An Altar to the Lord?

Great-Pyramid-of-GizaPyramid of Giza – An Altar to the Lord?

Many Christians – and when I say many, I mean “m a n y” – are getting hooked on stories and, oh so very “spiritual” stories may I add, thatBird's eye of the Great Pyramid of Giza they no longer regard the Bible as the one and only reliable prophetic source to provide sufficient evidence of things to come.

In fact, they no longer regard the Holy Spirit to be the only One who declares to God’s saints (not unbelievers) the things to come (John 16:13) but rely more and more on their own insights, some of which are based on unadulterated paganism and the occult.

They tenaciously cling to stories about aliens and blood moons, the Nephilim (fallen angels who allegedly married human women and produced unnatural offspring), and the Pyramid of Giza that was allegedly built by God Himself to cast into solid stone the entire Gospel narrative of Jesus Christ.

You see, it works like this. God who was able to speak directly to prophets like Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel and many more in the Old Testament, was – for some strange reason – not able to speak directly to Noah. So, Almighty God who had no capability whatsoever to speak directly to Noah decided to come down from heaven and to build the glorious altar of beautifully cut stones to give him and his family the Gospel.

The assumption is that because Adam did not have a Bible, God gave him the Gospel story in the stars with the 88 constellations telling the entire Gospel story and God’s plan for the ages, and after the Flood, Noah still did not have a Bible so God gave Him the Gospel story in stone. To give you an idea how far they’d gone to link the Pyramid of Giza to the Gospel, let us briefly look at some of the things they say.

  1. The broad way that leads to a pit and a narrow way that leads to the king’s chamber in the Great Pyramid of Giza allegedly alludes to Matthew 7.
  2. The 153 steps in the pyramid supposedly match the 153 fishes gathered in John 21:11, which in turn refer to all nations of the earth gathering into the kingdom of God.
  3. The king’s chamber is on the fiftieth row of the stones ostensibly represents 50 which was the year of Jubilee (Leviticus 25:11)..
  4. The solid carved, empty red granite tomb inside the Kings chamber allegedly represents the Ark of the Covenant because it has the very same volume.
  5. The 144,000 polished casing stones, no longer in existence, apparently point to the number of witnesses in Revelation 7:4. The stones were a perfect fit to the extent that many of the seams could not be seen nor a paper put between them today, thousands of years later.
  6. The missing cornerstone at the top purportedly symbolizes Christ, the rejected chief cornerstone ( Daniel 2:45; Psalm 118:22; Matthew 21:42; Mk 12:10). The five sides of  cornerstone allegedly represents the number of grace.
  7. Because the Great Pyramid of Giza is situated on the border of the Northern and Southern kingdoms when they were divided, it is said that it is the fulfilment of the prophecy in Isaiah 19:19. “In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.”

Pyramid of Giza an Altar to the Lord to present the Gospel to Noah?

Having seen how God allegedly so graciously built the Pyramid of Giza to present the Gospel to Noah and their immediate offspring because they did not have a Bible, I am sure you will graciously allow me to alter Jesus’ story in Luke chapter 16 ever so gently and ever so slightly, because those people whom He addressed at that time also did not have the full Gospel. At that time He hadn’t been crucified, buried, raised form the dead and ascended into heaven as yet, so they too didn’t have the fulfillment of the Gospel.

Luke 16:19-31

19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

120And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24nd he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29Abraham saith unto him, They have the Pyramid at Giza. Let them mount their camels and go there to see and hear what it says.

30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead and accompanied them to the Pyramid of Giza, they will repent.

31And he said unto him,  If they hear not the Pyramid of Giza, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. and accompanied them to the Pyramid of Giza.

But, wait a minute, the above Scripture was written in the New Testament which Noah did not have at his disposal, so He couldn’t have known the Gospel. Really? Doesn’t the Bible say that Jesus was crucified from the foundation of the world? (Revelation 13:8). It does not mean that He was literally put to death from the foundation of the world. It simply means that God’s sovereign intention to have Him crucified and to give Him as a sacrifice and a ransom for our sins when the fullness of time arrived (Galatians 4:4-5), was so certain and so firmly set in God’s mind that it might be spoken of as a thing already accomplished, even before the foundation of the world.

So, Noah must have known the Gospel and therefore there was no need for God to build a massively huge construction called a Pyramid to teach him and his family the Gospel. When he preached to the antediluvian wicked people, he did not send them to some kind of shrine made of stone, he simply preached the Gospel of righteousness to them. Or, shall we again alter God’s Word ever so slightly?

