Angus Buchan and the Roman Catholic Reconciliation

Angus Buchan - belfastAngus Buchan and the Roman Catholic Reconciliation

In 2008 I wrote an article on Angus Buchan called The Dominionist Faith of Angus – Faith Like Potatoes and in it I noted the following:

Angus recently went to Ireland and preached to Protestants and Roman Catholics: [Emphasis added below]

**  “This Sunday I will be in Durban and next week I go to Belfast, Northern Ireland to preach to the Protestants and the Roman  Catholics and the whosoevers.” [3]

**  “We saw many healings, salvations and re-commitments and a stirring in the hearts of the Irish people.” … [16]

** “At our meetings we had Catholics and Protestants together, surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ. It was a wonderful time of reconciliation.”[16]

Re-commitments?  To what? ….

How can a Roman Catholic re-commit to Jesus Christ? I am sure the Pope is jumping with joy at this – a reconciliation of all faiths to one Christ. So we now have Protestants and Catholics accepting a false Christ or re-committing to their false Christ, going back to their respective churches, never denouncing their heretical beliefs that go against the Word of Godand repenting and thinking themselves ‘saved’.

Any discerning Christian knows that the Vatican is the either the antichrist or false prophet mentioned in the book of Revelation.

Then on the 27th and 28th May 2011 –

“South African farmer and evangelist Angus Buchan is trusting God to move mightly in the hearts of Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland when he shares the gospel with them at the Odyssey Arena sports and entertainment centre in Belfast this weekend (May 27 and 28).

width=The 15 000-capacity arena, which is rated as one of the six top indoor event arenas in the world, was chosen as a neutral venue that would make it as easy as possible for both Catholics and Protestants  to attend, said Buchan in an interview.  “It is an indoor stadium, the biggest one in Northern Ireland.  It is at the waterfront in Belfast.  I am not a priest or a reverend, I am a farmer, and  we are trusting that that is going to bring the two groups together.

In June last year Buchan addressed 7 500 people during a 3-day outreach, billed as “Maize n Grace”, at an equestrian centre in the Northern Ireland village of Fintona . He said it had been an “absolutely  amazing” time and that both Catholics and Protestants had responded positively and whole families had attended.

“I think that there is a real hunger in Ireland for the truth.  As we know, from Europe and Britain and from Ireland, many missionaries have gone all over the world, but they are in a state of darkness at the moment and we trust that just by preaching the simplistic gospel of Jesus Christ, getting back to grassroots in other words, that it will bring revival there,” said Angus Buchan.

Asked what he expected from the weekend, he said: “The only way reconciliation will come is when Jesus Christ is the central figure.  It is the same in our beloved South Africa.  It is only Jesus that can make the difference and that is exactly what I am going over to tell them.  I believe it will work because it has worked here, as you know, with the Mighty Men Conferences, and we are believing for nothing less than Holy Ghost revival!” [Emphasis added]   (Deborah note: It worked here?  Really?  On what planet does Angus Buchan reside on?  All we have here in South Africa are massive camping and braai festivals (disguised as Christian conferences) where men blow Shofars in a self-righteous act of ‘let’s see who can blow theirs the loudest, and just maybe God will hear them and respond because of the holy noise‘.)   — see full article here:  link has been remove from internet

“We saw the power of God moving in no uncertain terms and experienced the peace of the Lord which passes all understanding,” said Angus Buchan of his recent two-night evangelistic outreach to Roman Catholics and Protestants at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Catholic IRA movement

 width=

About 12 000 people attended the meetings on May 27 and 28, and in an unprecedented development the co-leaders of the Northern Ireland Government, First Minister Peter Robinson (Democratic Unionist Party, with strong links to the Protestant churches in Northern Ireland) and Deputy First Minister Martin Mc Guinness (Sinn Fein – regarded as the political wing of the Catholic IRA movement) contacted the outreach organisers before the event and said they wanted to endorse Buchan’s message.  [Emphasis added]

