God TV – Let’s Just Blame All Our Sins On The Devil

Blame your sins on the devil - God TVGOD TV – Lets just blame the devil for our sins and continue to support him as an angel of light.

Adam’s accusation, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate” (I’m as innocent as a new-born baby, Lord) (Genesis 3:12), and Eve’s lament “The serpent deceived me, and I ate” (I am also as innocent as a new-born baby, Lord). (Genesis 3:13).

This is so prevalent in today’s society. When a man commits adultery with another woman, it is usually his spouse’s fault because she never gave him all the attention he needed.

Didn’t I tell you that we constantly need attention like new-born babies? When the wife becomes involved in an extra marital relationship, it is always the husband who must be held responsible.

Instead of counting our spouses better than ourselves with humility (Philippians 2:3), we demand that our rights and our needs be met before we respond in kind. Oh, don’t worry, we can always blame it on Satan because the Bible says our wrestle is not against flesh and blood but against the devil and his demons.

Forgotten are Paul’s words in Galatians, “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” (Galatians 5:16-17).

And here lies the real crux of the problem – wantonness, greed, gullibility. In fact, the entire Word of Faith Movement is built on a foundation of bricks and mortar made of wantonness, greed and gullibility.

“Faith is a force,” they say and when you’ve learned to govern the spiritual laws you can have what you want (even another man’s wife or another woman’s husband).

This is sheer divination and visualization, some of the most powerful occult practices in Shamanism. Gail Thackray an ex pornstar, who admits she is a medium and has the ability to contact the spirit world, claims she can manifest health, wealth and prosperity.

The only difference between her and the Word of Faith cronies is that she manifests healing and prosperity in the name of her spirit guide called John of God whilst the WOF false prophets do it in the name of Jesus (Remember Matthew 7:21-23?). The WOF teachers are nothing else than self-sanctified mediums.

All it takes is to recognize your own divinity. You too can harness the force of faith. Never again will you have to pray, “Thy will be done.”(1) Rather, your Word is God’s command.(2)

By using your tongue to release the force of faith, you can speak whatsoever you desire into existence.(3) Then you can live happily ever after on this planet of health wealth and prosperity.

No wonder the woman who stole Wendy’s husband, Rory, supposedly heard a voice from God telling her that Rory was her Mr Right and her husband.

This happens quite frequently in the Word of Faith circles. They cannot distinguish between the voice of God and the voice of Satan because they are taught that you can have whatever you want – in Jesus’ Name of course.

Kenneth Copeland who recently climbed into the same bed with the Pope and the Vatican love to quote John 14:13, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son ” but conveniently and deliberately ignores verse 15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

God TV, it’s false teachers and adultery

The woman who stole Wendy’s husband obviously does not care to obey God’s commandment, “You shall not commit adultery.”

Rory and W endy Alec 2There are many people who have been watching, believing, mimicking, following and supporting GOD TV, and have for many years been giving sacrificially to its cause, who have now been shattered by Rory and Wendy Alec’s pending divorce.

And they should be because divorce – especially where kids are involved – is perhaps the most painful experience imaginable, even worse than physical pain. My heart and sympathy go out to Wendy and her children who now have to try and remain calm and collected for the sake of their GOD TV family and to carry on regardless.

However, what makes me extremely angry, is that Steve Beik, the Chief of Staff and a US Board Member of GOD TV, and Andrew White, also a Board Member of GOD TV, as well as Bill Johnson, Lois Gott, Kim Clement, Patricia King and Cindy Jacobs, don’t seem to care a hoot about Wendy’s traumatic experience and feelings and are doing everything in their power to secure the millions of dollars that have been rolling in since GODTV’s inception.

They call it “REVIVAL ALERT”. They followed the same strategy to salvage their “MONETARY REVIVAL ALERT” when Tod Bentley’s divorce caused ripples in the Word of Faith circles. In fact, it was Rory and Wendy Alec who interviewed and unceremoniously restored him to God, and “in faith” prophesied that the so-called revival God began through him will continue to bloom in his ministry.

God TV and Todd Bentley

Todd is the founder of Fresh Fire ministries, the leader of the Lakeland Revival, which was televised on GOD TV in 2008 before he stepped down. Now, back in ministry, he seeks to be reconciled with the GOD TV Tod Bentleyfamily.

“Forgive me for failing – forgive me for letting you down – forgive me for the disappointment,” Todd asks. “What can wash away my sin, nothing but the Blood of Jesus,” sings Pablo Perez as Rory & Wendy publicly forgive Todd and also ask for your forgiveness if you were hurt because of the broadcasts at Lakeland.

When King David sinned and committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband, Uriah, killed, he didn’t go to his people, Israel, to seek reconciliation and say to them “Forgive me for failing – forgive me for letting you down – forgive me for the disappointment.”

