Carol.

You should make very sure that it is not you who is blaspheming the Holy Spirit by attributing to Him that is clearly not of Him.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Aramaic Bible in Plain English - John 18:6 "And when Yeshua said to them, “I AM THE LIVING GOD”, they went BACKWARD and fell to the ground." "The words “went backward” come from the Greek word aperchomai. In this case, the words depict the soldiers and temple police staggering and stumbling backward, as if some force has hit them and is pushing them backward. The word “fell” is the Greek word pipto, which means to fall. It was used often to depict a person who fell so hard, it appeared that he fell dead or fell like a corpse. The Jesus we serve is powerful! There is no force strong enough to resist His power. No sickness, financial turmoil, relational problems, political force — absolutely nothing has enough power to resist the supernatural power of Jesus Christ! When the Great “I AM” opens His mouth and speaks, every power that attempts to defy Him or His Word is pushed backward and shaken until it staggers, stumbles, and falls to the ground!" Referring to your quote, "When you see people falling backwards, know immediately that a false ‘holy spirit’ is at work." This statement then is wrong. Jesus said,"And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand." Be very careful that you do not continue to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. "But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven . . ." You also quote, ". . . as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease. . ." You say, "Tongues has ceased and has been replaced with LOVE" No - clearly this scripture (as quoted) does NOT say tongues has ceased - yet. Does NOT. These gifts will pass away at the end of the age when we no longer need them! As to the 'love' that you said supposedly replaces tongues . . . It may be there - however, I don't think it's coming through in your comments as you'd hoped - sadly.

Thank you John!

This is the ONLY miracle that happened this way. No one can replicate it or use this example and say "well, Jesus also did a partial healing....therefore that explains away all the faith healers in the world today who lay hands on people and then tell you you will gradually get better...it takes time, just have faith."

If you fall for that one, then you are like the disciples in this passage. And Jesus would well say to you "How is it that ye do not understand?"

This miracle only appears in Mark, and is the only miracle that was not instantaneous; it happened gradually. Sight is a common metaphor in Scripture for understanding. The disciples should have seen the deaf man as a picture of themselves, unable to comprehend what Jesus said. This blind man also represented them in their inability to understand what Jesus showed them in verses 11-21. Jesus could and did make them (the disciples) whole, just as He healed this physically limited man. John

In reply to Kate Gladstone.

Dear Kate

Jesus never makes a mistake!

How about you do some bible study yourself. You tell me why Jesus did what He did. I'll give you a hint; Jesus is using this specific miracle as a parable.

It wasn't a mistake, or a failed healing or a partial healing, so what happened there? If you don't know after going to diligently seek the truth yourself, say so, and I will explain to you exactly what happened here.

Mark 8:11-29 (KJV)
11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. 12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation. 13 And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side. 14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf. 15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. 16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread. 17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? 18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember? 19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve. 20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. 21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand? 22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town. 27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? 28 And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.

I have highlighted important verses in the above passage for you

Dear Liz

Because you view True Jesus Church to be the only TRUE church of Jesus Christ, I would have to say that this church is a cult. I found this information on TJC here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cults/comments/4ya2zu/read_this_before_committing_into_true_jesus/
