Jesus appears in Nigeria – AUGUST 2010

Jesus apparitionChrist’s apparition attracts thousands

The following article which describes an apparition of Jesus that supposedly took place in a Catholic church in Nigeria recently – Jesus warned that “false appearances” would be taking place as one of the signs of the last days.

(Matthew 24:23-26).KJV – Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Christ’s apparition attracts thousands

BENIN CITY- St Paul’s Catholic Church along Airport Road in Benin City, yesterday, turned into a mecca of sorts as people from all walks of life thronged the church to catch a glimpse of what has been literally described as an apparition of Jesus Christ.

The uncommon but holy phenomenon according to catholic faithful and enthusiasts present at the church premises, came up early Wednesday morning immediately after the offering of adoration at the church. It has however generated so much frenzy amongst catholic faithful and non-Catholics who jostled through the ever-busy Airport Road in the state capital to witness the rare spiritual occurrence.

According to Rev. Fr. John Edosomwan, a Catholic Priest in Edo State, the “apparition of Christ” to people serves to reinforce the faith of Christians in the presence of Christ while tending to reassure the present day followers of Christ that they should re-direct their steps to the faith as exemplified by Christ in the holy scriptures.

“The modern people have lost the presence of God, they have lost insight into the life of Christ and of his presence amongst us because we begin to pursue so many unnecessary things and that has made them far from God,” the Catholic Priest stated.

Rev. Fr. Edosomwan further stressed that the appearance of Christ on the Blessed Sacrament through the monstrance would help re-direct the lives of Christians whose faith have been ebbing out owning to varying challenges of life.

The “apparition of Christ” according to the Priest,” was to remind Christians that through His presence they can draw support and increase their faith in God.”

He pointed out that as Christians we must always appeal for the presence of God in our lives in order to transform our lives and those around us.

Similarly, the spiritual significance of the “apparition of Christ” at the St Paul’s Catholic Church was further described to connote the signs of the end of time by Prince Ken Ebosele, a committed catholic faithful who was present at the church to catch a glimpse of the “apparition”.

Prince Ebosele revealed that it was a reassurance of the fact that the salvation in Christ which Christians profess was not in vain, adding that the appearance of Christ was a manifestation of the presence of Christ in our lives.

Others who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the “apparition of Christ” at this critical period of human’s sinful existence was clear indication that no matter how neck-deep we are involved in sin, the Almighty God has special interest in the salvation of human beings.

They further stressed that the presence of Jesus Christ through the “apparition would strengthen the Christian faith amongst believers who were facing different adversities of life.

A member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Ikpoba Okha Constituency, Hon. Jude Ise-Idehen who was also in the Church described the occurrence as a re-affirmation that “Jesus Christ is real,” adding that, “this is the belief of Catholics and other Christians. It is our faith and belief.”

A woman, Mrs. Mary Omare, who disclosed that she is a member of the Church of God Mission and that she came from Warri to attend a programme in her denomination in Benin City, said she was passing by on a commercial motor-bike but out of curiosity she came to see what was actually happening in St Paul’s Catholic Church, Airport Road.

She confirmed that she saw Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament that was placed on the altar, stressing that “it is real and that with her coming to Jesus on the altar, all her hearts desires have been received by faith”.

Meanwhile, the miraculous appearance of Jesus Christ in Benin City yesterday have been described as a good Omen and an indication that better things are coming to Edo State.

The Director, Edo State Poverty Alleviation Agency, Chief (Mrs.) Evelyn Igbafe who stated this is a chat with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City yesterday, remarked that the appearance of Jesus Christ in the state was an affirmation that the present governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was God -sent.

Chief Igbafe pointed out that she was convinced that God Almighty has seen the good work Governor Oshiomole is doing in the state, adding, that this must have informed the miraculous appearance of Jesus Christ in the state capital.

The state Director of Poverty Alleviation Agency who said she personally went to St. Paul, Catholic Church along Airport Road in Benin City to see things for herself, remarked that she was amazed stressing that “it was a miracle.”

Chief Igbafe noted that she was marveled that Jesus Christ appeared along Airport Road where the governor was carrying out solid road construction project.

In her words, “the most wonderful part of it is that he appeared along Airport Road where the governor is constructing a very solid road with drainages.”

She noted that Oshiomhole is God sent to the state.

