Biblical Holy Spirit vs. Unholy Spirit of Fire

unholy kundalini demon of fireHoly Spirit vs. Filthy Spirit of Fire, the calling down of Fire from heaven over a congregation, or praying Fire over someone is the norm in the church today. It has come to  resemble the early heretic Gnostic churches. Religious ecstasy (or Kundalini) was to be found in the mystery religions of the first century A.D. Back when the Corinth church seemed to be a hub of pagan Gnostic knowledge and ran rampant in unscriptural and immoral practices; the Greek mystery religions had prophets who babbled in unknown tongues which were caused by a Kundalini awakening.

Below is a table explaining the differences between The Biblical Holy Spirit compared to The Kundalini unholy spirit that masquerades as the Biblical Holy Spirit.  This table is exhaustive and contains everything you need to know:

Holy Spirit unholy kundalini demon of fire

Holy Spirit

Kundalini Unholy Spirit of Fire

Who is the Holy Spirit?

Who is the Kundalini unholy spirit?

  • The Holy Spirit is not a force or a power, He is God, the third Person of the Godhead.  (1 Corinthians 3:16, John 14:26)
  • The Holy Spirit is a divine person, a being with a mind, emotions, and a will. (1 Corinthians 2:10; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
  • The Holy Spirit is also omnipresence. (Psalm 139:7-8)
  • The Holy Spirit is omniscience. (1 Corinthians 2:10-11)
  • The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we can’t pray. (Romans 8:26-27)
  • The Holy Spirit is our Helper, our Comforter and our Counsellor (John 14:16,26; 15:26)
  • The Holy Spirit will guide us and lead us into all Truth according to Biblical scripture. (John 16:12)
    • There is no extra-biblical revelation from the Holy Spirit.
  • A crucial part of the truth the Holy Spirit reveals is that Jesus is who He said He is. (John 15:26; 1 Corinthians 12:3)
    • The Holy Spirit convinces us of Jesus Christ’s deity and incarnation, that He is the Messiah.
    • He gives glory to Christ in all things.  (John 16:14)
  • The Holy Spirit’s role is that of gift-giver. (Corinthians 12)
  • The Holy Spirit is also the fruit producer in our lives. (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • An Esoteric description: Kundalini is a serpent goddess who lies asleep at the base of the human spine, coiled around the 1st Chakra, 3½ times.
  • The demons name is Kundalini Shakti, and ‘she’ represents the unfolding of the divine Shakti energy or Serpent Fire.
  • Kundalini is supposedly the energizing potential of life itself, a living goddess who enlivens all things.
    • It is Kundalini who creates the universe and knows Its Self as Creator.
    • Kundalini has been called “the face of God.”
  • After being awakened, Kundalini will be able to remove the knots of the major chakras, cleanse, open and develop the chakras until they are in fully blooming lotus forms – this to attain Yoga*
    • *Yoga (Enlightenment) refers to the different spiritual paths that aim for Yoga (union with Divine) – Religious ecstasy.

How do we receive the Holy Spirit

How do we get this unholy spirit?

  • We receive the Holy Spirit the moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
  • We receive the Holy Spirit by simply receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour (John 3:5-16)

** Through the false ‘Baptism of the unholy Spirit’.** The calling down of Fire (Serpent Fire).

** Being filled with the Unholy Ghost by Fire.

  • A Shaktipat is where one person’s kundalini is awakened by another who already has the experience.
  • Shaktipat only raises the kundalini temporarily but the demonic transference has taken place.
    • This is what is going on in the churches;  Kundalini is being transferred from one person to another – by blowing on someone, through baptismal water, laying on of hands, even holding ones hand over someone, but not touching them can begin a Shaktipat, etc.
    • Kundalini can also awaken spontaneously, for no obvious reason or triggered by intense personal experiences such as accidents, near death experiences, childbirth, emotional trauma, extreme mental stress, and so on -this is solely dependent on that ‘doctrines of demons’ one has been dabbling in.

Are there any happenings that go with the filling of the Holy Spirit?

Are there any feelings or happenings that go with this filling of the unholy spirit?

