In reply to <a href="https://www.discerningtheworld.com/2018/01/08/angel-light-best/#comment-488484">Bo</a>.

Hi Bo, Thank you for your comment.

Perhaps we should begin with your statement, <em><strong>“I worship the Holy Trinity with Jesus being preeminent [to surpass all others and to be very distinguished in some way; having paramount rank, dignity, or importance: OUTSTANDING, SUPREME], not a Holy Tetrad that can render the written word an idol of my own making.."</strong></em> In saying so, you have in point of fact denied the very essence of the Trinity, which is their unique oneness. There is absolutely no pre-eminence in the Trinity. They are one in essence, one in word, one in thought, one in deed, one in love, one in righteousness, one in justice, one in judgment and in wrath, one in the act of salvation, and one in truth. That’s why Jesus said,

<em><strong>“I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30).</strong> </em>

<em><strong>“The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” (John 5:19). “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” (John 5:30).</strong></em>

There is not a single thing or the smallest iota or title of difference or variance in what they think, say and do. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three separate persons but one God, in that from all eternity their companionship in what they think, say and do have always been in perfect harmony. Pre-eminence suggests that Jesus Christ has/had the upper hand in deciding what to think, say and do, and that the Father and Holy Spirit are/were obligated to obey. That in itself would make of the Father and the Holy Ghost lesser gods than Jesus. Moreover, a claim to pre-eminence would have vetoed Jesus saying, “I am meek and lowly in heart: (Matthew 11:29).

It does not mean that they came together in a meeting before the foundation of the world to decide what they were going to think, say and do and to reach a consensus as to what their thoughts, words and actions should be. By all means, no! It means that each one of them being God (note: I did not say “a God,” as do the Jehovah’s Witnesses) had exactly the same thoughts, words and actions at heart without ever having to reach consensus. They were in consensus from the beginning because all three are God. God the Father’s, God the Son’s and God the Holy Spirit’s oneness is so magnanimously perfect in thoughts, deeds and actions so that they may be called ONE GOD (Elohim).

You wrote:

<em><strong>We need each other in the Lord. I share the following in love, that it seems to me the ‘baby has been thrown out with the bathwater’ in some degree. It is my witness that the Scriptures give reliable witness of Jesus and His Spirit still ‘speaking’ but not to add or diminish the witness of Scripture, but to remind me of what He has said. In our zeal to expose the wolves in sheeps clothing we can omit scriptures that give witness to His speaking reality. A reality initiated by Him and not by any effort on my part. Help me here.

It seems your faith equates the Bible with Jesus, with God the Holy Spirit? If I am wrong correct me. What verse testify to that effect? I can provide several that distinguish the logos and rhema (Jesus/HIs Spirit) from the graphos, graphe, gramma (scripture, letter, written).</strong></em>

The Bible, as you know, is also known as the Word of God, which suggests that everything written between its pages from Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 22:21 is the truth and nothing but the truth. If God cannot lie and if we are in agreement that He cannot lie, then we must accept the fact that Jesus is the sole embodiment of his Word (Truth; John 1:1). Jesus said “I AM the way, the TRUTH and the life. . .” (John 14:6). That makes him God’s Word (which God’s holy prophets and disciples wrote down and presented to us in the form of a book so that lost sinners may hear (obey) it and receive eternal life through faith in the One who is the embodiment of that truth (God’s Word – Revelation 19:13).

<em><strong>So then faith cometh by hearing (not a literal and audible or external voice of Jesus or the Holy Spirit), and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17).</strong></em>

You will recall what father Abraham said to the rich man in hell when he asked him to send Lazarus to his brethren, and to warn them of the terrible place of torment he experienced.

<em><strong>Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. (Luke 16:27-31).</strong></em>

He said in effect, “Not even a resurrected person from the dead and his audible words spoken to your brethren will make any difference. They need to hear (understand and obey) the Word of God because it is there where they will find the Truth (and Jesus who is the Truth). The supernaturalness of the Word is undeniable. Jesus Himself confirmed it through his apostle Paul.