Apparition :Pilgrims Throng Benin * Faithful Await Vatican Delegate

Forty – Eight hours into the apparition of the Lord Jesus Christ at the St. Paul Catholic Church, Benin City, scores of Pilgrims from within Nigeria and overseas have continued to throng the scene even as Catholic authorities in Nigeria await a high powered delegation from Vatican City, Rome, the seat of the Catholic Church.

When WEEKEND OBSERVER visited the scene of the apparition yesterday, the church security authorities had herculian task controlling the high crowd that have besieged the church to worship, pray and seek healing and deliverance.

Interestingly, messages have also began to pour out as a result of the apparition. The messages revealed as at the time of filing this report yesterday, are that Christ says he was present with them.

Another message was that faithful should pour out their heart desires.

It was also passed to the Catholic and other Christian believers that he, Jesus Christ was in their presence to receive their petitions.

The messages are being revealed from different persons who were present in the church and partaking in the adoration and prayers sessions.

The appearance of Jesus Christ has turned St. Paul’s Catholic Church a place for holy pilgrimage where many people rushed to with awful curiousity and anxiety to experience the rare occurrence.

In reverence to the Lord Jesus Christ, prayers for Divine mercy and worship have continued in the church.

In its usual position on such holy and mysterious experience, the Catholic faithful are waiting for pronouncement from the leadership of the church.

However, this is not perceived as a means to dampening the faith and hope of the Catholic devotees.

Apparition. Why? Why would our Lord Jesus Christ encourage church goers by way of an apparition when He “does” speak to His own “every day” of their lives by way of His Spirit that He has freely given us?
It’s like that time that the catholic church sainted the virgins to whom Mary appeared and tears came out of her statue. What would very then do with the millions who hear God communicating directly to them every day?
Apparitions do occur – be careful not to be misguided.
I do not say that Jesus cannot appear to His followers if He wants to for He is Jesus and we are the followersand we don’t tell Him what to do. But if Jesus Himself has told us to be carefulof false Christs it follows that He would not go against what He Himself has commanded.
The situation would have to be dire and the resultant exact.
NO. My spirit is not comfortable with this.
It is more likely to be demonic powers at work setting the stage for their final effort of winning over the human race by way of religio/ political persuation.

What is called the “evangelical” church for the most part has bought into the religious form of political correctness which is basically ecumenism. This has been a staple of the mainline churches for a long time, but thanks to Chuck Colson and ECT, TBN, Pat Robertson, and many others who have enormous influence, the walls have for the most part come down and the Church is clueless about the false gospel of Rome. The Roman Catholic movie The Passion of the Christ further embedded the demonic seeds of Catholic doctrine. The Emergent Church was spawned out of this atmosphere and the Gospel watered down by Rick Warren and received by pastors and lay people world-wide has done much damage.

The following article is what has been happening and while for the most part many have been simply playing the fiddle while the church burns. Many are still holding onto the fantasy of a revival while ignoring the elephant of apostasy in the room.

    This article spells this out:

Under the radar of most observers a trend is emerging of evangelicals converting to Catholicism.

    http://www.religiondispatches.org/archive/atheologies/2731/evangelicals_%E2%80%98crossing_the_tiber%E2%80%99_to_catholicism/

The apparition of the false christ appeared in the Eucharistic wafer. How many realize that right in their own communities this piece of bread is being worshipped and that it is the plan of salvation for Catholics? There is even a site online where people can worship the wafer via computer!

Churches and Chapels that have Eucharistic Adoration in the U.S.

    http://www.therealpresence.org/chap_fr.htm

The Eucharist in the plan of salvation http://www.savior.org/eucharist/

Online live webcam in Kentucky for Eucharistic Adoration:

Here is a statement on a Eurcharistic site that should horrify believers:

Saying Goodnight – Our children have quickly adopted a routine of wanting to ’say goodnight to Jesus’ on-line. Before they go to bed, they will ask us to bring up the Blessed Sacrament online, then they will say their evening prayers and say ‘goodnight’ to Jesus as the last act before they climb into bed.

Can anyone name an evangelical leader who will take a stand for the true uncompromised gospel and expose the counterfeit christ of Catholicism? Is there anyone who has not chosen to walk the wide road of ecumenism?

