Angus Buchan – A ‘False Bible’ in 366 Days for Men

Angus Buchan-The Bible In 365 Days For Men Of FaithAngus Buchan – A ‘False Bible’ in 366 Days for Men

It never ceases to amaze me.  Angus Buchan has now released a Bible for men, yes you heard me a BIBLE.  CUM Book stores description says;

“THE BIBLE IN 366 DAYS FOR MEN OF FAITH by popular author and evangelist Angus Buchan offers men the essence of the Bible in a single year. Key Scripture passages, from Genesis to Revelation, will enable readers to gain a better understanding of God’s Word and His love for us. It provides a concise overview of the key messages of the entire Bible.

Scripture verses are taken from the New Living Translation® and, with short inspirational thoughts written in Angus’s signature style, it will encourage daily reading of the Bible.

This pocket-sized edition, which is easy and convenient to take anywhere, is an essential resource for spiritual growth. It will strengthen every man’s faith and will inspire men to live dedicated lives to God.”  [Emphasis added] http://www.cumbooks.co.za/view/70265/the-bible-in-366-days-for-men-of-faith/

So…

Angus Buchan offers the essence of the real Bible to men in his bible? Really?  Is Angus Buchan’s bible inspired?   Why did Angus Buchan feel the need to shorten / take from God’s Bible and write his own and tell people that it’s just as good as the real thing, in fact “gain a better understanding of God’s Word” when it does not even come close.

I’ve been told this is a Devotional.  What is a Devotional? Devotionals are not biblical, in fact:

Christian devotional literature (also called devotionals or Christian living literature) is religious writing that is neither doctrinal nor theological, but designed for individuals to read for their personal edification and spiritual formation. Theologian Karl Holl has suggested that devotional literature came into full development at the time of Pietism during the second half of the 17th century  [Emphasis added]— https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_devotional_literature

A Devotional is a direct attack from Satan.  Devotionals are based on the writers personal experience of scripture and their personal spiritual ideas regarding scripture – in other words: their interpretation.  There is one gospel, one Jesus Christ, one interpretation of scripture.  Devotionals on the other hand give the writer ample leeway to play around with scripture and render it to their own interpretation.  A devotional is nothing but a story telling book based on passages of scripture made to look biblical.

Devotionals are not doctrinal or theological and are Roman Catholic.  (See here: Angus – It’s Time to Unite All Faiths under Rome)

The Word of God was there in the beginning, the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God.  The Word became Flesh.  The Word is Jesus Christ…

John 1:1,14
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God  14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 1:2
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Psalms 119:89
89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Proverbs 30:5
5 Every word of God is purified; he is like a shield for those who take refuge in him.

Psalms 119:140
140 Your word is absolutely pure, and your servant loves it!

2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

“Angus has pulled out key Scriptures for the reader to gain a better under standing of God’s Word?”  Really?  How is this possible when every verse in the Bible needs to be read in CONTEXT within the Bible itself in order for the Bible to be understood correctly.

If you take away from the bible you are TAKING AWAY from Jesus Christ who IS the WORD.

The Bible says that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of ones own private interpretation, the Holy Spirit helps us interpret the Word of God and within the Bible there is only one Truth – not many different interpretations – yet Angus Buchan has collected key scriptures within his bible (devotional) that will help one understand the bible better, the problem is Angus Buchan gives us his interpretation.

2 Peter 1:20
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

God says you are not to add too or TAKE AWAY anything from His Word, because you alter it’s meaning. Angus’s has disobeyed God and done just that.

Deuteronomy 4:2
2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Only Satan would take anything away from the Word of God, so that people can not be saved.

Luke 8:11-12
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

“Angus bible provides a concise overview of key messages of the entire Bible.”  Really?  So Angus’s Bible is better than God’s bible as it provides KEY messages for the reader!  God’s Bible on the other hand IS THE KEY MESSAGE – one can not begin to pluck out verses and create a summarized version of smaller key messages and think you are doing the Church a favour.  You are doing a gross injustice to the church and leading people straight to hell.