He prayed to God and said: “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.” (Psalm 51:4).

Todd, on the other hand, seemed more concerned about his public demeanour and prestige and very eager to have it restored than about his sins against God and Him alone.

It would have been far better for him to have remained in cognito because his so-called restoration to his self-styled revival ministry is at best spiritual harlotry and adultery and far worse than sleeping with another woman besides the one to who you promised to reamin faithful.

My prayer is that God will open Wendy Alec’s eyes to the WOF deception she’s been involved in for so long.

(1) Frederick K.C. Price: “When I first got saved they didn’t tell me I could do anything. What they told me to do was that whenever I prayed I should always say, ‘The will of the Lord be done.’ Now, doesn’t that sound humble? It does. Sounds like humility, it’s really stupidity. I mean, you know, really, we insult God. I mean, we really do insult our Heavenly Father. We do; we really insult Him without even realizing it. If you have to say, ‘If it be thy will’ or’Thy will be done’-if you have to say that, then you’re calling God a fool because He’s the One that told us to ask…. If God’s gonna give me what He wants me to have, then it doesn’t matter what I ask. I’m only gonna get what God wants me to have. So that’s an insult to God’s intelligence. ” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN [16 November 1990].)

I remember the eldest of my two sisters, M, getting involved in that stuff with a group of people she got in with in 2000 or 2001. She had cancer and they urged her to name it and claim it. My wife and I had come out of a cult at the time and, sadly, swallowed some of this name-it-and-claim-it stuff. I know people also from my former cult, who at that time, for whom this wealth and health “gospel” seemed to be working.
When my other sister, P, urged me to get my sister M thinking straight I just kept telling her, “I will back M in whatever she chooses.” I am sorry now that I took that foolish attitude.
In fact, I was agreeing with M at the time and, as my sister, P, had not really taken a stance to get baptised, I saw her as lacking faith or understanding. My sister M’s cancer got worse, in spite of the fact that Wendy told her before that (I think) that she’d be okay.
Had my sister gone to the hospital with her breast cancer in the first place, she would have likely lived longer because her cancer then was still operable.
My main worry now is that M was not saved. It now strikes me that her faith was in these quacks rather than in Jesus. Of course now I see that in retrospecct. So I sadly regret now I didn’t know then what I know now about this name-it-and-claim it stuff.
I notice on a friend’s F/B (who had been in the same cult as my wife and I were) is still into that same stuff thirteen or so years later.
She has lots of positive quotes on her site from secular (I’d imagine) writers, none of which is categorically Christian. All positive thinking. I reneMber ger husband getting angry at me, probably over a decade ago, for saying something negative about Jesse DuPlantis. He said that God was listening to me and that Jesse DuPlantis was a man of God. (Tha’S the Jesse Du Plantis who was caught up to heaven and went into a cable car up to God’s throne. You can find what he “teaches” on Justin Peters’ teachings on youtube.)
It is so sad to think of what happened to my sister and what’s still happening to old friends through this prosperity gospel. I Hope that people who read this article pray that other people–those involved in these unbiblical prosperity teachings–find it on line and realise that they are being deceived.
These prosperity preachers say that we shopuld always be positive and never negative. Jesus must have got that wrong then when you read Matt 24, Luke 13, Revelation, &c! Jesus was openly critical of the Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees. That’s why they wanted to kill Him.
Thank you for this excellent article, Debs and doing as Jude 3 tells us–to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered.

    Interesting post.
I had a very similar experience to Martin Horan’s.
I sense, reading this, that he feels he has let his sister down. How many of us often say “If only I knew then, what I know now”? But the plain fact of the matter is that we didn’t! Such is God’s eternal wisdom.
Martin must in NO way feel responsible, for his ‘failings’ as it were. He must NEVER, ever feel guilty. Is not this charge constantly used against His people-Revelation 12.10?
There is a secular quote that says “Youth is wasted on the young”. (or words to that effect).
I agree wholeheartedly with Martin’s comment that these Prosperity preachers/Word of Faith charlatans teachings are utterly “unbiblical”: They promise the earth, but deliver nothing. Their whole doctrinal ministry is utterly against what God’s Word teaches (this is supported by many other articles on your website).
It is interesting, and it does somewhat surprise me that he quotes Justin Peters a (dreaded?) Calvinist, though his ministry is now tainted by Dispensational teaching. I only say this because of the words Martin has on other pages used to describe those who agree with Calvin’s doctrine.

  3. Jumpy,

When Paul quoted some of the Greek poets did that make him a pagan? (Acts 17:28). Calvinism is worse than paganism but they often do say some wholesome things about the WOF bunch of pagans. That’s why Jesus said:

The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (Matthew 23:2-3).