    >> Is there anyone who has not chosen to walk the wide road of ecumenism?

Yes, there is. Those who choose to believe in Jesus and live by His Spirit that abides in them.
But this counterfeit christ is not limited to the catholic church – it is universal and charismatic in nature. And it is not limited to religion either, but is political and militant.

    I cannot agree with you.

The only way to determine whether an apparition is a “lying wonder” or a genuine message from God is to compare the apparition with Scripture. If the teachings that are attached to these apparitions are contrary to the Word of God, the apparitions themselves are then satanic in nature. A study of the teachings of Our Lady Fatima with its “Miracle of the Sun” is a good example.

Where is it ever mentioned that salvation is only through faith in Christ’s finished work on Calvary and that our works have no merit apart from Him (Ephesians 2:8-9)? Penance and making offerings for reparation of our sins are antithetical to Christ’s finished work on Calvary and of our need for salvation by grace alone through faith in Him alone. The calling upon Mary and her “Immaculate Heart” and the saying of the rosary as the ultimate and final means of saving souls flies in the face of such biblical truths as Acts 4:12 and 1 Timothy 2:5. “To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20).

BL yes it is so sad to see that truth is avoided and it is so much part of what we are told of in the Word and it will come to pass. Sad thing is the world is trying to stop that which Has to be. To preach repentance to the world was thrown out the front door.

These words of Jesus comes to mind.

    Luke 18:6-8 (Amplified Bible)
6 Then the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says! 7 And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He [a]defer them and [b]delay help on their behalf? 8 I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [[c]persistence in] faith on the earth?

  6. Burning Lamp says:

    AMI

Please name some names – I mean those who are in the public eye to set the example?

Yes, there are nondescript pastors and people who are still faithful – they make up the remnant.

I didn’t mean that the counterfeit Christ is only in Romanism, but that is what this thread is about – the apparitions of Catholicism. And it no doubt affects one of the greatest populations of people on the planet. It is worldwide. AND it is for the most part accepted or tolerated by evangelicals. I repeat the question – please give me some names. And please do not include John MacArthur and other Calvinists who are known for their resistance to Rome but have their own serious doctrinal issues. Because of that they cannot be considered serious critics.

As for the political and militant, these are not based on Christ or religion unless in a country where there is a particular religion that represents the government. The Dominionist Movement believes the answer is reforming government, but they are in error.
    Grace and peace to you!

  7. Burning Lamp, I stand totally against the ecumenical movement, Dominionism and one world religion, which is why I found your comments to Deborah [on the Missler thread] about my blog VERY ODD and you specified NOTHING.

    Please clarify:

    Thank you.

  8. One thing, Rome is infiltrating into the churches via the world evangelical movement, the Lausanne movement and unity between evangelicals. Follow the Lausanne Trail, it goes to Rome! Don’t think just the openly friendly to the Catholic church people are working on behalf of this false unity.

The name “Burning Lamp” is odd, how did you chose this? I ask because it reminds me of a UU Chalice and I know torches are another sign and symbol.

  9. The bible is clear that an EVIL generation seeks for a sign.

And well said AMi, He speaks to His own each and every single day by way of the Holy Spirit that abides in us.

This THING at this church is nothing but satan.

  10. Burning Lamp says:

Bible Believer, I suggested Debs check out your site – I didn’t state anything specifically because I didn’t want my opinions to influence her observations.

Since you asked for specifics, I will give some that that were troubling to me.

I found much to be in agreement with you on your site – it is a couple of the links you have that troubled me.

Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing seems to have an unbalanced fascination with the occult and certain symbolism. The site bashes Pre-Tribbers and promotes the Pre-Wrath false teaching of Marvin Rosenthal. Speaking of odd, there is a rather strange viewpoint of the apostasy.

Liberty to the Captives is also anti-pretrib, and bashes those who believe in dispensations.
Also, the site is KJV only – and bashes the NKJV, making outlandish conspiratorial accusations. The KJV onlyers are misguided in their belief that the KJV is the only accurate Bible. There are certain verses in the KJV that are rendered better in other versions, the KJV uses Easter, and the language is archaic. I am absolutely against the dynamic equivalancy and paraphrased Bibles.

