Hi Wendy. Thanks for your comment. Your question "why do they get so offended at our belief in a pre-trib rapture?" is one I have been asking myself since I was saved. I have a few answers to pick from but I'm not saying they are the only ones.

1) They do not understand simple exegesis (i.e. Scripture explains Scripture when you rightly divide context with context). Your statement of surprise " He has read the book of Revelation I’m sure" is proof that they actually do not understand.
2) There entire premise is based on denials. They never present you with good solid arguments from Scripture. One of their most frequent denials is "I have always believed in a Pretrribulastion rapture because I was taught so in my church. But since I began studying the Word for myself I found that the word 'rapture' never once appears in Scripture."
3) They desire to experience the Day of the Lord supposedly to be purified before the return of the Lord at his Second Coming. There is a woe announced on those who desire to see the Day of the Lord. "Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light." (Amos 5:18: NIV).
4) They refuse to acknowledge dispensationalism - the difference between God's dealing of Israel and the Church, claiming the twelve tribes no longer exist. (James 1:1).
5) They love the lie.

I have studied the Bible for quite a few years now and although I love, love, love studying every last Word, I have a special affinity for prophecy. Maybe because we are still waiting on some things to be fulfilled and it gives such great excitement to see things happening in real-time that was written thousands of years ago. I also want to know as I teach and disciple my kids that I am teaching them the truth about the different doctrines. My heart's desire is for them to love God and His Word more than life itself and seeing God's Word supernaturally being fulfilled is an amazing thing to show them!

My question is, why do they get so offended at our belief in a pre-trib rapture? What is the bottom line? I could never turn away from Christ even if Benson is correct and we go through the 7 year trib period, so we can eliminate that concern. What are they really worried about?

A point to make.......What normal human being would not want to escape the 7-year trib when there has never been a time like it in all of human history. And it doesn't mean we will escape the usual persecution, tribulation, etc.. that is a part of every believer's life and that has gone on from the beginning. These 7 years are not the same. He is aware of that right? He has read the book of Revelation I'm sure.

Another point, even Jesus knowing what He was to face prayed and cried out to God in the Garden of Gethsemane if it be your will let this cup pass from me. Does that mean Jesus is a coward too, like us pre tribbers? Heaven forbid!!!!

I don't mind him believing what he wants, I enjoy learning and studying and iron sharpens iron, but why the mocking and sarcastic nature? Why not agree to disagree and allow us to sharpen one another.

I don't think Paul is coming back. His mouth is stopped (Titus 1:11).

Although he is not doing it for money, he is definitely doing it for fame. That's why he thanked me for giving him publicity.

Paul Benson says in his book:

“Have you ever asked why there was a need to come up with the new name ‘The Rapture’? Did anyone really need to rename our promise of the Resurrection? Do we need a new name for salvation? For healing? For the Cross? No, those names have been working just fine! How about for Heaven? No, Heaven doesn’t need a new name either. But, for the sake of discussion, let’s say I came up with a new doctrine that is a little different than what has been commonly believed about Heaven. And what if I said getting there is a little easier than what we’ve been taught? Just how would I go about promoting my new revelation? How could I get people to take the bait and swallow the hook?”

I wonder if he asks the same question the words "The Trinity"?

Paul? And answer to any of our questions would be nice.