  • No, the evidence of a genuine salvation is you are now not controlled by your sinful nature but by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:9)
  • Chastisement by the Holy Spirit when we sin to repent of our sin and not sin again. (Hebrews 12:6-7; Hebrews 12:8)
  • Evidence of being born again is:
    • Obeying scripture, God’s commandments.  (1 John 2:5)
    • Respecting God’s pronouncements as authoritative in your life. Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour. (1 John 1:8)
    • No more love for the world. (1 John 2:15)
    • Living in daily awareness that Jesus Christ will return for His own! (1 John 3:2-3)
    • You are sinning less now than when you first made a profession of faith in Christ. You hate sinning.  (1 John 3:9)
    • Love for other believers in Jesus Christ. (1 John 3:14)
    • Praying and having prayers answered. (1 John 3:22)
    • Sharp Discernment as you find it easy to sort out the claims of various religions, etc. (1 John 4:1)
    • You have a conscious awareness that the Holy Spirit of God lives in you. He teaches you things from the Scriptures on a regular basis. (1 John 4:13)
  • You speak in tongues (gibberish).
  • Involuntary jerks, tremors, shaking, convulsing, crawling sensations.
  • Energy rushes like streams of fire or feelings of electricity circulating the body.
  • Moderate heat or Intense heat (sweating) or cold as ice, especially as energy is experienced passing through the chakras.
  • Visions seen or sounds heard, ESP – clairvoyance.
  • Trance-like and altered states of consciousness
  • Uncontrollable laughter or uncontrollable weeping.
  • Bliss, feelings of infinite love and universal connectivity, transcendent awareness.
  • Posture becomes fixed, you become paralyzed.
  • Utter sounds like those of animals, birds, frogs or of a lion or like those of jackals, dogs and tigers…
  • Intoxicated, your steps fall like one is drunk, speech is slurred as if drunk and and you are unable to do any other work.
  • You see Divine visions – angels of light, another ‘Jesus’
  • Future unfolds its secrets to you, you learn secrets supposedly from God.
  • The unholy spirit gives you unbiblical ‘hidden’ meaning of scriptures.

What does ‘Walking in the Spirit’ mean?.  What does being “Filled by the Holy Spirit’ mean?

What happens when we have opened our Third Eye? (6th Chakra)

  • The Filling of the Holy Spirit is an ongoing process in the Christian life as we grow in Holiness.  Also known as to “walk in the Spirit; It is to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading.
  • It is essential to “walk with” the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to guide your steps and conform your mind. (Ephesians 4:1; Philippians 1:27)
  • The arousing of kundalini is said by some to be the one and only way of attaining Divine Wisdom. (Genesis 3:4-5)
    • Self-Realization is said to be equal to Divine Wisdom or Gnosis or what amounts to the same thing: self-knowledge-(knowing that ‘I am a god’).
  • New knowledge is brought into the church, as self proclaimed apostles and prophets pronounce, EXTRA unbiblical revelations and unbiblical prophetic utterances.

Evidence or Signs:

False Signs and Wonders:

  • Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2)
  • If we need healing or deliverance we are to ask HIM DIRECTLY through prayer and He will heal us.
    • We do not need to go to men with so called ‘gifts of healing’ when we can approach Jesus Christ directly.
    • Yes we can have others pray for us (genuine Christians that is).
    • We pray in faith, but faith means that we are to trust God. We trust Him to do what is best and to know what is best. (Romans 8:28)
    • Suffering is part of life for both the unbeliever and the believer. For the believer it is often used by God in the development and maturing of our faith.  (Philippians 3:10)
    • Paul the apostle prayed to have his “thorn in the flesh” removed, but God said, “No” because He wanted Paul to understand that for in Paul’s weakness, God’s strength is made perfect. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
    • Do not conclude that because you have not been healed that you have an absence of faith, lack faith or have some secret sin that prevents your healing.
  • The Kundalini unholy spirit is a show and tell of signs and wonders as seen above.
  • Kundalini is a powerful healing force and will in a ‘counterfeit’ way heal you from any ailments/diseases or deliver you from drugs/alcoholism, etc.
    • You will usually feel heat, electricity, or ice when the satanic healing takes place.
  • Can Satan heal?  Of course he can! See this article for full explanation:

This Kundalini spirit is found in all religions across the world just under different names:

kundalini - unholy spirit

  • The ancient Egyptians called kundalini power Ra, who is symbolized as the Sun because the Sun is the source of kundalini energy.
  • In Islam kundalini power is known as Salaat. Called the Swaying Zikr and Whirling Dervish.
  • The early Gnostics, like Pythagorus referred to the concept as ‘Pneuma’
  • Hippocrates was aware of it as well; he referred to it as ‘vis medicatrix naturae’.
  • Religious studies also note parallels in Quakerism and Shakerism.
  • The Hebrews of ruach causing the Judaic Shuckling or (torso-rocking prayer)
  • The quiverings of the Eastern Orthodox Hesychast.
  • The Chinese movements of Tai Chi or ki.
  • The ecstatic Shamanistic dance,
  • The Bushmen dance the Ntum trance dance.
  • The Tibetan Buddhist tummo heat as practised by Milarepa,
  • Japan‘s Aum Shinrikyo group
  • The Mexican Huichols call it kupuri,
  • The Dakota Indians speak of wakan;
  • The African Sotho of moya;
  • The Bantu of nzmbi;
  • The Australians of joja;
  • Indonesian know of petara;
  • The Eskimos of quaumaneq.