Proverbs 30:6
Add thou not unto his words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Revelation 22:18
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

“Angus provides short inspirational thoughts to encourage daily reading of the Bible?”  Or is that his bible?  Which bible are we speaking about here…

Why does a man have to encourage you to read your Bible?  That should be the work of the Holy Spirit (if He abides in you).

Here, Paul reminds the followers of Jesus Christ how they had welcomed the message of Jesus Christ with much joy given to them by the Holy Ghost in spite of severe suffering. And John mentions that the reason by which we know that Christ lives in us is by the Spirit  that God gave us (1 John 3:24).  How could the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives demonstrate to us that Christ lives in us?  Well we perceive His communication and His interaction with us and He is the One that edges us to read the Word of God as He is the One who illuminates scripture for us.

1 Thessalonians 1:6
6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

What Angus Buchan has done is effectively created a new gospel in his ‘bible’ because it’s not the whole council of God.

Ephesians 4:14
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

1 Timothy 4:7
7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

A little error destroys the truth completely.  Angus’s bible is nothing but leven as it does not contain the whole Truth.

Galatians 5:9
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

The Word of God tells you that you are to study the Bible, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, but this can’t be done in Angus’s bible because it does not contain the Truth.

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The Word of God says that greedy men will come and make money out of you of creating and selling FALSE BIBLES.

2 Peter 2:3
3 And through covetousness [Greed] shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

“Angus’s bible is an essential resource for spiritual growth?”  Really?  So Angus’s bible has now replaced God’s Word as the meat for our spiritual growth.

Man shall not live on bread alone, but the bible says, BY EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God.  Angus Buchan has removed most of the words from the Bible to create his own devotional version that is as dead as a door nail.  People will read this bible and still be hungry.

Matthew 4:2-4
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The Word of God is LIVING and ACTIVE – Jesus Christ is ALIVE.    Angus’s bible is not the Word of God and is therefore dead and can’t produce any growth what-so-ever. Angus’s false bible is blunt and can’t judge.

Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

The Word of God is the helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit, Angus’s false bible is neither.

Ephesians 6:17
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Angus’s bible will strengthen ever man’s faith and inspire them to live dedicated lives to God.  Really?  So Angus’s ‘word’ has now replaced the Word of God.  Angus’s bible will inspire people to live dedicated lives to God, instead of listening and being obedient to the Holy Spirit.

The Word of God is a lamp unto peoples feet and a light along that narrow path, it does not say that EXTRA BIBLICAL books are a lamp and light to people.

Psalms 119:105
105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

False teachers have crept in to seduce the masses, they will create ‘false bibles’ and the people will read these fables instead of the Word of God and follow a false Christ. The Word of God says that because of their evil doctrines and manners, God has a horrible punishment prepared for them.

Jude 1:4
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ok thanks because I read that the Alexander texts that they use for the new bible translations was modified by a guy called Origin that wasn’t a christian and then that modification was modified further by guys called Westcott and Hort that where occultists and where friends with Helena Bravatski. Also if you look at the NKJV its got a occult symbol on it which I found weird because the Word specifically says not to make any graven images of God. I thought that would be bad but anyway.

Sharon

Hendrik…When the NKJ came out it had the occult symbol on it. Because they received so much negativity they took the symbol off and re-changed some of the wording in different places

I am a KJV woman. BUT, I own other versions but when I study, teach, speak…etc. I use the KJV. It is what my grandfather preached from. It is the bible my brother still preaches from. I am going on 59 years old…the KJV is what is in my heart and it lights my path. I would never say that you can’t lead someone to Christ from different versions. I agree that the stuff that is coming out now is corrupt. The NIV for instance, leaves out the Deity of Christ 17 times among other errors.

For me personally, it will always be the KJV.

Sharon

Deb-ster, I have never heard this before. No Jesus is NOT a pagan name. He is known to English speaking people as Jesus. This is just one of the dumbest, ill mannered thing I have ever heard about King JESUS!. If it were pagan then the pagans would stop cursing in His name.

When people try to pretend to be Jewish I have to laugh. I know of a preacher in Florida that will only pray in the name of Yahweh which to a Jew is a God that is far off, not a God that indwells us. Yeshua/Jesus they are one in the same…our Savior.
I don’t know how people come up with this stuff. Well yes, I do know…they do not read the Word.

