It appears you have spent more time listening to Chuck Smith’s sermons than Jesus Christs Word.

I was an active member of Calvary Church Port Orchard for nearly 10 years, before I moved out of the area. S.E.Brown speaks truthfully of Pastor Kevin Lea. And because Pastor Kevin rightly divides and preaches the Word, he and his wife (of many years, the only one) have been betrayed by friends, slandered, harassed, and abused more times and in more ways than you can count. But he keeps on, refuses to give up! Until Jesus comes, our TRUE shepherds need our prayers more than ever.

I have to say its really weird that both greg Lauries & Rick Warrens sons died …..

Help me out, I understand the claim being made. The claim is CC has Freemasons teaching the church. But I'm not seeing from the article who is the Freemason being indentified.

In reply to Matt Kottman. It is one thing to have flaws but quite aother to allow heretics such as Freemasons to address the sheep of your flock.

I also marvel at the comments saying that people not be part of a church where the leaders have flaws. There is no such thing as a flawless Christian much less a flawless leader. The advice to leave a church because it isn’t perfect and to go start your own is crazy. Whatever you start by that criteria will also be flawed. As CS Lewis said, those who can see through everything end up seeing nothing.

Chuck Smith didn’t preach a Gnostic or JW version of he afterlife. This is a simple case of taking one message and interpreting a man’s whole theology rough one statement. I came to Christ at Chuck Smith’s church and my formative Christian growth took place under his teaching. Never was I given the understanding that our bodies didn’t resurrect. Smith’s point is that we receive renewed bodies. Saying we put off the old body and put on a new one doesn’t necessarily imply that this body is evil (as the Gnostics would say). Elsewhere he taught that about our physical resurrection plenty of times.
Be careful not to judge someone’s theology based on an isolated statement. The measure by which you judge it will be measured back to you.