Montanism

Montanism - unholy spirit

Montanism was an early Gnostic so called Christian movement of the late 2nd century, later referred to by the name of its founder, Montanus, but originally known by its adherents as the New Prophecy (or ‘The Phyrgian Heresy’) . The heretical movement spread rapidly to other regions in the Roman Empire at a time before Christianity was generally tolerated or legal. It persisted in some isolated places into the 6th century.

It was a prophetic movement that called for a reliance on the spontaneity of the Holy Spirit and spoke extra biblical revelation.  Parallels have been made between Montanism and modern day movements such as the charismatic movement, and the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). [1]

As the name “New Prophecy” implied, Montanism was a movement focused around prophecy, specifically those of the movement’s founders which were believed to contain the Holy Spirit’s revelation for the present age.[2] New Prophecy departed from Church tradition as described by Eusebius of Caesarea [3]: “And he [Montanus] became beside himself, and being suddenly in a sort of frenzy and ecstasy, he raved, and began to babble and utter strange things, prophesying in a manner contrary to the constant custom of the Church handed down by tradition from the beginning.”[4]

The Montanist prophets did not speak as messengers of God but were described as possessed by God while being unable to resist. Montanists believed that the new prophecies superseded and fulfilled the doctrines proclaimed by the Apostles.[5]  Thus, they were seen as false prophets because they acted irrationally and were not in control of their senses.[6]

The Roman Catholic unholy spirit of FIRE

The church has gone so far with this unholy fire that it has literally ENGULFED the entire church. You need to be permanently on FIRE for God according to the powers that be (TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network), God TV, Rodney Howard-Browne, Kenneth Copeland, Angus Buchan, Rick Joyner, Ray McCauley, Cindy Jacobs, Deon Hockey, Kim Clement, Marc Bredenkamp, Leon du Preez, Harold Weitsz, et al.) as they spell out their incantation and throw FIRE, FIRE, and more FIRE in the congregations direction.  Those in the congregation who have experienced this religious ecstasy want more, and those who have not experienced it, want to experience it because they believe this is the Holy Spirit as work.

Unholy Spirit of FireUnholy Spirit of FireThe ‘Heart of God is now on FIRE and everyone is pushed in this direction by the church to get to know ‘God’s heart‘.  What they don’t tell you is that this ‘Heart of God’ is the Roman Catholic Sacred Heart of Jesus, and it is also the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

heart of fire - unholy spirit

The church as it currently stands is being shoved towards pagan ROME at a rapid speed. But in order for Pentecostals and Charismatics to accept Roman Catholicism they would first have to accept the ‘spirit‘ by which it operates. Rome’s EVANGELIZATION of non-Catholics started decades ago, and their hard labour has paid off.  Just as the ancient Egyptians viewed Kundalini as being Ra‘ who is symbolized as the sun because the sun is the source of kundalini energy. So does the Roman Catholic Church who, worships the Sun god Mithra (incarnation of Ra).

Let’s have a look and see that the bible says about “fire called down from heaven” in the New Testament.

Revelation 13:13 “he [antichrist] doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,”

G4442 πῦρ pur (pïr’) n.
fire.
{literally or figuratively}

This fire is spiritual and literal. In the last days, the antichrist, the false Church, and it’s followers call down spiritual FIRE from heaven onto earth – this fire is satanic, it’s captures your soul with fake love and false manifestations that capture your mind. The antichrist will also bring down real fire from heaven in the sight of me to deceive them.

Was fire ever called down from heaven when Jesus walked the earth?  Nope, how do we know? Well let’s go to God’s Word…look at this:

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, the disciples James and John wanted to call down fire from heaven in judgment of a Samaritan village that did not welcome the Lord Jesus Christ.  What did Jesus Christ say to his disciples?

Luke 9:55- “But He turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

As we can clearly see from the bible, this spirit is from Satan, and is NOT the Holy Spirit.  Jesus had not come “to condemn the world, but to save the world” (John 3:17)

This ‘fire that is called down from heaven’ is from Satan, another spirit, an unholy spirit – that condemns you.

