Ryan Peter is my real name as well as Ryan Strydom, that’s because I have two first names and a surname, like many other people do in this world. I use Ryan Peter because it’s easier for overseas people to pronounce, as I do lot of work with overseas clients.

It just dawned upon me and I thought I’d share with some individuals commenting on this blog…

The God of the Bible is a Holy God and we should stop loving ourselves less and start loving Him MORE!

If we love Him we will obey His commandments. He said that even if an angel came with another gospel that we should reject it.

Does angel of light ring a bell…?

We find ourselves in a time where more often than not another gospel is preached because lawlessness has increased, the love of many has grown cold and people have become lovers of self – rather than lovers of God.

And what’s wrong with that? Ever heard of investigative journalism? You should have, given that your research is supposed to be so amazing.

So after arguing and giving me grief, Ryan goes to read my article (in full or only a scanned read, we will never know) on Rob Bell, Shane Hipps and Peter Rollins at the PPP conference and then goes to Novuslumen website (a guy who was at the conference and literally transcribed the entire thing and what each one of the above Emergent speakers said) and says this:

You have already shown us what your discernment looks like in the way that you have ‘critiqued’ DTW, so don’t worry about that. There are a lot of quotes from Shane Hipps right here on this blog in the comment section of Rob Bell, Shane Hipps, Peter Rollins teaching Arts and Crafts? No, Never, Can’t be! I look forward to reading your comments there. That should balance things out a bit.

I don’t know who Shane Hipps is but that gives me an idea. Maybe what I’ll do is offer my critique on some of these teachers/teachings DTW has critiqued, and DTW and yourself can critique my critique and see what they think of it?

I don’t like necessarily critiquing guys directly (as in, mention names etc.), but if it’s going to get my point across as to what I believe discernment should look like it may be an edifying process for us all, me included, especially if you guys critiqued my critique. Give me one or two days and I’ll put something up on my blog and I’ll email DTW the details. She can let you know the details if you’re interested, as I don’t feel it’s fair to advertise my blog at her site.

I promise to be ruthless – I’ll match everything up to scripture and offer my own discernment on the teachings, and you guys can tell me what you think.