Deborah (Discerning the World) wrote:

Jesus is a pagan word? LOL NO, it’s not. It is not a derivative of Zeus. Millions of people have been saved using the name of Jesus Christ!

Angus Buchan and CUM Books…two peas in a pod. Is there a bigger fake, false prophet and false teacher than Buchan around in SA? I don’t think so. he should be avoided at all costs, as he is a wolf in sheep’s clothes. Beware of him.

You are right as both are in it for the money which is the wrong motive, a sure sign of a false teaching/teacher infiltrating wherever they can. Last time I checked his website he had 18 English books, 18 Afrikaans books and 4 DVD titles on sale. He has TV ministry and 2 films (stories written by him). He has numerous YouTube videos and a network of deceived churches supporting him. This shows how wide his impact is and dangerous for sure. CUM books sell all books that remotely resemble Christianity – they serve all spirits that have slipped in using the name of our Lord.

People do not see the lies he preaches and the lies that his team spread (even when not asked). Why do I say this? A comment on several of his posts on the internet by Bruce Winship: About criticism: “Not one cent goes to Angus. He lives in the same wattle and daub house that he built on his farm. He drives the same old car. He doesn’t even have medical aid.” said Bruce Winship.

He is not concerned about the “cent/s” as his eye is on multiple millions of Rands. Bruce Winship should be adding – “so figure out how he is able to travel all over SA and the world and be seen on the internet driving in newer vehicle/s on his farm” Probably just another of those miracles that he is so fond of inventing. Only people that have enough disposable income do not need medical insurance (if Bruce Winship is right about that part of the lie).

Are the deceived accepting such nonsense – YES they must be.

Matthew 6:24 (NIV)

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Andiswa

I fail to understand you guys….everyone of you. Too quick to cast stones. Why should we always fight amongst ourselves? And I am very certain that this being a spiritual issue it was never inspired by God to come out like this…no! Everyone just fall prey to these “judgement” orchestrAted by people who all they want to see is The Kingdom of God separated which is not going to happen. I believe that if God convicted whoever that is administering this page He surely convicted them to pray not exploit His children like this….nooo! And this is just a job to whoever is writing this….God did say that the enemy goes around like a lion lookin for whom to devour. It is saddening that instead of you guys covering your brothers and sisters’ nakedness yall are the ones exploiting. Forgetting one thing…..WE ARE IN THE SAME BODY…THE BODY OF CHRIST! OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE……..

Tom Lessing (Discerning the World)

Andiswa,

Did you address your tirade to Jesus Christ who said: ” Take heed that no man deceive yo.” . . . “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Mat 24:4; 24)?

Indeed, the devil goes about like a roaring line. But guess what? His lair is smack bang in the middle of the church.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. (1 Jn 2:18-19).

It is the spirit of Antichrist who wants to set up the “kingdom of God” here and now on earth whilst it is not God’s time to do so yet. Don’t be fooled to think a great awakening is sweeping the earth right now, as Angus Buchan and the other dominionists want you to believe. It is a false awakening which is called “The Great Apostasy.”

Do you really believe that false teachers are of the same body – the body of Christ? Read 1 John 2:18-19 again.

Hello Deborah,

With reference to “The Bible in 366 Days for Men of Faith”.

I understand your concern about “adding to” and “taking away from” the Word of God, but can you please provide me with statements that you believe Angus “has made” in his writings that is not the inerrant Word of God?

(It would be appreciated if you could respond to my aforementioned question without referencing concerns pertaining to the Translation being NLT, and also without referencing your concerns about “adding to” and “taking away from” the Word of God).

I agree that the relevant book is not to be seen as THE BIBLE, but rather as a journey through the bible with Angus Buchan. I do not understand why this article of yours, and various associated comments seek to paint Angus Buchan as a false preacher of some sort. What is false about the doctrine that he is preaching?

I would be appreciative if you could share with me factually what you know about Angus that leads you to believe that he is not sincere in his walk with God, or the doctrine that he preaches.

I look forward to your response.

You are also welcome to respond via email.

