These associations make me sad and angry. When I heard that the Misslers had moved to NZ because they were being called there for ministry, I almost fell out of my chair laughing! I found it difficult to believe that God would call ministers to a comfortable, westernized country rather than plague and famine ridden areas of the world. It's the mission of the church to reach the lost and the poor. Having a retreat in NZ didn't strike me as a spiritual mission field.

I purchased thousand of dollars worth of Koinonia House products over the years and took their Bronze Medallion course. Now I wonder if the income from their "school" and product line was used just to move out of harm's way. It wouldn't bother me as much if it was an unsaved couple but these people were high profile christians and should have run the course with the rest of us.
<strong>Hey Chuck:</strong> You didn't see Paul ditch his people and run for the hills or to a more comfortable location when the going got tough.

I'm tired of having money stolen from me (and others) for false pretenses under the guise of spiritual edification. Bye/

From now on, I stay strictly with the Bible and trust the Holy Spirit to lead me in the ways of truth. :read:

To respect Mary and to call her mother of God and believe her and Joseph lived like brother and sister is okay
Even to recite Hail Mary full of grace the lord is with you bless are you among women and bless is the fruit of thy womb
Jesus is okay but praying to Mary and making her co mediatrix with god no praying the rosary no that is unbiblicical
As a liturgical and confessional Lutheran I respect and honor the mother of god because of her role of saying yes to god
And allowing a teen girl give birth to the salvation of the world Jesus I find no problem with the church art showing Mary with the infant
Jesus in her arms it is when you bow to these images and give worship I prefer icons unlike statues they can not be make idols as easy being two dimensional

Well now, it is as you said, Debs, they are presenting Mary as the Comforter. Idolatry? You bet! This is what Alexander Hislop says about Semiramis in his book "The Two Babylons."

<blockquote>Now in her, as <strong>the Tabernacle or Temple of God</strong>, not only all power, but all grace and goodness were believed to dwell. Every quality of gentleness and mercy was regarded as centred in her; and when death had closed her career, while she was fabled to have been deified and changed into a pigeon, to express the celestial benignity of her nature, she was called by the name of "D'Iune," or "The Dove," or without the article, "Juno"--the name of the Roman "queen of heaven," which has the very same meaning; and under the form of a dove as well as her own, she was worshipped by the Babylonians.

The dove, the chosen symbol of this deified queen, is commonly represented with an olive branch in her mouth, as she herself in her human form also is seen bearing the olive branch in her hand; and from this form of representing her, it is highly probable that she has derived the name by which she is commonly known, for "Z'emir-amit" means "The branchbearer."

When the goddess was thus represented as the Dove with the olive branch, there can be no doubt that the symbol had partly reference to the story of the flood; but there was much more in the symbol than a mere memorial of that great event. "A branch," as has been already proved, was he symbol of the deified son, and when the deified mother was represented as a Dove, what could the meaning of this representation be but just to identify her with the Spirit of all grace, that brooded, dove-like, over the deep at the creation; for in the sculptures at Nineveh, as we have seen, the wings and tail of the dove represented the third member of the idolatrous Assyrian trinity. In confirmation of this view, it must be stated that the Assyrian "Juno," or "The Virgin Venus," as she was called, was identified with the air. Thus Julius Firmicus says: "The Assyrians and part of the Africans wish the air to have the supremacy of the elements, for they have consecrated this same [element] under the name of Juno, or the Virgin Venus." Why was air thus identified with Juno, whose symbol was that of the third person of the Assyrian trinity? Why, but because in Chaldee the same word which signifies the air signifies also<strong> the "Holy Ghost</strong><strong>. (Emphasis added)"</strong>

same time adored as the incarnation of the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of peace and love. In the temple of Hierapolis in Syria, there was a famous statue of the goddess Juno, to which crowds from all quarters flocked to worship. The image of the goddess was richly habited, on her head was a golden dove, and she was called by a name peculiar to the country, "Semeion."
(BRYANT) What is the meaning of Semeion? It is evidently "The Habitation"; and the "golden dove" on her head shows plainly who it was that was supposed to dwell in her--even the Spirit of God.