<em><strong>For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12).</strong></em>

<em><strong>Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (Proverbs 30:5).</strong></em>

You wrote:

It is not our zeal that prompts or goads us to expose wolves in sheep’s clothing. We are commanded to do so in God’s Word.

<em><strong>Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (Ephesians 5:6-11)

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)</strong></em>

I assume that your statement above means the following. Whilst we, in our zeal, point out and warn the church against false teachers, we may be doing the wrong thing, because the Word of God itself proves that He (the Logos/Rhema) can speak directly to you which, as you alleged, is clearly distinguishable from the graphos, graphe, gramma (scripture, letter, written). It follows that those whom we expose as sheep in wolf’s clothing may not be what we think they are because they may have heard directly from God. Therefore, what they say and teach may not be questioned because their Logos/Rhema inspired books, teachings and sermons are worthy to be distinguished from the written word. And therefore, we should be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. This is pure gnosticm in overdrive and exactly what today’s contemplative mystics teach. They believe that your mind is cluttered with rational thoughts (doctrines) and must be brought into a state of stillness (usually by reflecting on a single word or phrase in Scripture called Lectio Divina) so that you may intuitively hear God speaking to your heart. Most heresies and false doctrines have their origin in mystics who claim to have heard God’s voice directly.

In Psalm 138: 2 David affirms that God has magnified his word above his name. Now, why would He do something so seemingly ungodly. Isn’t his Name above all else? The Amplified says it thus:

<em><strong>I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!</strong></em>

In a judicial court a judge can only pass sentence on criminals by applying the written law. He cannot circumvent the written law and make his own in the event of a court case. Neither can the criminals appeal for leniency in the name of the judge because he may be such a nice guy. Their appeal must be according to the written law. God is the supreme judge of the universe and has declared that no one will be judged according to their appeal for leniency or mercy in his Name. They will be judged according to what He has inspired his prophets and disciples to write down in his Word.

<em><strong>Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23)</strong></em>

The same may be said about hearing God’s voice directly. You may be hearing a voice in his Name but is in fact the voice of the angel of light (Satan).

part 2:

Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, US will be offering a course next year about how to “Queer God”. Sorry….. I just want to VOMIT even saying/writing those words! Fox News site has info.
Originally this college was started by the Quakers… say that word, & instantly our minds picture an Amish-garbed person, “pure and simple” and clothed in gentle, godlike behavior….. but HOLD ON THERE!!! I invite you to research the liberal, universal beliefs Quakers firmly hold onto. Jesus is never spoken of (ever) there, nor prayer, the Bible, reading Scripture… rather (from what I’ve read) it’s all a universal belief system of pagan, liberal-entrenched “baloney”!!! “We’re all good” mindset. Let’s read God’s Word to see how um, “good” we are!! If we’re so wonderful & good, Jesus would never have needed to come – much less to die a cruel death in our places.

Gets worse! Armor still on?

“Christians” or let’s just call them Charismatics…. Are now using ouija (And no, I will not capitalize that word (even though my spellchecker insists…). boards to communicate with angels!! The Angel Message Board was created by Kaye Sturgis, who just so happens to be a tarot card psychic <-- big surprise here??

Moving right along: fairly recently America lost a pop rock star (I just made that up!) I thought of him more as a pop star because his music was certainly not heavy rock… in fact, during the ‘60s he came across as – well maybe a tiny bit wild for “those days” but nothing like the real rockers… this guy appeared to be a choir boy in comparison… “very mild”! At any rate, it was said he loved his booze & his women over the years. I read several comments and let me tell you, without fail, every single one of them believed this man is now “an angel and flitting around heaven” and was told to “rock on”!!
Hey, I had nothing against the guy! I loved one of his singles & played it to death at one point during my teenage years. But folks!! We do not “turn into angels”!!! And not everybody goes to heaven either!! Find the NARROW ROAD, and there you will find the real Christians who’ll make it in.