Robinson said: “Angus Buchan has a reputation as an international evangelist but also as a humble man. As a South African he comes from a country that has experienced division and conflict but is seeking to build something new. He is coming here with a message of how God’s power is able to change lives and transform communities. Anyone who comes here with a message of hope for the future is to be welcomed.”  [Emphasis added]

Mr Guinness said: “In the Executive we are aiming to deliver a better future for all in society and this is as event where everyone should feel comfortable. I particularly welcome the participation of the Omagh – Waterford Peace Choir. Angus Buchan has talked of how he and many people in his country are praying for reconciliation among all people here, old and young and of all backgrounds. As we look to the future we can only welcome such a hope.”…….  [Emphasis added]

“What a wonderful people the Irish are, so open to receive God, the Prince of Peace.  That war that is taking place there is a religious war, it has nothing to do with Jesus The people responded like I have never experienced before.  The leader of the IRA was at the Saturday meeting.  We thank God that there was a photograph in the local newspaper of him and the First Minister, the leader of the Protestants, shaking hands with a picture of Faith Like Potatoes behind them, truly a miraculous happening.”  [Emphasis added]  — see full article here:  link has been remove from internet

Angus’ trip to Ireland once again was a mission of ‘reconciliation’.  And Angus Buchan views Roman Catholics to be Christians, all they needed was to hear the gospel spoken to them from a ‘grassroots’ level and that would awaken something inside them to hug their protestant neighbours.  The same applied to the Protestants.  They would hear Angus’ message and they would in turn accept Roman Catholicism.  Bravo – unity achieved, and that would in the end able them to move forward into a hope filled future.  Religions coming together to work together under one Christ, moving swiftly into a New World Order.

 width=Mary the Queen of Heaven

The Catholic ‘Mary’ is not the Mary of the Bible but a demonic Goddess incarnated throughout the ages, see here:  Mary Queen of Heaven – Whore of Babylon and she will unite Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Roman Catholicism in a One World Religion within a New World Order.

Did you know that this demonized ‘virgin‘ is mentioned no less than 34 times in the Koran?  Mary gives the Sura XIX its name and is its central figure as the mother of Jesus.

“Mary’s childhood, as seen through the Koran narration and Islamic tradition, is entirely a miracle. Mary grows under direct divine protection, she is nourished daily by angels (III, 32) and has visions of God every day. Everything contributes to making her and her Son a signum for mankind (V, 79; XXI, 91; XXIII, 50).”

See here for full article:  THE VIRGIN MARY IN THE KORAN

Did you know that Buddhists, Islamists and Hindus use prayer beads also know as Rosaries?

Prayer beads are used by members of various religious traditions such as Roman Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity, Anglicanism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Bahá’í Faith to count the repetitions of prayers, chants or devotions, such as the rosary of Virgin Mary in Christianity and dhikr (remembrance of God) in Islam.”    —http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prayer_beads

The spirit of antichrist works hard to delude the current apostate church and leaders in preparation for the arrival of The Antichrist, Satan’s goal is to seduce as many as possible out of the true Church into the false one.

This same antichrist spirit is hard at work throught the Ecumenical Movement, the Purpose Driven agenda, and the Emergent Church…

And yet these people are seen as modern day hero’s.

  2. Shocking isnt it. Hang on. I think I’ve said that before.

  3. Werner, did you get an email today saying that this article had been sent out? I am using a new program and there seem to be some glitches in the matrix.

  4. Robbie says:

Werner and in front I would put the NAR (as far as deception goes) There training facilities for “offices of prophets” are popping up everywhere. They have started a prayer group to get rid of all their critiques.

I got that mail Debs. I think it was on the 17th hole? – and No, my house is not on the golf course but close. AND I am on vacation.

I am going to send you mail on what happened the past month here Debs. It is a long story that proves indeed that Jesus did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Great to be in the middle of prophecy.

