I feel the same way about this! While there appears to be many pros to this concept, in light of the fact that child abductions are definitely on the increase, this is NOT the way to go!
My gut instinct says this will not bode well in the future. Many inventions which were originally intended for use for the common good, are more often abused than not.
Case in point, the internet, though it does enable us to reach each other in an instant, and function quite effectively in research, commerce,etc...we all know that the uses of the internet are far more abused and misused for seedy and malicious purposes.
The risk that this idea of RFID tagging exposes children to, is not worth the small good that may be the intention.
