Usually when people argue about certain biblical doctrines with their emotions running high and listening to others instead of reading and studying the Bible, they begin to ignore you when you ask them a few simple questions. Mary T English can’t answer my questions and would probably never respond to my post. She would rather choose to remain in ignorance and not answer my questions.

Hi Mary. I have one question for you and maybe later we can take it from there. Paul wrote,

(1Th 5:9) For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Of whom is he speaking here, believers or unbelievers, and how do you explain the phrase “to obtain salvation” in this verse? Salvation from what?

There are more Christian Martyrs in our century, than in all the centuries combined. Men, women and children are being kidnapped, raped, and beheaded by the Boko Haram in Nigeria, Mozambique, China, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, etc.( source: Voice of the Martyrs). Why doesn’t God rescue them with the Rapture? Indeed, we are being persecuted for our faith even now by relatives, neighbors, friends, etc. But there is no crown without the cross. We are to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him. If we focus on the Rapture, it will weaken our faith, not strengthen it. We must be prepared to suffer for our faith. Are we willing to die for Him, or do we keep on hoping for the Rapture to take us away from our troubles?

The Bible calls those whom you refer to as “detractors,” “wolves in sheep’s clothing,” “Cain followers,” “Balaam followers after monetary rewards,” “spots in your feasts of charity, “clouds without water,” “trees without fruit,” “twice dead,” plucked-up roots,” “raging waves of the sea foaming out their own shame,” “wandering stars for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved for ever.” (Jude 1:11-13). The book of Revelation calls them dogs, sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, and idolators who love to speak lies. (Rev 22:15).

Are you prepared to associate with the above people and also agree with their false doctrines?

Manny, I would rather have you looking up to Jesus instead of Dr. Brown or anyone else. Remember, Jesus appeared in person to Paul to present him with the Gospel, including the Pretrib Rapture. How then dare we deny a Pretrib Rapture? Paul described the Pretrib Rapture as a mystery (something which was unknown in the past but is now revealed to mankind). There is only one person who can reveal to man such a mystery — God Himself (Jesus Christ). And so He did when He revealed the Pretrib Rapture to Paul who then penned it down for us in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15”50-58). Jesus, Himself alludes to a Pretrib Rapture in John 14, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:1-3).

This alone debunks a Posttrib Rapture because Jesus’ promise to prepare a place for them in heaven and to take them there definitely does not fit in with a Rapture U-turn at a Posttrib Rapture, that is, from the air where they are going to meet Him and then return to earth to judge the nations. Posttribbers believe that at Christ’s Second Coming, He will first resurrect the dead in Christ and exchange their corruptible bodies with glorious new bodies, and immediately after that, in the twinkling of an eye change the bodies of the living saints into glorious bodies. Both the resurrected saints and the in-the-twinkling-of-an-eye changed saints will, according to Posttribbers meet Jesus in the air only to return to earth. Does this fit in with Jesus’ promise in John 14? No! It makes Him a liar and unreliable to fulfill his promises in John 14.

Here’s a question for you. If all the saints are going to receive their new glorified bodies at the Rapture/Second Coming, who is going to populate Christ’s thousand years reign of peace on earth in their natural bodies?

Yeah, I’m aware Dr. Brown has many detractors. Still, lots of Christians look up to him. Personally I’m on the fence regarding the rapture, but I’m seeing more and more people coming out against the pre-trib position.