  5. Dave says:

The Church (believers in Christ Jesus) is the Body of Jesus Christ (1 Cor 12:12-26). Can anyone say that one body pert is more, or less, important than another? I praise God that He is sending someone to reach the lost and deceived. We, the Church, should remember that we are all one in Christ and should be reaching out to each other as opposed to judging one another

  6. Marion says:

Deb…I would like to know what happened to the Chuck Missler article with the comments?

  7. Marion says:

Facts are facts and stand on their own, and are verifiable. It was a well researched and documented piece, which I myself, confirmed by visiting the links and researching the people involved. Any grievance with a particular person does not alter truth. Truth stands. To sound the alarm for the safety of the flock was a valuable service you had provided with that piece. I’m saddened by your decision to pull it, but look forward to what you will put together.:)

  8. Werner says:

    Hi Debs,

Yes, I did receive your mail…two actually, probably one form the old system and one from the new.

Robbie: so true (NAR), all of them are connected!

God’s call may lead us to a season of difficulty and opposition from the enemy (Matthew 4:1). Trials do not indicate that we missed God or somehow lost our way. The very thing that God most desires to accomplish in us and through us is the very thing that the kingdom of darkness wants to oppose. We should not allow difficulties and discouragements to prevent us from obeying the call of God. If we obey and trust God’s call, the Lord will be glorified by our obedience and our faith will grow exponentially.

  10. Jeanette says:

Who made you God, Angus Buchan is a wonderful man of God, and we South Africans love him. He has a heart after God and it is terribly sad that people love to judge one another. I have myself heard him speak and he touches the hearts of thousands of people and the message he brings is down to earth changes lives. It is the heart that God sees.

  11. Jeanette

    >> I have myself heard him speak and he touches the hearts of thousands of people

Really? Angus Buchan TOUCHES THE HEARTS of all those people? Who made him God? You did 🙂

  12. Robbie says:

Not all South Africans fall for his “manifestations” Jeanette.
There are still good discerners. As for the rest… they just don’t get it…

But how dare you crash through the door with judgement and then accuse of the same?

“he changed lives”?… God uses the ignorant, even the wicked to fulfill His purpose.

  13. Jen says:

So much is being revealed – thank you for this article! It ties up with much other research.
The “we are one” theology a.k.a pantheism is also sugar coated.. as per the unification/reconciliation stuff.

Am going from feeling angry about those with blinkers on to actually feeling sorry for them. There are none so blind as those who will not see…(sorry for the humanistic quip there.. which reminds me – we are very affected by the Vaticans “humanism” – which is also ever so “altruistic”). False they are. Hope it’s not too late before people realise.

  14. Freddie Kleynhans says:

I’m very upset with Angus. Just like the “profits” Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland, he fell of the bus. The Roman CCatholic Church is the anti- christ. The woman (church) who rides the beast. It was the Roman Empire that had the a deadly wound (little horn) that got healed. The Black Pope, Adolfho Nicolhas, is the rules of the world through countless secret societies. Knights of Malta, Order of the Bath, council of 300 to name a few. It is possible that the implementation date of the NWO could be 25 March 2012. All previous wars were fought between Protestants and Catholics. The Word for tolled that the whole world will follow the beast and this beast is the Roman Catholic Church. It obvious that the white pope will be in the 7th heavem about this. But I will bow down to him. He who calls himself God. The papacy will not succeed in their cause as promised in the Word of God. All these things must come to pass. All prophecies must be forfilled. So, I’m quit exited about this , because I know that the Comming of our Lord Jeses Christ is at hand. Glory to God Almighty!. May His comming be 2 seconds away Amen

  16. Morne says:

are you sure you have interpreted Angus’s statement correctly, could he have not meant a reconciliation to Christ alone?

Col 1:19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
Col 1:20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

  17. Morne

Did Angus preach to the Catholics and tell them they were following a false Christ and needed to follow after the Jesus Christ of the Bible? No, he didn’t, he just re-reconciled them BACK TO ‘Christ’. And knowing that Angus Buchan follows Latter Rain Doctrine/Manifest Sons of God Doctrine (part of the New Apostolic Reformation) he is already following a FALSE CHRIST. 1 False Christ plus another False Christ is easy to reconcile.

