Jim

You said "Doing it will not save them or win them grace for entrance to heaven"<strong>

So why do it?

Are you saying not being baptised in water is a sin?

You see communion was a new Passover established by Jesus Christ to replaced the Jewish Passover as Jesus became the sacrificial Lamb. And Jesus tells us to remember Him this way through drinking of wine and breaking of bread.

Just as the </strong><strong>Holy Spirit Water baptism</strong> (through Jesus Christ when you are born again) replaced John the Baptist's Jewish water baptism unto repentance.

I wrote this on our FB group:

When born again we are immediately baptised into the ONE AND ONLY BAPTISM of Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection.

The Great Commission:

Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Water baptism or is it spiritual Holy Spirit (water) baptism ?

Luke 3:16 KJV "16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:"

Did you baptised yourself in water or have you been baptized in spiritual (Holy Spirit) water?

There is only ONE Baptism that you can be baptised into.

Ephesians 4:5 KJV
5 ONE Lord, ONE faith, <strong>ONE</strong> baptism. (emphasis added)

We have been lied to by the church for hundreds of years that we need to be physically dunked under water. It's nothing but a RCC sacrament; instead of infant baptism people who meant well changed it to adult baptism, trying to escape RCC doctrine - but it was still not the gospel truth.

When one believes the gospel. And repents, one is immediately baptised in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost - into the ONLY biblical baptism that there is.

Instead the church created a doctrine where by millions of individual baptisms take place in tubs or rivers or dams of water, that mean absolutely nothing - hoodwinking the person into believing it's something spiritual that they are commanded by Jesus to take part in.

No, this is not what John the Baptist meant. And no this is not what Jesus Christ meant either.

Please go study baptism in the bible and let the Holy Spirit be your teacher.

Dear Deborah,
just because someone does something with a wrong understanding of its usage or its proper significance doesn't change the actual symbolism and value of the ordinance commanded by our Lord. For example many people take communion who have never come to faith in Christ, but that doesn't mean it alters the fact that communion is a symbol of the body and blood of Christ. Doing it will not save them or win them grace for entrance to heaven, neither an unbeliever getting sprinkled or immersed will get them into God's family and heaven. Baptism is only commanded for believers in Christ.

Dear Jim

Roman Catholics get baptised by being dunked under water, as do Seventh Day Adventists, even evil Hollywood stars go to the river Jordan to be baptised under water.

Are you saying that these Catholics, SDA's and others "are demonstrating a new life in Christ" though being baptised in water?

Melanie,

Could you explain to me whose baptism is mentioned in Mark 16:16 - John the Baptist's baptism or Jesus Christ's baptism with the Holy Ghost? This may help you. Why does the last part only reference unbelief as the cause of damnation?

Hi Bobby

No such thing as too many questions.

You can email me at discerningtheworld@gmail.com and cc Tom at his email address we will gladly assist you.

You can let us know via email: What happened to you when they laid hands on you, did you: speak in tongues, fall over backwards, shake or convulse etc? Can you tell us what you experienced during meditation? When did your depression/anxiety start? Has it become worse since having hands laid on you, or did it get better? Are you having more serious problems since you had hands laid on you or since the kundalini mediation? Or did you experience healing during your meditation? Let us know.

Hi Tom and Deborah

Me again. Sorry,I have many questions because I have traveled a bit of a rocky road in my first 7 months after coming to Christ. Would it be possible to have your email address too Deborah so that I may send to you and Tom some more personal questions that I wouldn't like to air on the open platform? If not I will just email Tom.

I was just going through your preceding comment regarding laying on of hands to transfer demonic spirits. I unfortunately was "baptized in the Holy Spirit" by laying on of hands in my second week after being born again and receiving the Holy Spirit. I also did 2 weeks of kundalini meditation shortly thereafter for depression, anxiety and OCD. I did not know it was demonic but stopped after becoming aware. My question is,what do I do now? I have repented. What are the possible implications of my actions?

Thank you and sorry for all the questions.

Regards

Bobby

Most do have the incorrect understanding (thanks to hundreds of years of misinterpretation - all thanks to the Roman Catholic church.) I too believed it was necessary not so long ago, and then the Holy Spirit showed me the truth in scripture and I was blown away. This is what happens when we just believe the 'church' blindly but the truth is catching on quickly as many believers are now questioning it

You said "Thank you for your time and explanation much appreciated."

No problem!

Have a great day.