[Edited 5 Oct 2018:  I’ve added this to explain the above in more detail because of this comment: 2018/10/05 at 3:17 pm:

Please note I am not saying that God did not ever use fire to destroy wickedness.

In the verses Luke 9:54-56 Jesus rebukes his disciples for trying to call down fire from heaven, why?  Jesus would never rebuke Elijah for what he did in calling down fire to destroy wickedness, if He did He would be rebuking the Father Himself as God rained fire and brimstone down on Sodom and Gomorrah and surrounding towns. One needs to compare OT to NT. Different dispensations.

What do the words “You know not what manner of spirit you are of.” mean?  James and John in all their faithful zeal to Jesus Christ thought they were doing a good thing by wanting to destroy the wicked town that rejected Jesus by doing as Elijah did when he called down fire under OT Law. However the Apostles in training as I call them (Peter, James, John) had just recently seen Moses and Elias speaking with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. So James and John, thinking they could copy Elijah, where wrong in their thinking, and were in fact sinning when they wanted to call down fire, because they did not understand and they were under grace and Jesus didn’t operate like that. That is why Jesus rebuked them.

Anyone who wants to call down fire (be it physical fire or spiritual fire to destroy the soul) in this age of grace has a spirit of vengeance and it’s not from God.

This fire is a counterfeit. It’s a fire that leads to the UNITY of all religions, the joining of Protestant and Catholic, a co-reformation – into the false Christian church we have today. ]

Charles Spurgeon

And if you think calling down fire is limited to only Charismatics?  Think again.  The so called ‘Prince of Preachers’ of Calvinism, Charles Spurgeon himself called down demonic Kunalini fire.

Holy Fire / Divine Fire / Heart of Flame

Holy Fire

Charles Spurgeon: “The church needs fire to quicken her ministers, to give zeal and energy to all her members. Having this fire, she burns her way to success! The world meets her with the fire of firewood, but she confronts the world with the fire of kindling spirits, and of souls aglow with the love of Jesus Christ. She trusts not to the wit, and eloquence, and wisdom of her preachers, but to the divine fire which clothes them with energy! She knows that men are irresistible when they are filled with hallowed enthusiasm sent from God. She trusts therefore in this, and her cry is, “Come, Holy Fire, abide upon our pastors and teachers! Rest upon every one of us!” —The Superlative Excellence of the Holy Spirit #574 https://www.spurgeongems.org/vols10-12/chs574.pdf

Divine Fire

Charles Spurgeon: “Brothers, I beseech you keep to the old gospel, and let your souls be filled with it, and then may you be set on fire with it! When the wick is saturated, let the flame be applied. Fire from Heaven is still the necessity of the age. They call it “go”, and there is nothing which goes like it; for when fire once starts upon a vast prairie or forest, all that is dry and withered must disappear before its terrible advance. May God Himself, who is a consuming fire, ever burn in you as in the bush at Horeb! All other things being equal, that man will do most who has most of the Divine fire.” — How to Meet the Evils of the Age Chapter 4 https://archive.spurgeon.org/misc/aarm04.php

Occult teaching on Holy fire and Divine fire

Theosophy: “In a certain sense, the task before the disciple is the evocation of the “divine fire, Kundalini, and the infusion of the principle of Will in him by that divine fire; the golden light mingling with the red flame, to produce the colour of the mystic rose. The fiery aspiration of the disciple evokes the higher celestial fire, and the two blend in one, the holy fire which shall thereafter illumine and enkindle that disciple’s heart and life and every act.” –— The Theosophical Quarterly Volumes 17-18  1919 edited by Clement Acton Griscom pg. 226,  https://books.google.com/books?id=g3g1AQAAMAAJ

Heart of Flame (see Roman Catholic Heart of Fire above)

Spurgeon: “But we bless God that there are not so many of that sort, now, and we pray that the race may become quite extinct—and that every pulpit may be filled with a man who has a tongue of fire and a heart of flame and who shuns not to declare the whole counsel of God, neither seeking the smiles of men nor dreading their frowns!” — The Dumb Singing #2625 http://www.spurgeongems.org/vols43-45/chs2625.pdf