When such transcendent dignity was bestowed on her, when such winning characters were attributed to her, and when, over and above all, her images presented her to the eyes of men as Venus Urania, "the heavenly Venus," the queen of beauty, who assured her worshippers ofsalvation, while giving loose reins to every unholy passion, and every depraved and sensual appetite--no wonder that everywhere she was enthusiastically adored. Under the name of the "Mother of the gods," the goddess queen of Babylon became an object of almost universal worship. "The Mother of the gods," says Clericus, "was worshipped by the Persians, the Syrians, and all the kings of Europe and Asia, with the most profound religious veneration."</blockquote>

I have one thing to say to Chuck Missler and William Welty: <strong>"GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN."</strong> (Emphasis added). If these things don't make you angry, you are probably not saved.

Dear RJ

Thank you for your comment, and you always make me laugh - "Guys, hit me with a wet noodle if you must? ROTFL

Yes the RC indoctrinate the little ones from the day they come out of their mother's tummy. It's years and years of non-stop indoctrination, day in and day out. When my brother was young he had a friend who could never find the time to play with his friends because his father was a staunch RC man and made sure his son ate, slept and drank RC dogma. It was very sad to see.

You said, "Saint” (Christopher, was it?? Saint Somebody! I forgot who!!) anyway, who “helps her find front door parking spaces at Dr. clinics & grocery stores, etc.”"

Lol this is so true, and people don't just use a favourite Saint as someone that helps them find parking, but an angel and even worse Jesus Christ finds people parking as well close to the front door of shopping centers.

I've been told too how Chuck Missler is just the nicest, down to earth kinda guy you can get and he would never preach false teaching...noo nooo never. I'm going to use the following statement in future, "well you can't judge a book by it's cover now can you" :)

love you

Hi Debs!
Your quote:

<blockquote>A vigorous spiritual tune up? If you believe what Mr Welty and Koinonia House are saying then for sure, a door to Satan will be opened, and Satan will for sure give you a vigorous spiritual tune up]</blockquote>

I believe this, I truly do!! You and I swapped emails when I confessed I had opened a door to satan by getting involved in some goofy energy healing ... still, um, "paying for that"!!

And your last quote, >also a goodie:

<blockquote>I am really surprised you don’t offer a little Mary idol for free that comes when you purchase this book. I suppose that will come next… with a rosary for $5.95.]</blockquote>

Wow, a "rosary" ~ see, I married an rc man (who thankfully came to the knowledge of the Truth & forsook the rcc all together) yet his entire extended family remains deluded.

Well this past weekend his mother (my MIL) took time to "explain" to me how (barf:) "Saint" (Christopher, was it?? Saint Somebody! I forgot who!!) anyway, who "helps her find front door parking spaces at Dr. clinics & grocery stores, etc." ~ so much so, that she now will not drive without this rosary in her car even!! Guys, hit me with a wet noodle if you must, yet I feel no guilt in not correcting or debating with her (she was not open to correction! Rather, she wanted to be the "teacher") so instead I just changed the subject....

In the past, of course we've told her that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that Jesus is the ONLY way to God & to heaven. She only wanted to raise her voice & debate that.

Know I'm rabbit trailing here, but at Christmas one of the 18 month old nephews bent down to scoop up some water from the dog's bowl to "cross himself" with it!! Oh my, my!! Tender young thing is being taught this way.... I sooo wanted to say, "Honey, 'holy water' is about AS holy as this dog water!" ~ but he's too young & tender to understand. All the catholics there were having a good time laughing about it though.

Back on subject, I've met Missler at a conference before and at that time he sure seemed a down to earth guy! Till I started reading up on all the wacko stuff. All the more reason for us to keep our trust IN THE LORD & not in what men teach!! Amen!!

I forgot who!!) anyway, who “helps her find front door parking spaces at Dr. clinics & grocery stores, etc.” ~ so much so, that she now will not drive without this rosary in her car even!! Guys, hit me with a wet noodle if you must, yet I feel no guilt in not correcting or debating with her (she was not open to correction! Rather, she wanted to be the “teacher”) so instead I just changed the subject….

In the past, of course we’ve told her that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that Jesus is the ONLY way to God & to heaven. She only wanted to raise her voice & debate that.

Know I’m rabbit trailing here, but at Christmas one of the 18 month old nephews bent down to scoop up some water from the dog’s bowl to “cross himself” with it!! Oh my, my!! Tender young thing is being taught this way…. I sooo wanted to say, “Honey, ‘holy water’ is about AS holy as this dog water!” ~ but he’s too young & tender to understand. All the catholics there were having a good time laughing about it though.

Back on subject, I’ve met Missler at a conference before and at that time he sure seemed a down to earth guy! Till I started reading up on all the wacko stuff. All the more reason for us to keep our trust IN THE LORD & not in what men teach!! Amen!!