13For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14How then will they call on him who do not believe what the Pyramid of Giza tells them to believe? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone pointing them to God’s altar, the Pyramid of Giza?

15And how are they to to encourage anyone to visit the Pyramid of Giza unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who encourage sinners to visit the Pyramid of Giza and see for themselves the good news written in the solid stones of the miraculously and divinely constructed altar!”

16But they have not all obeyed the gospel given to them in the Pyramid of Giza. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”

17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the miraculously and divinely constructed architecture of the Pyramid of Giza. (Romans 10:13-17)

When God mercifully and graciously gave the antediluvian idolaters a respite of 120 years to repent of their evil deeds, Noah preached to them the Gospel.

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; (2 Peter 2:5).

If the word “righteousness” represents God’s Gospel in a nutshell, then Noah preached to them the Gospel. Now, where in the world would he have gotten that from – from the Pyramid of Giza that was allegedly built by God? Did Noah and his family visit the Pyramid of Giza to learn the Gospel? Perish the thought. He got it from the first ever martyr, a son of God called Abel, who offered to Him of the firstlings of his flock. (Genesis 4:4) The blood sacrifice of an innocent victim is the only sacrifice pleasing to God because it involves faith (Hebrews 11:6) in what God purposed to do in the fullness of time and not the offering brought to Him by a man who relied on his own sweat and toil to please God.

What were the elements in Abel’s offering that represents the pure Gospel of God and are they also recognizable in the Great Pyramid of Giza?

  • Abel’s offering met God’s requirement in Leviticus 17

And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar [and NOT on a montrous construction like the Pyramiod of Giza] to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

  • Abel’s offering met God’s requirement in Hebrews 9

Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.  (Hebrews 9:22)

Does the Great Pyramid of Giza fit these requirements? If not, then God could not possibly have built it because He will never counter his own requirements for salvation.

What are God’s requirements for an altar to be an altar dedicated to Him?

25And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

26Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.  (Exodus 20:25-26)

These words echo once again God’s supreme and awesome holiness. Anything whatsoever that man dares to contribute to God’s salvific scheme of things pollutes it, and it is not so difficult to understand why when you read Isaiah 64:6.

6We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Cain tried to pollute God’s salvific plan of salvation when he dared to offer some of the products of his own efforts, sweat and toil (his own polluted garments). And now, some Christians dare to pollute God’s salvific scheme of things in their belief that He built the Pyramid of Giza to relate to humankind the Gospel in solid stone? Really?

Nowhere in the entire Bible do we see that God built or constructed something. He is the Creator who brings things into being without using tools or instruments to cut stone or any other material. However, didn’t He miraculously hew every single stone to their exact size, some of which at the top weigh 70 tons and the nine slabs of stone above the King’s chamber weighing 400 tons each? Couldn’t He have packed the stones so perfectly one upon another that not even an A4 sheet of paper can be inserted between them? I suppose He could. Nothing is impossible with God but why would He do something contrary to the command He gave Moses in Exodus 20? Surely, God who is a God who does everything right would never set an example contrary to the command He gave to Moses. This alone proves beyond any doubt that the Giza Pyramid cannot be defined as an altar to the Lord – no way. It defies God’s requirements for an altar to be a genuine altar to Him.

Pillars

Note carefully that Isaiah speaks of an altar and a pillar in Isaiah 19 verse 19. If the Pyramid in Giza is not an altar as proved, is it a pillar? There are about 24 verses in the Bible where pillars are mentioned. In all the instances where humans were involved in the setting up of a pillar it was always a pillar of stone which they anointed with oil in dedication to and in honour of the Lord (Genesis 28:18-22) or as a monument of a covenant made between humans (Genesis 31:45-53). Once again these stones weren’t hewed or cut with tools but were used just as they were found in nature (just as God created and formed them).

The Pyramid of Giza cannot be a pillar in dedication or in honour of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob because every single stone was cut and hewed to size to be placed one upon another. In fact, the Israelite were commanded to cut down and destroy these kinds of idolatrous pillars when God led them into the land of Canaan. (Exodus 23:24; Deuteronomy 7:5; Leviticus 26:1).

To what does Isaiah 19:19 refer?

Many prophecies have an immediate and a future fulfillment. The book of Isaiah from chapter 13 onward to 25 deal with God’s judgment of the nations who dealt arrogantly and cruelly with his covenant people, the Jews.  Although these prophecies were played out in the Old Testament, there is also a future fulfillment of these prophecies when Jesus Christ returns to the earth to set up his Millennial Kingdom on earth.