Occult teaching on Heart of Flame

Universal Brotherhood (Theosophical teachings):”Then One spoke – He of the mighty arm – He of the eye of power. And He inquired (speaking calm and low, and looking round on all the gathered throng) who would willing go into the world of flesh – to waken all the souls that now could hear, and teach to them the meaning high, sublime, of life; show them the Movement – flowing onward like a river vast, with but one source and end; teach them how to enter on that tide, and moving with Love – and for this Fire Divine in thee thou hast been called ‘The Heart of Flame.— UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD, Volume 15, nos. 7-12, pg. 439-440  https://www.scribd.com/document/37146710/Universal-Brotherhood-v15-n7-12

I left my NG church because I wanted to be babtised, I went to the local Pentecostal church and started attending it. There were strange things that I saw for the first time in my 46 years. But when the “prophet” arrived and started telling everyone’s fortunes I just knew this was a false church.(falling over, strange tongues/ shaking and unholy laughter, just to name a few)

Shortly after I was babtised I started having blasphemous thoughts. I thought I was going crazy. How do I get rid of this kundalini spirit? How do I get it out of me and off me?

  2. Dear Ida

Pray to Jesus Christ and repent Ida. Tell Jesus you repent for going to this Pentecostal church and for wanting to be baptised in a false Holy Spirit, ask Jesus to please remove all demons attached to you and break all affliction over you in His Mighty Previous Name. Ask Jesus Christ to show you the truth going forward, that if there is anything in your life that you believe to be true but is actually a lie that Jesus Christ shows you so you can repent. 🙂

    Hello

I have just found this page recently and I find it very interesting. It confuses me right now, but hopefully it will clear up later, when I read more.
So I would like to ask you about a danish evangelist Torben Sondergaard. Here is a link to his youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/user/DanishEvangelist
What do you think is it Kundalini?
    Thanks very much!

  4. Dear Zsolt

I am glad you are reading the article and thinking about it

I will check out the video in the morning and let you know what I think. That’s if Tom doesn’t watch it before me and let you know what he thinks.

  5. Hi Zsolt :hi:

I looked at the following video The Last Reformation

A few things stick out for me.

    1) In the video at 1:13 min they say you get baptised (in water) FOR THE REMISSION OF YOUR SINS – this is not correct.

“Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” (Acts 19:4).

John the Baptist’s baptism in water was a baptism of repentance, but when Jesus Came, you were to be spiritually baptised in Jesus Christ’s name.

“And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” (Acts 2:38).

When you are genuinely born again you prayed to Jesus Christ and you repented to Jesus and ask Him for forgiveness of all your sins and because of this you are automatically spiritually baptised in the name of the Jesus Christ, there after the Holy Spirit will immediately come to abide in you permanently.

    2) Baptism in water was for Jewish unbelievers. We are gentiles and we believe solely by faith and we do not need to be baptised in water.

John the Baptist says: “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. ” (Matthew 3:11-12)

“And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.” (John 1:33)

What’s the point of us being baptised in water? When you are born again you are automatically SPIRITUALLY baptised by Jesus Christ where after the Holy Spirit comes to live in you. Now you go and dunk yourself in a swimming pool? For what? As a work? To complete your salvation? For forgiveness of sin? No.

    3) There is a guy in the pool at 2:02 min he is speaking in tongues. See article on Speaking in Tougues

    4) At 2:30 min here a woman is slain in the spirit – she falls over under the power of a false spirit.

    5) There is another guy in the pool at 2:34 min who is convulsing in the water – this is Kundalini.

This “The Last Reformation” they speak about is none other than the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) / Latter Rain Movement. Same group of people, same false teaching, same tricks.

    Jonathan wrote:

    Hi, I’m 16 years old.

Baptism of Holy Spirit doesn’t happen when we accept Jesus. Read Book of Acts carefully. Tongues is from the Holy Spirit. Read 1 Cor 14. You can even sing in tongues to God, and I feel it’s heavenly and praising God. I know someone who spoke in tongues the moment she accepted Jesus. A great sphere of fire fell down and bounced between two walls, and it came into her belly, and she started speaking in tongues. ((( DUNAMIS – DYNAMITE )) God IS SPIRIT. He shows his power through Fire falling down etc. That woman was New Ager before she came to Jesus. Btw, only she could see the Sphere of Fire. Sometimes God makes us see with Our Spiritual Eyes. We have Spiritual eyes too.

(2 Kings 6:17) And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

“But you shall receive power (“dunamis”) – ability, efficiency and might – when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends – the very bounds – of the earth” (Acts 1:8, AMP.).

“Now to Him Who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or conceive, by the power (“dunamis”) which is at work among us . . .” (Ephesians 3:20, NEB).