It also told me why the world’s dwellers - as a whole - will fall all over themselves to worship the AntiChrist!  He’ll say musical, magical words they’ll just lap up.  He’ll tell them how good they are, how the world was “cleansed” from the evil-doers (he’ll be speaking of the Christians who were raptured) but most likely will use new age “enlightenment” terms.  He will entrench & capture the hearts & minds of all who will listen. And those who do as the …. THEE false prophet (most likely the pope) tell them to do – march down to get this “handy little mark” put on their heads or right hands – will from then on, certainly follow the commands of their leader!!  {I personally believe they will be “programmed” by DNA change once they accept the mark.}

And so many false teachers/prophets who will teach this is “not” the mark the Bible spoke of, will be first in line – “proving” how harmless it is!!

Continuing…

Also very recently, a “Touched By An Angel” TV star died. I read on one Christian mb where people were saying without a doubt, Della Reese is in heaven now – how she showed by her “compassionate heart” that she was a true devoted follower of Jesus.
Oh my goodness, people!!! WHERE did we get in mind that just because someone is “nice” or “compassionate” even – this makes him or her a real Christian??? I know a thief who is very nice to his associates! I’m sure there are nice murderers. Friendly adulterers. Even the rich man of Luke 16 whose been in hell for about 3,000 years now – was compassionate in not wishing his brothers would join him there! Unbelievers can be every bit “as nice” as Christians, but do they concern themselves with the Word? The truth? Biblical doctrine?

The truth about Della Resse (unless she had a very last second conversion, yet how rare are those?) Della Reese is not a Christian pastor as, many might assume, or as she might present herself. Rather, she is a follower, and minister of the principles of, New Thought as clearly indicated on the website of her. Church .... doctrinal beliefs are much more at home in what is commonly referred to as the New Age Movement,. www.crosswindsfoundation.org NOTE: disclaimer as I have not read/sifted through all they write about. USE BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT!!

The other “Touched By An Angel” stars??

Well, John Dye (who played Andrew) died before reaching age 50, I do not know about his personal life or beliefs. But if he died unsaved, it’s too late for him now anyway.

No one, regardless of what the highest AntiChrist cult in the world teaches, no one can be paid nor prayed out of hell!! In heaven or hell – once there, “THERE” for all eternity!! ... that means F O R E V E R!!!
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27

Roma Downey & her husband, Mark Burnett..?? OH MY!!!! HIGHLY NEW AGE!!! Abundant articles all over the net, please do your own research. Yet sadly, they still use the label, "Christian". This is the scariest part. But hey, so do mormons, catholics, and charismatics!
The Lord will correct me if I’m wrong, but for now I personally believe there could be a FEW real Christians even inside various cults… who have not yet realized they should come out from among them. And these FEW are saved ~~ in spite of what they are taught ~ not because of it!!

Shall we even talk about the “Live Your Best Life NOW” salesmen?

We can combat that teaching with even one Scripture!

From Luke 6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets

Or read the entire book of Job! After Job lost everything – and I mean EVERYTHING – he fell on his face & worshipped God!! I’m always amazed by that, and wonder if any of would be able to do the same? Not SAY we “could”, but actually be able to?

More error (yet people choose to believe this stuff instead of turning to Jesus!) a Reader’s Digest article was about how a shocking divorce happened which imploded grief upon the unsuspecting wife & children. The wife admitted she then “turned to” a “house healer”, someone who could come rid her house of “negative energy” and fill it with “positive energy”!! Oooof!!!!

This is no more than a hindu “medicine man” ceremony practiced on the TV series, “M.A.S.H.”

Seems people will turn to just about anything and/or anybody to help heal their broken hearts ….. except for Jesus!!

I walk into one of those hair-cutting places the other day, “confessed” to always cutting my own hair & messing it up…. Only to be told by the tattooed-up, gap toothed gal, “Maybe you WERE a hairdresser in a previous life!” Oh my, and to think I live in one of THEE MOST conservative states in the U.S.!

More from “Bethel” uh, “CHURCH”…. Seems for their evangelistic “ministries” now, they are using a method called, “Christalignment” ~ which is nothing more than TOPLESS DANCING (actually they call it: Topless SPIRIT Dancing) performed to drumbeats and laughter from the crowd!! Some of this can be seen on YouTube (though it’s since been censored, I understand…)

Some days you just go SIGH!!! How much more of this vile world can YOU take, Lord?!! Please deliver us!!

