Fallacies about God: Who is Responsible for The Violence and Mayhem in SA? (Part 7)

Riekert-Botha-God's chosen people
Riekert Botha

Riekert Botha takes the Afrikaner seminaries (Universities of Pretoria and Stellenbosch), and rightly so, to task for their abhorrent spiritualization of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, claiming that He was not raised with a literal body but something that looked like a body – a spirit-body. Ironically, Botha’ spiritualization of the nation of Israel into a people who are on God’s side, is nothing short of the same fallacy. Turn with me to Ezekiel 37 where God foretells Israel’s resurrection (physical and spiritual) from the dead (her physical restoration to her Promised Land and finally the remnant’s spiritual restoration at the Second Coming of Christ).

The hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of Jehovah and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. And he caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord Jehovah, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and, behold, an earthquake; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I beheld, and, lo, there were sinews upon them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off. Therefore prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, O my people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have opened your graves, and caused you to come up out of your graves, O my people. And I will put my Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I will place you in your own land: and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken it and performed it, saith Jehovah. (Ezekiel 37:1-14).

There is not the slightest indication in the above passage that it is a reference to all those who are on God’s side who allegedly replaced the whole house of Israel to inherit a spiritualized land or city. In fact, the rest of Ezekiel 37 (verses 15-28) unequivocally declares that God is going to unite the Northern and Southern Kingdoms who were divided after King Solomon’s death and make them one nation in their Promised Land as God promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And the most important reason for Him doing so is that the Gentile nations should know and acknowledge that He is Jehovah who sanctifies the whole house of Israel.

God never said this about the church (those who are on God’s side) that she would be instrumental in showing the heathen nations in a simultaneous timeframe that He is Jehovah (the Jewish national name for God). The reason why the Gentiles were presented with the Gospel, was to provoke Israel to jealousy (Romans 11:14), and not to show the heathen nations that God is Jehovah (Israel’s God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob).  This can and will only happen when Ezekiel 37 is fulfilled.

Neither will God judge South Africa for thinking that the Afrikaner people are the chosen people of God. This is not the cause for God’s judgments. No nation on earth can or may appropriate to itself the title of “God’s chosen people.” If any other nation, other than Israel, including the Ecclesia or those who are on God’s side, as Botha stipulates all the believers, were God’s chosen people, it would mean that salvation is of one of the nations and/or of the Ecclesia instead of the Jews (John 4: 22).

And, of course, Jesus would have been a liar. As was said before, for God’s Son, in whom He is well-pleased, to be fully man whilst He remained fully God, and to become like us in all things except sin (Hebrews 2: 16-17), He had to be well-founded in an entire nation, and not just a remnant of a nation or a spiritualized nation – all those who are on God’s side.

God’s covenantal loyalty to Israel may be observed in King Manasseh of Judah who is mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, recorded in Matthew 1: 1-12. He overturned his father’s reforms by tearing down the temples and altars the people built for other idols and led the people to “do more evil than the nations had done whom the LORD destroyed before the people of Israel.” (2 Kings 21).

In fact, all the kings of Israel in the North were evil kings who worshiped other gods. Even King Solomon who built the first temple became an idolator. And yet, God stuck to his covenant with King David which was an enlargement and further confirmation of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob regarding the land and his seed (the nation of Israel). The promise God made to David is given in 2 Samuel 7: 12-16.

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. (2 Samuel 7:12-16).

In summary, God promised to keep his covenant with King David despite his son Solomon’s horrendous iniquities, simply because all his covenants, except the Mosaic covenant, are unconditional and not dependent on the performance of the beneficiaries of his covenants. If “everlasting” became temporal and Israel’s nationhood was taken away from them because of their relentless sins, only to be transferred to a so-called people who are on God’s side (a phrase that never once appears in Scripture), then the Ecclesia should also be judged in the same way as Israel, for in these end-times she is replete with erroneous doctrines, shamanism, mysticism, lies, deceit and even outright idolatry, worse than that in the days of King Solomon and King Manasseh when Israel was overrun by the Chaldeans and taken in bondage to Babylon. Only this time the idolatry is far more dangerous because Satan who turns himself into an angel of light transforms his ministers into ministers of righteousness; (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

God shall accomplish everything He promised to Abraham and King David, and eventually, the throne of his father, King David, will be given to Jesus Christ as promised to Mary when the angel Gabriel brought her the news that she would conceive a Son by the Holy Spirit. (Luke 1: 30-33). This proves without question that God’s covenants and promises to Israel as a nation are irrevocable and He shall do his good pleasure.

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: (Isaiah 46:9-10)

In conclusion, it may be said that South Africa is not bearing the brunt of God’s righteous judgments because the Afrikaner has wrongly usurped Israel’s nationhood. The Afrikaner has been under God’s judgment from the moment they built a little church in Pietermaritzburg and followed it up with a monumental monstrosity of a temple (Voortrekker Monument) dedicated to the Freemason’s god, Baphomet (Satan) in Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city. The present judgments of God can be attributed directly to the idolatrous teachings in most churches, filled with false apostles and prophets who preach strange fire to thousands upon thousands of deceived congregants.