Kind Regards,
Norman

It is not what Angus preaches that indicts him with heresy. It is all the other things he strings along with him in his teaching – i.e. dominionism, ecumenism – that makes him so dangerous. God distinctly says that we should have no association or companionship with false teachers whatsoever. And yet, Angus, in disobedience to God, hails Rodney- Howard Brown a great teacher who fills people with fire and with faith. Tell me, how does one fill others with faith? Watch this video,

http://www.revival.com/pastor-rodney-with-angus-buchan.2658.1.htm

Do you approve of Angus’ association with false teachers, not to mention even his association with the RCC?

What does the Bible say?

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isa 8:20)

Both the RCC and Rodney-Howard Brown teach another Gospel. So why is Angus Buchan pandering to them? Fame?

Why would a preacher want to write a book called “The Bible in 366 Days for Men of Faith” when the men of faith already have the most wonderful book in the world to read?

Wow, What a bunch of Christian’s we have here. You are all mean to each other and very disrespectful to other Christians. While you are all nitpicking, the world is becoming more evil as we speak. We were commanded by Jesus That we Love one another as Christ has Loved you. Where is the compassion towards a brother who you believe is not doing something right. Approach him in Love and state your concern , don’t bring him down in public , and behind his back.I believe that this is why non Christians don’t wont to have anything to do with Christ. They see his follower’s fighting over things that should not be in public. If you have something against a brother talk to him in Love and humbly.
Yes there are false prophets , and Christian’s who are controlled by evil. If you do not Like this man’s book then don’t read it.
Jesus, Yeshua, Christ , who ever you address him by would I’M sure is very heart Broken by this division.
I say all these things in Love and pray that all Christians will bond together for the sake of this lost and dying world.
He that is without sin cast the first stone. A very near and dear friend once said this.

All the scriptures that were in this post were in my own works as I don’t wont to upset anyone who reads a different version than I Do.

Tom Lessing (Discerning the World)

Indeed, we are commanded to love our brothers and sisters in Christ and even our worst enemies but never to love their heresies. If you love their heresies, you love the lies of Satan and when you love his lies you love him. Is that what you would like to do – love Satan and his lies? The fact that we are warning him and others to repent of their heresies – in public – is because we love them and do not want them to be led astray by Satan.

Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. (Jas 5:20).

So, Angus Buchan and all the other false teachers are free to herald their heresies in public but we are not allowed to refute and rebuke him in public? Or is your love also the wishy-washy kind of love?

Deborah (Discerning the World)

keith porritt

Who are you referring to as ‘Christians’? Are you talking about us the authors of this blog or are you referring to the hundreds/thousands of people who have commented here who are against us? Basically your comment is telling us that we much keep quiet. What would you have said to the apostles when they exposed false teachers and wrote letters to churches warning them. or what about Peter who exposed Simon Magus? (Acts 8:9-25) Would you say; “Hey you Simon Peter disciple of Jesus Christ, you should be quite and love your enemy Simon the Sorcerer (who is St Peter of the Roman Catholic church), love the things he believes and is preaching and DO NOT warn others, ignore what Jesus said in the bible to content for the truth…” We love people hence we warn! You do not love people that is why you want us to be quiet.

Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

You speak about love, you don’t know what real love is Keith. Try for once and stand up for the truth and see how much FALSE LOVE you get back, especially note what a wonderful feeling of warmth you get in side when you are told by others shut up.

>> I say all these things in Love and pray that all Christians will bond together for the sake of this lost and dying world.

Bond together, really? Unite whether you are Pentecostal or Roman Catholic? Do you think Pope Fransis is the Vicar of Christ and infallible?

>> All the scriptures that were in this post were in my own works as I don’t wont to upset anyone who reads a different version than I Do.

That is funny, why didn’t you quote from the bible or are you afraid of it? Why use your own words? And don’t bring translation into the question because that’s just ridiculous. Yes there are versions that are totally occult like THE MESSAGE for instance. The KJV, NKJV etc has been faithful to lead people to Jesus Christ for MANY MANY years now.

keith porritt

Judge not less ye be judged, let he that is without sin cast the first stone.

keith porritt

Was Jesus’ Love the wishy washy kind of love that you speak of Tom . No it was a commandment that we Love another Like he Loved us.