The Angel Message Board was created by Kaye Sturgis, who just so happens to be a tarot card psychic <– big surprise here??

Moving right along: fairly recently America lost a pop rock star (I just made that up!) I thought of him more as a pop star because his music was certainly not heavy rock… in fact, during the ‘60s he came across as – well maybe a tiny bit wild for “those days” but nothing like the real rockers… this guy appeared to be a choir boy in comparison… “very mild”! At any rate, it was said he loved his booze & his women over the years. I read several comments and let me tell you, without fail, every single one of them believed this man is now “an angel and flitting around heaven” and was told to “rock on”!!

Hi Tom, wow, you surely pour your heart & soul into your articles! Amazing. Like Janet, this is so extensive, I'm going to have to divide into chunks & read a bit at a time. Thanks for writing it! My, things are sure "messed up there in So. Africa"! Oh! But wait a minute! Things are messed up here in America, TOO!! Like you mentioned, ALL churches WORLDWIDE!!

If you have bandwith & will permit me, here are a few things I've been noticing/working on -- and PLEASE feel free to research any of these & "run with it" perhaps turning it into another fantastic article! All I can say is LORD JESUS PLEASE COME!!

So, I was thinking of writing this anyway. Then when doing my morning cup-of-coffee in hand while surfing (see what a talented “multitasker” I am??! ? well, I was looking at something health-related & often times wander into the comment section as when people are well-behaved & cordial about it, I like reading their thoughts. Right off the bat, a commentator spoke about God may not be who we think “He/She” is ….. ugh, with a quick keystroke, I ended my reading there.

A certain Word-loving preacher says Christians should not even read spiritual material online or in book stores… even in “Christian” bookstores, unless we are mature enough to have our senses exercised, unless we can use wise discernment. I’d have to agree with him there.

Too many people, false prophets, too many things all together these days are “accepted” by the vast majority – just because it has the word, “Christian” slapped across it.

When I was in my early ‘20s, I got a part time job through a friend of a friend & while I was grateful for the little income to help fill in the blanks in between full time jobs, it was a shock & revelation that not all people are who they claim to be. The man who ran the operation printed, sold, & shipped “Christian pamphlets” and various printed materials to outfits worldwide. But… he was a foul-mouthed, major sexaholic who went after young girls! Praise the Lord, I got away from his sites just in time as he was coming onto me as well.

This is not a vast list, yet it shows just how far we have fallen from what a real Biblical Christian is.

Bethel Church {Redding California} Youth Pastor is teaching the kids about telepathy!! {I do not want to be responsible for sending you to a wrong site, what I mean is something that “may appear” okay, but then b/c I do not have time to read every jot & tittle, there may be something horribly wrong after all. So you’re gonna’ have to hit a search engine yourself if you choose to.} Definitely an occult practice.

Same church: now using “Christian” tarot cards!! **sigh!!**

According to Lighthouse Trails, they also teach:

False prophecy
Visualization
“Fire tunnels”
Grave soaking trips
Visualization, contemplative prayer, and meditation practices
Chanting, soaking, and spiritual drunkenness
“Toking” the Holy Ghost to get “high on Jesus” <-- I'm completely SPEECHLESS on this one!!!

Thank you for your wonderful post. I will sit down later and read the whole thing it is late now sp sleep is in order. From what I have read you are very knowledgable in God's Word and hit the nail on the head. there is so many false many false teachings out there that sometimes it is hard to keep up with them all. I am so glad to see others out there that understand God's Word and are getting the truth out there like I am. I am rather new to this but hopefully i am helping others to see the truth. God bless!

Thank you for an excellent post. Hearing God's voice is now everywhere. We can add My sheep hear my voice from Joseph Hedgecock. I was almost caught up in this as well as Christians become desperate and long for a deeper walk with God, become totally disillusioned with luke warm apostate churches and then someone comes up and say - I have the answer for you - just start to listen for the voice on your inside and then they have the audacity to give you a so called fool proof recipe to test and make sure you hear the "correct" voice. Scores of Christians are being sucked into this.