In chapter 19 verses 16-25 the phrase “in that day” appears no less than five times and often refers to judgment followed by blessing. It is biblically correct to say that Israel’s blessings will only be realized in full when Jesus returns at the end of the seven year tribulation to establish his Millennial Kingdom on earth. In that day Judah will take complete control of Egypt. Whereas they turned to Egypt for assistance against her enemies in the Old Testament, a time is coming when Egypt will recognize Judah as the dominant force in the world. Then the Egyptian men will be like women in terror of Judah because they will realize Judah stands under the uplifted hand of the Lord Almighty.

True worship will be instituted in Egypt. The Isaiah 19:19 altar will be built to the Lord along with a monument or pillar. Then (in that day) Egypt will be in the same position as Israel as God’s covenant people. They will also be involved in the Millennial sacrificial system in Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:16-19; Malachi 1:11). This will all take place when Jesus returns to establish his Millennial Kingdom on earth.

Those who believe that God built the Pyramid of Giza are deceived and ought to ask Him for forgiveness. God will never build an altar that counters his own requirements for an altar.

  1. Thank you Thomas for this article, I pray that people who believe in these strange doctrines read it and understand the truth written in this article!

So many people are running after teachings that are not in the bible, it’s quite scary really.

  2. I doubt very much whether people will acknowledge that they are wrong in following these strange doctrines. Once these doctrines have been lodged in their minds they become strong holds that are very difficult to dislodge when people are unwilling to listen to the Word of God.

  3. YvZ says:

If the Holy Spirit is in you, meaning that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your saviour, you will receive a spirit of discernment. To listen to that spirit is ones own choice. I have heard of the blood moons, altars, Nephilim etc but never given much attention to it. I wondered why, but I realise now. Also, anything that becomes a sudden hot topic or hit on a bookshelf one must look into first and ask God’s direction according to His Word (usually it will not be true). We should also look at who the person is, preaching these messages. It can guide us a lot whether it is believable or not. This is a great article, thanks!

Where do you think you would spend eternity, if God forbid, you were to die later today?

I am not sending this to you to preach religion. I am asking you if you were standing before a Holy God do you think that He would have an issue with your sin if you were standing in front of a Holy God?

Because that is exactly what the Bible tells us. That a Holy God can not be in the presence of sin. So every human being that has ever lived has had the exact same problem. This sin problem. But do you also know that Jesus Christ offers all of us a free gift, the forgiveness of sin. And faith and belief is all God wants from you. So, do you believe that Jesus was the Son of God who came to earth and lived a perfect life? Do you know that God will accept Christ’s perfect life and let Christ be your Advocate, so on Judgement Day God doesn’t look at all the bad stuff you’ve done. Instead, God will look at His perfect Son when He see’s you. Because Jesus and His perfection literally stand in our place.

There really is little difference between you and I, I am a sinner too. But I have accepted Christ’s free gift of salvation and I know that I will be with God in eternity. I sincerely hope that this has helped you and I do apologize for being so forward, but I have to share this with you because I’m sure neither of us gets free gifts often. At this point, I would recommend for you a good Bible-based church that can answer any questions you have and will surround you with like-minded believers. Just Google bible church in your local area. God bless you!”

    Rom 3:23 :
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Now that you know that no one is good in God’s eyes, how do we then become good? How do we become vindicated before God? The Bible teaches that we need to have Jesus’ righteousness but the only way to do that is to come to Him by faith:

    Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

    Rom 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Jesus commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins, to ask for His forgiveness, and to turn from their sins and to put their faith and trust in Him. Repenting means that you are sincerely sorry for all the bad things you have done in life and you want Jesus to change you into his holiness and righteousness.

  5. Hi JacquelineDeane55, Thank you for your comment. I assume you are a Seventh Day Adventist who believes that the pyramids were built by Joseph to store grain, just like Ben Carson, US presidential hopeful, who lost the race for the presidency to Donald Trump. I’m not saying you are. I’m only assuming you are a 7th Day. You wrote “At this point, I would recommend for you a good Bible-based church that can answer any questions you have and will surround you with like-minded believers. Just Google bible church in your local area. God bless you!” Would you mind telling us up front which church you are referring to?

You said we should seek a Bible Church that can answer any questions. Here’s a question for you. Is the Trinity One with a triune nature of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