  18. d and jm porteous

I don’t take donations or money of any kind – but thank you for the gesture.

  19. Mary says:

[deleted – You belong to the church of the False Prophet as spoken of in the book of Revelation, wake up]

  20. Martin Horan says:

The first thing that comes to mind on reading about Angus Buchan’s doctrines is his contempt of Jesus Christ’s own statements in Matt 7:13-14; Matt 10:34-39 & John 14:6–either that or his ignorance of them. One thing’s for certain: he is showing that he is not qualified to be a Christian teacher. Let’s face it, these are very basic and famous statements of the Saviour. Jude (3) also tells us that we are to contend for the faith once delivered–another famous Scripture of which Mr Buchan is ignorant or is deliberately ignoring.
I remember when the ecumenists were shocked that the present pope reiterated Unam Sanctum. I don’t know why these people were so shocked because it was never annulled by Vatican II, under Pope John XXIII. Such a ludicrous idea came to us via the wishful thinking of ecuminists, not from Catholics. Where did those people get the idea that an “infallible” decree could be annulled?
I wonder if Angus Buchan even knows what Unam Sanctum is. Or is this another Catholic anti-Christian dogma he is going to ignore?
As a former Catholic, I am often saddened by ecumenists’ ignorance of Catholic dogma–especially when the Vatican is quite open and even proud of their beliefs. You would think that before any Christian thought of getting into bed with the papacy that they’d first check out it’s beliefs (1 Thess 5:21 & 1 John 4:1).
Maybe those who are keen to swallow Mr Buchan’s teaching should themselves check out Catholic dogma. A little knowledge of the history of the Vatican–the Crusades, Inquisition, the Mediaeval and Renaissance popes &c.,–would waken them up.
One thing is certain. Angus Buchan needs our prayers.

  21. Rod says:

    Hi,

Please may I ask those who believe Catholics are the anti Christ to look deep into their hearts, be quiet, be still and request the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
I am Catholic. I can also tell you I am not nor is the Catholic Church the anti Christ. If people knew their history correctly and truly searched the journey of the Church, may peace be instilled into their souls.

One thing is for certain. We will all die. Please be very careful with yourselves before open comments are made. I feel some have twisted and sharp tongues and are actually fille with hatred.

And by the way. The day I gave Angus Buchan one big major hug put a tear in my eye. He is a good man, and may God bless him….Amen

  22. Louise says:

    Dear Rod,
Just one brief question. Have you ever read A Woman Rides The Beast by Dave Hunt.? If not get it and read it with an open mind. Only the Holy Spirit can and will show you the truth. I cannot send you pages and pages of bible notes and answers about Angus and the Catholic Church as its unproductive and it will make you angry, but what I call tell you is this that the church as we know it is going to turn out to be so rotten she herself will have the spirit of Anti Christ. Whether it be Catholic or any other denomination. Rod, don’t place man on a pedestal even if he gives you a tear in your eye. instead weep over your sin and embrace Jesus Christ through his word with all your heart and soul.

  25. Gert says:

    Dear people,
Angus is only preaching the truth that is written in the Bible. He gave all the glory to Jesus/God and he is only a farmer ,a simple man who God use today to tell the message to the world.Jesus died on the cross for our sins because of His love for us.God give each and everyone of us to make his/her own choice to accept His love and grace or not.It dosnt matter who you are or where you came from God loves you and want you to accept His love and grace and follow Him so that you can live the life that is ment for you on this earth. The gospel is about love for God and love for human kind. When your heart is filled with love then you will do to other people that you want them to do to you.a Man will be the Father of his household, the Mother will be the glue to keep the family together and there will be mutual love and respect because Jesus is living in there hearts and is the centre point of there lives. In todays life it is not the case anymore,That is why God is using Angus Buchan a simple man with Jesus love in his heart to come and remind the World of His love and grace for us and to show the world that God is still the same God,He didnt change.Angus may God blessed you in telling the truth.

