said the same thing when told people without the camp were prophesying.

I never cared for miriam’s blog, for that reason alone she is clearly a criminal, it is obvious.

Please read this regarding Prophecy (Are Prophets for Today or has Prophecy Ceased?) and then maybe you better will understand where people go wrong in their interpretation of the word ‘prophecy’ in scripture – you might get a pleasant surprise 🙂

Yes that exactly described me….

Our Father in heaven knows us so well and He knows what is needed for us to learn obedience. Sometimes we are “stubborn” and then He will allow us to “wander” a bit until we are once again “arrested” and convicted by the Spirit . After our repentance, this will then become a “learning” and a “growing” opportunity as we reflect back on “what happened” and learn from it.
