Wow! How difficult that is! because I use to have all the “right” arguments lined up in terms of what I have learnt at ‘church’ and then suddenly I had to realise but that was not the TRUTH at all! I found myself suddenly thinking what DO I believe now? And then came the hard work, digging in the Word of God and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach me and daily walking that road. Walking in the Spirit as opposed to the flesh is a constant, second by second reminder of who we represent and we’d better be prepared for much ‘pruning’ and laying down of self. Ouch!!

So very true but actually Marion this is not secondary but primarly as the FIRST sin and beginning of man’s fall was and IS PRIDE in all it’s ugly disguises.

Self worship is the new god of this generation…the late Whitney Houston made a a big hit…”The greatest love of all”…ie to love yourself.
Children are educated that way…discipline has gone and ego, overconfidence is over irrigated and we have a self-cented indifferent, undisciplined irresponsible society.

Hi, I’ve been browsing through the articles on your site, most are very informative for present-day Christians (thanks a lot), but I, like Annie and FollowstheWay, still have reservations concerning the 7-yr tribulation ideology. I have been saved for 8 years now, but recently, in the light of what I have learnt concerning many doctrines floating around (including the Word of Faith one, which I proudly supported for quite a while) I started restudying my bible, with a decision to take what it is in at face value, and not with all the contortions and twists some modern day preachers try to put on certain verses.

On the 7-yr tribulation deal, I have to admit I’ve come up against a brick wall finding REAL evidence for it in the bible, and I’m trying my best not to ‘prooftext’ (reading the bible to look for backing for a preconceived or already assumed idea). Anyone reading the bible who has not been taught about this seven year tribulation plan will simply not find it there. Concerning the Daniel 9:27 passage you gave as proof, this is what I see:

Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

I just checked the concordance of the bible and it dates the writing of the book of Daniel at 605-530 BC. If we use your a week for a year analysis that would mean that the Messiah, Jesus came in at around 535-460 BC. But if we use a day for a year analysis, which is used in scriptures such as Numbers 14:34, Ezekiel 4:6 and Luke 13:32, we get that the Messiah came in around 115-40 BC, which given the fact that we are not clear exactly when the commandment to restore Jerusalem was given is a more accurate analysis.

And it would be quite odd for a day to represent a year in Daniel 9:25 and a week to represent a year in Daniel 9:27, don’t you think?

Of course there could be something I’m missing in my analysis so please I would like you to take a closer look at this and let me know if this is still your stance. Thanks.

I was asking myself similar questions as to why I was so blessed as to have had my eyes opened to the real gospel and been shepherded by Him out of the harlot church, when others who seemed sincere and were doing their best to serve God were continuing to labour with a false gospel. I was no better than these folks, and they were no worse than me. Maybe there is more to it, however, the only difference I could find was the suffering I had experienced in my life. In other words, a little thing called a cross!!! Only by having the veil of our flesh torn through the carrying of a cross, the crucifixion of our flesh nature, is it possible to enter into the kingdom of God. In other words by walking the same narrow Way that Jesus walked, and this is what it means to follow Him. Crossless Christianity is not what we have received from the apostles and prophets, Christianity without a cross is merely another religion that uses His name and gets off onto all kinds of tangents.

However, I think you impugned some of your “homework” by including the Dr Walter Martin TBN appearance picture and by it’s inclusion, will cause many readers to infer that Dr Martin (now deceased) was in the same kind of error that OTHERS prominently mentioned time and again in your articles – ARE.

If everyone who ever befriended Chuck Missler through the years are now – guilty by association – a lot of VERY Godly people are in “trouble”.

But, that is not the case, many were misled, yes, and as your research and that of Donna Martin has proved – his deceptions through the years were very clever, very well hidden, and even now, some Godly leaders still want to give him (Chuck) the benefit of the doubt, but hopefully continued research will persuade them –