Holy Spirit is Fire too, because the bible tells us to NOT (( QUENCH )) THE HOLY SPIRIT. He sets us on Fire, he makes us Zealous for God. Fire – Zealous. On fire for God. Fire is purifying. Fire is Purging. Fire is powerful.

The fire is Holy. God is a consuming fire. The Holy Ghost fire purifies us! He burns up all slag. At Pentecost fire fell down at them and they spoke in tongues. The Fire is of God. But Satan wants to pervert works of God, so don’t mix them together. You can read it in Acts 2.

At Heidi Baker’s ministry, there’s a picture of Fire falling down at people. Based on Acts 2. She have served 300 ppl with food from one pot, so God is using her and that is God working, thus the Fire is from God.

(Malachi 3:3) And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Feelings of Living water/energy or electricity in the body is from God, because it’s the anointing. The Holy Spirit can hug us, he’s a person. I’ve heard of people who have been hugged by Jesus, and it felt like electricity. The Holy Spirit Power is Dunamis (Dynamite). He’s rivers of living water. There’s huge power in Rivers of living water. He can definetly come with such sensations. Giving life to dry bones.. Fire in those bones. Ezekiel… The Holy Spirit can fill us up (this is biblical) and make our cups run over. He gives us Oil of Joy (Heb 1:9 and Psalm 23). That’s why we can get sensations like electricity and energy.

“…washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” -Titus 3:5.

(Job 8:21) Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

(Romans 14:17) For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Greek – Source of Joy ….Laughing is Source of Joy.

I smell the Holy Spirit as New Wine lately, and it’s likened to him filling me up (vessel). It’s from God because I rejoice in God and praise him, and feel liberty. Worshipping him in Spirit & truth like I prayed. I was only focusing on God. The Holy Spirit fixes our eyes on God. God makes me laugh in joy sometimes, but not laughing as in laying on the floor laughing uncontrollably. God makes me laugh in joy, rejoicing like normal laughing. I had been very SAD/depressed Before, and DRY spiritually. I felt purity. I weep sometimes for no reason. It’s because fruit of the Holy Spirit is humility maybe. Sometimes we weep for our Sins uncontrollably. I’ve done that. It’s good to be crying out to God sometimes. Crying can come from God. “…but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” – Rom 8:15.

My mum got a call once from someone whose infant was dying. She got great distress and just cried uncontrollably and prayed to God. Then they called and the infant was healed.

I can’t say that I have had all those manifestations you describe. However, I agree with you that speaking in tongues is the initial Biblical evidence of having received the Holy Ghost. I speak in recognizable languages: Hebrew, Arabic, Fijian, Maori, German and some as yet unidentified Asian tongue. I do not do it for show, as some think, but this is how I pray at home: “i pray with the understanding (English) and I pray with the Spirit (tongues.)”
I Corinths 14:4,5 says this is for our own personal edification (it is only for the edification of the church when accompanied by interpretation.)
I am 68 (almost,) and have been praying in the Spirit for over 41 years.
I love Jesus and I love souls. I love this precious gift..my understanding is unfruitful, but my spirit knows its right.
Funny how they never had one verse from the Old Testament to believe that the tongues they all spoke forth in, in Acts 2:4 (and other places in Acts,) was of God, yet they ALL accepted it was. That is because: “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is stronger.” They just KNEW!
Nowadays, we have all the verses in Acts and in I Cor 14 and folk still say its of the devil!
I know of a dear lady who received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues a long while and laughed and laughed! She had been the most depressed person you could meet almost! But after that experience she loved Jesus Christ and was joyful.
    God bless you brother.

  12. Dear Lindy

1 Corinthians 13:8 “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”

The end of the Book of Acts was also the end of God’s dealings with the nation of Israel. Acts 28:25-28 stands as God’s last words to the nation of Israel for nearly 2000 years. The Jews sought after signs (1 Corinthians 1:22) so God gave them signs including the Gentiles who were among them in order to provoke Israel to jealousy (Romans 11:14). But with the close of the book of Acts, God sets aside Israel for a time to turn his attention to the Gentiles, and when God gave up on the ‘the people who needed signs‘ (Jews) for a time, the sign gifts passed away. Jews need signs – Gentiles believe by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7).

    1) Are you like the Jews Lindy who need signs to believe?
    2) If your tongues went away Lindy would you still believe?
    3) Is your faith made stronger because you speak in tongues?
    4) Can you do without it?
    5) If so, stop because that is not the Holy Spirit that is enabling you to speak in other languages.

