Thank you for responding Tom. This has set me back on the path to seek God's Truth according to His Word. I also understand why I was so troubled after that specific sermon. There were just too many things said and Bible verses used out of context, which was in contrast with preaching the "unadulterated Gospel of Christ Jesus". I am greatful for your response because the more I searched ,after your response, the more I delved deeper in the Word for understanding and I was reminded that we are to "test" what is being preached. The only Truth is true if it is truth according to God's Word. Blessings William.

William

. . . what is more important to be acceptable to God

The most important thing is to be sanctified in God's Truth (His Word) so that you may preach the unadulterated Gospel of Christ Jesus unto the salvation of their souls and to disciple them in a biblical way.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (Joh 17:17)

What is more important? Is knowing, believing fathfully in Jesus Christ and with the hope of eternal salvation and life more iportant than making disciples. Is knowing and following the true Jesus not better and luving a life filled with His love and by the grace of God not the bettee way. I ask because so nany preach condemnatuon regarding the Scripture "you shal know them by their fruits", meaning if you have lead more people to Christ, you have surety of a better hope (more fruit, more reward). I am wondering what is the Truth here because why should one walj out of church on Sundays feelung guilty for not discipling enough after this type of sermon being preached. I am at a non-denominational congregation and this bothers me, because what is more important to be acceptable to God? Blessings William

I have just glanced through some of the info ... We all need to operate in a gift of discernment in this day and age we are living in. We have moved out of church because a great percentage of people believe that you need to be connected/involved in a church - My opinion and what I felt the Holy Spirit spoke to us 10yrs ago was "come out of her my people .." That is Babylon .. churches I'm afraid to say have become like that - no more a safe place for people who want to worship and listen to the Word .. churches have become "franchises" and because of these reasons we left as we couldn't sit under a "covering" so to speak that is not 100% godly and pure. It is scary to think that we can get sidetracked and blindsided with issues and with doctrines and with ideas of men .. I cannot get passed the fact that according to the Word the Holy Spirit of God is our covering, no natural covering as far as I am concerned. My honest opinion is that we as a people are responsible to have an intimate and valued relationship with God the Father and know His Word and walk and talk in His ways which is taught in His Word, and we have to do what our hands find to do in the Kingdom of God .. Sometimes we are mesmarised by other spirits that have invaded churches and operating through people .. we can testify of the fact that we have been misled and that it cost us dearly in every which way .. People can have their own ideas and maybe throw a stone but I can tell you, we have been there, done that, and finally got the t-shirt to prove it.. Churches look like disco clubs these days with flashing lights and black walls and roofs inside and the 1.5m high speakers and wild sound systems that blows you away, is by no means to me a place to worship a Sovereign Holy God and have an intimate time in His presence.

Hi Martin,

Thank so much for your encouragement. Sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel when I hear and see how my own kin and close friends are being eaten up by these charlatans. Indeed, Paul said:

For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. (1 Co 11:19)

Hi Debs and Thomas.
I'm still with you guys. Nice to hear from you. You're still doing a great job. Though I haven't been commenting of late, I've been ill for a while and had lots of other probs. But I'm still trying to fight the good fight and still tuning in to your comments. Hopefully, I'll get back into commenting more again quite soon.
I try to think of Barnabas' name from Acts 4:36, which means "son of consolation--or encouragement" as we need encouragement and to be encouraged. Especially so at this time as "evil men wax worse and worse" and it seems to me to get more so by the day. Hopefully, I can try to do encourage. Fair's fair as you do that for me--and for others.
I will keep on praying for you as I see Robbie's doing. (Thanks, Robbie for that piece of inspiration because this is a time when we all do need to be as bold as lions. Good terms for Tom and Debs: "Lion and Lioness." I like that, especially as we are servants of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah [Rev 5:5]!)
These are trying times so I will certainly continue to pray for you. It's like wherever we turn at this end time, when apostasy is everywhere and churchianity has replaced Christianity. When we contend for the faith once delivered, it truly annoys those who love to have their ears tickled. And people often think that by contending for the faith we are trying to cause division.
Here's something I read recently from the late Jack Chick (who I didn't always agree with) as I think it's an inspiring comment:
"I'm causing division all right, but not between our brethren. We need to be specific about different kinds of division between our brethren in Christ; those who hold to the true gospel that we are saved by faith, and faith alone. But the Bible says that we must separate from those teaching false doctrine--another gospel. It's a division between the saved and the lost.
"Matt 10:34: 'Think not that I am come to send peace on earth, I come not to send peace but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father and the daughter against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man's foes shall be of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me. He that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."
That's negative to the name-it-and-claim-it folks but they really ought to read Matt 24 if they think Jesus Christ was never negative and only tried to please! They could also try reading Revelation.
It's always a delight to read DTW. We all need correction. I know I do.
Thanks and God bless.

For the word of God is living and powerful! It is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart. -Hebrews 4:12

"Many churches today are full of silent, gentlemanly diplomats who do not want to make waves. Nobody wants trouble! So the devil’s kingdom goes unchallenged."

We need more righteous- to be as bold as lions.”