  26. Gert

So after reading this article you believe that Catholics (PAGAN BABYLONIAN RELIGION) is Christian?

  27. K says:

I am an ex-Catholic. They worship idols (Virgin Mary and saints) and wear medals to protect themselves. Some wear a scapular with the “promise” of “whosoever dies wearing this scapular shall not suffer eternal fire.”. During certain “celebrations” Catholics parade statues of Mary through the streets (sometimes the statue will go from home to home to stay for a week each) and they have shrines for her all over the world (think Buddha, Shiva, etc).

“An idol is an image or other material object representing a deity to which religious worship is addressed or any person or thing regarded with admiration, adoration, or devotion”. – Wikipedia

When Pope John Paul II was shot, he cried out to Mary to save him, not Jesus or God. He devoted a lot to Mary – his papacy, words written on his robe – and he dedicated the entire world to “the Immaculate Heart of Mary”(after the assassination attempt on him).

It is written in the Bible that Joseph had relations with Mary after Yeshua was born, which means she did not remain a virgin all of her life. There is no where in the Bible that says she ascended into heaven after death. Mary is a holy woman, but she herself said that she needed a savior. There is a former nun who can tell you about the fallacies of the Catholic church (the people are being mislead): http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Roman%20Catholicism/mary_worship_a_study.htm

The Church states that “outside the church there is no salvation”. REALLY? The only salvation is through Yeshua/Jesus and we do not need to go to Mary to get to Christ. I have severe RA and a member of the Catholic church I attended told me to offer up my suffering to save souls in purgatory. Purgatory also is not mentioned in the Bible. Mexican Catholics and other cultures around the world celebrate Day of the Dead – the Bible clearly states that communication with the dead is a sin – Deuteronomy 18:10-12.

Catholics aren’t the only ones being mislead, of course – there are also Mormons, Scientologists, etc. Please pray to God to open your heart and eyes to the TRUTH and to make sure you have a good spiritual leader in your congregation. These are difficult times spiritually and we need to keep strong in the Word no matter what the rest of the world says. Obey Yeshua/Jesus. Not all who profess to be Christians will make it to Heaven.

Yeshua our Savior is a Rabbi and he taught in synagogues, celebrated Jewish holy days, taught Torah, ate Kosher foods, kept Shabbat (Saturday, not Sunday – the last day of the week is NOT Sunday).

There are so many church leaders that are afraid to offend people and are beginning to be lax about God’s Law/commandments and what He considers to be sin.

  28. K

    >> Yeshua our Savior is a Rabbi and he taught in synagogues, celebrated Jewish holy days, taught Torah, ate Kosher foods, kept Shabbat (Saturday, not Sunday – the last day of the week is NOT Sunday).

  29. Owen says:

I pray that eyes are opened.

This article is so misguided and so incorrect, the amount of ignorance amazes me.
I have a lot of time for Angus, in fact was at an event on Monday where Angus had the platform.

What stands out is the amount of ignorance and lack of historical knowledge as to how anyone critizes the Catholic Church knows anything about anything as to how The Faith came through the ages to people who now critize.

Wake up people, stop hating – and no I, as a Catholic do not worship idols – why are you ashamed of the cross – just as a cross is a symbol so is a statue. No one prays to a piece of concrete, utterly ridiculous, or do you not have a wooded cross as a symbole of Christianity.

    God bless misinformed people

    Blessings and Love

  30. Owen,

My dear friend, to warn others about the dangers of deception, especially in the Roman Catholic Church, is not hatred but true love. We don’t want to see you being led along the garden path to destruction.

The amount of ignorance and historical knowledge are indeed the problem but you don’t seem to think that you are the one who lacks this knowledge. Get hold of Dave Hunt’s book “A Woman Rides the Beast” and read it. It is one of the most accurately documented treatises on the RCC and it will give you the true picture of the historical background of Roman Catholicism.
