>> Stephan Joubert says “Jesus has a distinct scent. He smells of the exclusive fragrance of life. Sometimes he also smells of sinners. And at other times He smells of broken ones, hungry ones, lonely ones… After all, it’s between the broken, searching and hopeless ones that He spends most of his time. Jesus often takes people’s faults, pains and sins onto his shoulders. Their pains become his pains. He also swaps their fragrances for his. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, which was such a pleasing aroma before God (Eph 5:2), becomes the new life fragrance of every Jesus-follower. He floods them from head to toe with the scent of heaven. That’s what Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 2:13-16.

Jesus’ aroma is now also our own fragrance. We smell like Him. We give off his scent. We spread his exclusive life-fragrance. We are heavenly aroma in living, moving, talking form. Everywhere we go people smell the scent of heavenly incense.

Christians never smell neutral. We can’t. Then we’re using the wrong deodorant! The we suppress the life-giving fragrance of the heavenly perfume that God poured out over us. Jesus’ smell sticks to us forever. We can’t follow Him without smelling like Him. Our Jesus-scent is our identity. But Jesus is also busy spreading this fragrance world-wide. We’re full-time spreaders of his life-giving heavenly aromas. That’s why we need to smell Jesus in those people around is who need Him. And we need to deliver his scent there. We need to pass it on. And spread it further. That’s how the good fragrance of the gospel spreads.”

I think he has been sniffing something illegal.</blockquote>

I fairly recently had a Catholic friend tell me that he always looks for Christ in others. I don't know how he manages that in the light of Jeremiah 17:9. How is Jesus in others when even Christians are sinners saved by grace?
I find it astonishing that these "Christian" leaders--who think likewise--cannot see that they are holding to beliefs of which the Bible warns, especially regarding in the last days.
We have alot to be thankful for in DTW for keeping us on our toes. I'm so grateful to find a site that is scripturally sane. It's another excellent piece. Thanks Thomas.

I get the feeling that all these false teachers must be on the same 'stuff'. Had a good chuckle recently listening to a short clip (can't do that for long) of a conversation between Patricia King and Joshua Mills discussing "Manifestations of the Glory" oh boy!! there has to be something in the water that these people are drinking. Or maybe the obsession of smelling God must be they are sniffing something. Just want to reiterate what Debs said "No Stephan that’s not what Paul writes. In verse 15 he says that real Christians are to those who are saved an odour of life unto life and to those who perish an odour of death unto death. There’s nothing mystical about the smell Christians exude."

There is certainly no shortage whatsoever of the insane and ridiculous things being said out there.

A true follower of Christ will tell you that Joyce Meyer is a false teacher but people will go to great lengths to commend her for the good works she is doing out there and will even attack you for not "appreciating her wonderful ministry".

Just recently watched a video clip of an Indian man, who gave up his job to feed and love the homeless, sick and dying (much like a Mother Theresa). Not a word of Christ and His finished work on the Cross, and one of the comments were "his path has been mapped out, straight to heaven". No, it has not.
Somebody asked Jesus this question one day: "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" and what did Jesus answer? "This is the work of God, that you believe into Him whom He sent." (Jn6:28-29)

If a Christian is "working" (-functioning- as the Bible says, as God intended), they will be characterized by: Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control, compassion, forgiveness, etc" (Ga5:22-23, Col3:12-13, etc) Jesus spoke of "fruits". These things are the "fruits of the spirit".

Good article Thomas thanks.

"It is understandable that many of us do not enjoy the Bible any longer . . . especially the free spirits Johan Geyser who are interested in meditation feel that the Bible is too restrictive.”

It is obvious that these meditating, deodorizing, blaspheming, Jesus Christ denying, feely, touchy, Wolves are full of themselves and are children of Hell.

Here is the real Fragrance of Jesus Christ: Song of Solomon 3:6 Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?

: Here is His apparel: Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

Here is just a bit of His strength: Jeremiah 46:7 Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?

I pray this is me: Song of Solomon 8:5 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?... ...

I really enjoyed this article "Deb-Ster" I asked a group of ladies one time what did they want to know about Jesus Christ the moment they met Him in heaven. Some said, I want to look in his eyes. Others said, I want to hear his voice. Others wanted to know an assortment of things. I said, I want to know what He smells like. They laughed and then I said, no really. When He hugs me as I am welcomed home then I will know by experience what He smells like. I shared those scriptures and said of the last one
SoS 8:5 should be all of us, leaning on our beloved.

All of your articles are awesome. But this one caught my attention really quick. Thanks very much.
