Hi there, this well known verse is always taken out of the context, without proper understanding to the before and after verses and especially acquire to what the Hebrew language and Greek language means in the wording. Sometimes people get too excited, claiming that it is the Holy Spirit giving them this verse to counter-attack any people who threaten or have to question to the source of their claimed revelations and etc. Most “modern-day” prophets would use this verse and forget the other verses, so it comes with no surprise that these people have failed to study the Word of God from cover to cover first to understand its verse contextually. I have also seen weirdo “prophets” bubbling and speaking and bubbling and speaking, which I am very sure that the Holy Spirit will NEVER give out garbled sentences as He will always give clear and cut out understanding in the right senses. One weirdo prophet kept saying, “Matthew….Matthew….Matthew…I hear maybe Matt…” (an example) and again God knows by our names, but not the way like trying to come up bubbling, jumping around and mixing up with words via the weirdo prophet’s mouth. In the light of this, I’m sure that God is the author of order, but not of confusion, and that is the major havoc to where there is so much “idealism” and etc. We have to test against the Word of God and ensure that we have the proper understanding with the Holy Spirit’s help.

Dear DTW,

I like your articles so much, can hardly wait for the next. :read: allow me to contribute to you with a gift offering to assist with the up keeping of this website which I love. I don’t have a church at the moment, we (Kobus and Ida Geyser) are just doing Bible Study and reading the One Year Bible for the second time. I found a lot of eye opening information here when I was caught up in the pentecostal and calvinistic church and got the scare of my life when I met with a so called “prophet” for the first time, I knew it was false but had no scriptural knowledge to back myself up. Ever so thankful for the bold way that you defend the true faith in Jesus Christ, and the great arguments that follows. I have evangelized at the local prisons and in the police holding sells, there is no place for false doctrine, they (prisoners) see right through you, because they are truly desperate for the one and only Savior. If I can be used by Jesus Christ for something good, even one person’s soul then it’s worth it. It seems sound doctrine is a treasure to protect. Regards,

In reply to Tom Lessing (Discerning the World). Hi Tom Absolutely, in fact I had a minor one-sided discussion with Leon du Preez on Facebook yesterday, who just rolled his eyes at me. One of the things I said was this:

"Leon du Preez, you usurp the position of Jesus Christ! You profit as a false prophet and tell people to follow you as their Prophet when in fact we have a High Priest, that being Jesus Christ the Son of God."

The irony is that the false apostles and prophets of our day and age who claim to be God’s anointed are really the ones who are “touching” and “harming” Jesus Christ, the Anointed Son of God, every time they open their mouths to preach their abominable heresies.

For [God does not overlook sin and] the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who in their wickedness suppress and stifle the truth, (Romans 1:18. AMP).