  13. Benjamin says:

Even Jesus himself was told that he had a demon and casted out demons by the spirit of Beelzebub: Luke11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

If you people read your bible, there would be no need for back and forth arguement . Read Joel2:28-32. 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

  14. Benjamin

You said “Even Jesus himself was told that he had a demon and casted out demons by the spirit of Beelzebub: Luke11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.”

Are you a Pharisee? They were the ones who believed this to be true, that Jesus cast out demons using the power of Satan. And Jesus Christ told them they have committed the unforgivable sin for saying this.

You said “If you people read your bible, there would be no need for back and forth arguement . Read Joel2:28-32. 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:”

Wow, ok, lookie here Mr pot calling the kettle black. Once you have read those verses you quoted….try reading to verse 31 and beyond. Wink/ It says this will take place right before….the….great and terrible day of the Lord. And what is “the day of the Lord”.

      Joel 2:31
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

That is The 7 year Tribulation. The Rapture of the body of Christ would have just taken place, where the Holy Spirit who restrained the Antichrist through the Church on earth was taken out of the way by God through taking the Church out of the way (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7). Right after that if we read the book of Acts. It says:

      Acts 2:17
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:’

Now, after the Rapture, God then pours the Holy Spirit out on all flesh. Now tell me Benjamin, will you be raptured (because you were born again) or will you be left behind to face the Tribulation (because you are not born again)?

Please note that the pouring out of the Holy Spirit does not equate to Kundalini type manifestations. Be careful Benjamin, don’t be like a Pharisee and ever compare the Holy Spirit to Satan’s demonic power.

  15. Benjamin says:

    Deborah:

Wow, ok, lookie here Mr pot calling the kettle black?

Some scriptures for you: Firstly:Luke 6;43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh

    Secondly:1john3:20
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things

    Lastly:
    Acts 19:1-7

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve

    Thanks.

  16. Dear Benjamin

What did I say in my first comment?

“That is The 7 year Tribulation. The Rapture of the body of Christ would have just taken place, where the Holy Spirit who restrained the Antichrist through the Church on earth was taken out of the way by God through taking the Church out of the way (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7).”

I said “the body of Christ would have just taken place, where the Holy Spirit who restrained the Antichrist through the Church on earth

    I agree with Acts 19:1-7.

The Holy Spirit is here today as He was right there with the Apostles after He came at Pentecost, He was there then and He is here right now.

Please read this article to explain the different between Joel and Acts on the outpouring of the Holy Spirit – https://www.discerningtheworld.com/2009/12/01/your-sons-and-your-daughters-will-prophesy-but-not-yet/

Please also tell me, do you believe that Kundalini manifestations are one and the same as the Holy Spirit?

Have you been slain in the spirit?

  17. Benjamin says:

Your question about the kundalini. I have no idea what it is supposed to be.I can only speak of what the scriptures promises and says.
But the Holy Spirit as promised by Jesus Act 1:8(But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.) is still very much alive in the true church of God today.

    Thanks.

  18. Dear Benjamin

You said ” I have no idea what it is supposed to be.”

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world

If you do not test the spirits, how do you know that these manifestation are from the Holy Spirit and not a lying spirit of the antichrist instead?

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

What is your purpose of commenting on this article? What are you trying to prove?

We are saying that you need to TEST the spirit (who claims to be the Holy Spirit) that runs rampant through churches today – and you are saying “NO!, don’t test, just accept it.” You just take for granted that what is happening to you and in your church is from the Holy Spirit.

In the article above I tell you from the Bible how the Holy Spirit behaves and what His function is. These manifestations of convulsing, heat and electricity, being slain in the spirit, falling over backward is not how the Holy Spirit behaves.

Have you been slain in the spirit.
Have you been anointed by this’fire’?

  19. Marilyn says:

‘I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you’ – The Apostle Paul! What more than the unbalanced, misled Corinthians?

Should we then judge Paul also? The authlor of the Epistles that we we all know and love, enabling us to learn the doctrines of grace.

  20. Dear Marilyn

Yip Marilyn, very true, the Apostle Paul spoke in tongues (1 Corinthians 14:18)….and then? Then tongues CEASED (1 Corinthians 13:8). See article on speaking in tongues.

  21. Marilyn says:

I know the verses Deborah, my interpretation of ‘the perfect’ varies with yours however, I don’t believe ‘the perfect’ is the canon on scripture but our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

‘Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.’

With respect to the above verse do you believe all knowledge pass away once the canon was completed?

  22. Marilyn says:

Is this page more about some of the phonemena seen in Charismatic circles than the belief that gifts like tongue exist today? If the former, I too am deeply troubled.