Robbie

Keith… twice in a row (your last two comments) you exposed yourself in that you obviously pay someone like Angus to READ scripture to you instead of getting stuck in the Word yourself…

Deborah is right. Please read.
Oh and one more thing. do not be like the 100’s of “hit and runners” on this blog. Give some feedback when the light comes on please.

It’s shows here that you are very critical ,of others and their views. Very out spoken towards me and my spirituality. You dont know how much time I spend in the bible and prayer. You assume that I am a one hit wonder here . Have you people ever thought that people come here say their piece and never come back because you guys ripe apart their views. What gives you the right to be holier that thou. You are judging people you dont even know. you dont have the right to judge me .Only God can do that. How many people have come to Christ though this site . I bet none. How many people have come to Christ though Angus Buchan’s ministery. Ye shall know them by their fruits.I think this site is doing more harm than good. Maybe you hypocrites should take a look at the beam in your eyes and not the speck in others. My Savior and friend stated this ,My Lord and my God . Thats the opinion I listen to my father in heaven .All people have faults and make mistakes. I pray that you see the negativity here.
As I said before and say again you should test all things ,but in ” LOVE “, not with malice. Becoming mean if someone does not agree with you. If you do not agree with me thats ok , but convince me with LOVE AND KINDNESS . wHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE WRONG??????? I can take bible verses out of context too. I can quote many scriptures too, to make my point look good . What for.
There is a lost world out there and we should be worried about them not pulling others down.

keith porritt

The truth hurts, or sets you free

keith porritt

please read Matthew chapter 7, the whole chapter and pray that the holy spirit opens your spiritual eyes.
I guess this 1 hit wonder will not return ,as you have branded me. I ask that God will bless you and also convict you.

Mem of God why do you fight over this book? if it is helpful to get men reading and understanding the Word of God, then it is good. it never clams to be the bible The Forword say that the book hope to being a man closer to God. That a man might say of him “I see Jesus in him” this is the goal of every Christian right? your all posting you points of view and yet not willing to really think of what the reason most men fail to be christlike. This book is just a tool for Men to start growing in the word of God. it a good starting point for getting men to read and learn and as they do that they will seek the Lord more unless they are blasted by some of you for reading a book outside the bible.

Phillip

Call me stupid then, because The Bible was difficult to understand for me in some ways. And only when someone would explain some of the verses etc. would I be able to understand. I have not read Angus’ book, but I am sure he might want to help men(especially the less literate ones, which are quit common in S.A.). Sometimes the Holy Spirit would inspire us in strange ways to help others, ways that we don’t always understand ourselves. I will not stand in the way of Gods’ work, ever. Anyway, we are not to judge, for it is not our place to do so. May Gods people start standing as one bride one day. An eye cannot function without a brain. May Gods love be with you all.

Thank you Phillip, I am a South African and NOT illiterate. To judge is not an option. You are commanded to judge. In fact judging righteously is a sign of spiritual maturity.

1 Corinthians 2:15 Amplified Bible (AMP)

15 But the spiritual man [the spiritually mature Christian] judges all things [questions, examines and applies what the Holy Spirit reveals], yet is himself judged by no one [the unbeliever cannot judge and understand the believer’s spiritual nature].

Angus Buchan and every other preacher are not eabove judgement. In fact, the Bereans judged Paul’s preaching in the light of Scripture and so should you.

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Acts 17:10-11)

Deborah (Discerning the World)

Phillip

I just love how those who tell us not to judge come in full force and judge us. I am going to give you some scripture that is very easy to understand all by itself without me having to explain it to you:

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (Amplified Bible)

21 But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast.

John 7:24 (Amplified Bible)

24 Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.

>> I will not stand in the way of Gods’ work, ever.

How do you know it’s God’s work? Because someone quotes scripture it must be, is that your reasoning?

>> May Gods people start standing as one bride one day.

That’s a bit of a contradiction if ever there was one; firstly God’s people ARE the bride of Christ, secondly there are those who proclaim to be Christian but are not, therefore they are NOT the bride of Christ.

Do you believe Catholics, Mormons etc are Christian?