Sadly not all is done biblically or decently in Charismatic churches and should be questioned rigorously. I speak as a cautious Charismatic but if a counterfeit is at large won’t there be a genuine article that is being counterfeited?

I love the Word of God also but I know singular texts can be used to support erroneous arguments. This hasn’t deterred me from reading it over the half century of being a Christian believer. The undesirable phenomena or the urban myth of someone cursing in a tongue hasn’t waylaid my belief in the scriptural validity of speaking in tongues either.

  23. Hi Marilyn,

May I ask you few questions? Here goes

    1) Would you say there are more than one language or method of communication in heaven? Can we determine whether there are more than one, that’s if there are more than one?
    2) Would you say that the origin of languages was a form of judgment or blessing?
    3) Would you say the disciples spoke in known languages or did the people who were present on the Day of Pentecost hear them speak in their own existent (not heavenly) languages?
    4) Are tongues meant for believers or unbelievers?

  24. Marilin

The tongues to which Paul refers in 1 Corinthians 14:18 were not a multiple of so-called heavenly tongues but known tongues of his time, and I can prove it to you.

  25. Marilyn says:

Thanks Tom for your ‘leading’ questions 1 to 4 which seem to be designed to show that tongues should be an understood language, I would prefer to debate from the basis of scripture. The answers are therefore found in 1 Cor 14:2 :
For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

On this basis and within the plain meaning of scripture it is reasonable to suppose that the tongues spoken at Pentecost were different from those spoken by the Corinthians and also the Apostle Paul.

I am an aware of a bizarre and arguably blasphemous argument by John McArthur that the tongues spoken by the Corinthians were borrowed from the pagan temples and Paul was speaking sarcastically and dissingeously in 1 Cor 14:2. I would appreciate a more reasoned scriptural argument than this and am looking forward to it, particularly your exposition of 1 Cor 14:8 and your sound biblical exegesis.

  26. Marilyn,

A simple reading of Acts 2:11 proves that the tongues phenomenon at Pentecost was a “hearing” and not a “speaking” one.

Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. (Acts 2:11)

They HEARD the disciples speaking in THEIR tongues (and not different tongues as in supernatural, unknown heavenly tongues) whilst the disciples themselves spoke in their own mother tongue. This explains what happened in 1 Corinthians 14:2. Foreigners who visited the church at Corinth often spoke in their OWN mother tongues without anyone present able to interpret those languages. The phrase “speaks not to men” simply means that the Corinthians could not understand what these foreigners uttered in their mother tongues making it impossible for them to be edified spiritually by what they said. God, on the other hand, who created everything including languages, perfectly understood what the foreigners said in their own mother tongues, causing the person who spoke in his own mother tongue the only one to be edified spiritually. Whatever the person said in his own mother tongue was a mystery (unknown) to the Corinthians, not to God.

Only a single language is spoken in heaven. There is no such thing as “tongues” (plural) in heaven and I can prove it to you.

  27. Marilyn says:

Just lost a detailed reply, too tired right now to start again. With respect to the latter comment of yours, of course there will be no plural tongues in heaven you are so right.

1 Corinthians 13:10 – ‘But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.’

At our Saviour’s appearing tongues and the like will be redundant and verse 12 of the same chapter seems to allude to that glorious day!

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

  28. Marylin,

I did not say there will be no plural tongues in heaven. I said there are and never have been plural tongues in heaven.

So, if there are only a single means of communication in heaven, where do these so-called unknown, heavenly tongues come from? What’s the use of speaking in tongues that do not exist? God is not a God of confusion.

Do you speak in unknown tongues? If so, when and how did you learn to speak in tongues? Even better, have you been slain in the spirit?

  29. Marilyn says:

I am cautious in making a reply I do not speak on this subject very often. I have no real interest in who does and who doesn’t speak in tongues.

When I was younger I prayed in my own bedroom for an infilling of the Holy Spirit, I had never once witnessed ‘slaying in the Spirit.’ As God answered prayer I fell down and got up again. What followed was a greater love for Jesus and a desire to know more of God’s word. A few years later in my bedroom again, at a Non Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian college I spoke in tongues for the first time for the duration of an hour whilst being wonderfully aware of God’s presence and love.

What I’m describing however is only a small part of who I am, I have led bible studies that cover an overview of the Old and the New testaments this last couple of years and I’ve majored on God’s faithful dealings with His people and how the Old points to and prefigures Jesus, leading into the New, the gospels and the epistles. I can only remember speaking about my earlier experiences once and then I moved on! It is God we should seek foremost not experiences.