You asked about the moniker I use. This shows your apparent belief that there is a demon under every bush and under every rock. I chose the name because I aim to keep my lamp burning for my Bridegroom and watching and waiting for Him. I want to keep plenty of the oil of the Holy Spirit so I will be a light for Him in this dark world. If you will notice, I have chosen the Word of God as my avatar/symbol.

    Grace and peace to you.

  11. Jemah says:

    Mat 25:31-32
    (31) When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
    (32) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

    and again

    Mat 24:24-27
    (24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
    (25) Behold, I have told you before.
    (26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
    (27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The Holy spirit is here to lead us personally until the appearence of our Lord Christ Jesus, if we know the truth lets use it with love to bring the lost to Christ,The deception in the “church today and yersterday” comes from people trying to follow someone else but Jesus, for someone out there is ringing it’s own bells of glorification and we are led like sheep to the slaughter for we like to believe in the bells and whistles and follow all that shines, sometimes I wonder, is this pondering on apostacy doing any good? for we know the truth and it has set us free to preach the GOOD NEWS! likewise let us focus on things above
    Rom 10:15
    (15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

    Gal 6:1-7
    (1) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
    (2) Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
    (3) For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
    (4) But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
    (5) For every man shall bear his own burden.
    (6) Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
    (7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

What and how are we going to do something today in order to bring the lost or ourselves to Christ?
I am not saying that we shouldn’t see things for what they are, for we should and we should expose them, but then we need a good and sound solution to help those who are been deceived to bring them out of the apostacy ( which is a long and hurtfull process- I know i’ve been there).
I just wanted to say, we know there is no solution to this except Christ, we know Satan is deceiving, we know we are surrounded by spirits and principalities, we know if it wasn’t for the Holy Spirit we would be in the dark ages, we know that God the Father knows our heart completely, so lets focus on Him and believe that we are working to bring the Good news to the lost, for we have a Hope and that Hope is Christ, so lets do it with love not focusing on evil- it’s so hard to explain… because it might sound like I am against exposing untruths , but I’m not.
    Php 4:4-8
    (4) Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
    (5) Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
    (6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
    (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
    (8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

If the spirit wants to speak to us he doesn’t care what bible you are reading, His truth will always but always be supreme in your heart no matter what translation, how can one compare the power of the Spirit, what does it feel like guys when the Holy Spirit tells you something? could you translate it? or is it just mind blowing that our God communicates with us, theres just no words or translation that can explain what your Spirit understands when The Holy Spirit Speaks.but I tell you what, I think I could liken it to the splitting of the Atom
    God bless!
    I’m aware it’s a discernment blog but I just had to say…….

  12. Burning Lamp says:

Jemah, yes, we must always speak the truth in love and never think more highly of ourselves than others – in other words with a humble heart.

That being said, the truth needs to be spoken clearly and firmly. Jesus didn’t mince words and neither did the Apostle Paul!

Yes, we need to focus on reaching the lost, BUT the Great Commission states that we not only share the Gospel, but that new converts are discipled in the faith.

Now I ask you – how can a weak, compromised Church filled with leaven be an effective witness in a dark world when it is hard to tell the difference from it and the world? That is where we are today. A watered-down gospel does not save anyone.

And I beg to differ with you about Bibles. For instance, there is a book posing as a bible called The Message. It is actually quite popular. It is a book straight from the pit – the Holy Spirit is not in that book. There are bibles out there that are more the words of man than the Word of God. There is no perfect translation and God can certainly use a less than perfect translation, but the paraphrases and the dynamic equivalency bibles cannot be trusted. We are to be careful about such things as it is the sacred Word of God.

A word of caution to you – we must be very careful about extra-biblical revelation. That is where many are deceived.

    Grace and peace to you!

  13. Burning Lamp says:

AMI, still waiting for some names…………..

  14. It seems you are judging by website by its links which is odd. So your main problem with Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing is the symbolism,m that is exposed. I will admit that website is a bit on the “conspiracy” end of things. Doesn’t this website expose a lot of the symbols and false occult things used? I don’t agree with the owner of that board on everything but believe he is on to something warning about PreTrib–no it is not a salvation issue [consider that just about every false evangelical teacher on the right side of the column here is Pre-Trib and ask yourself why]
I was Pre-Trib for a very long time, so do not judge others on this, it took me time and study, to have questions about which I talked about on that one blog entry. This website also warns of the new world order and those implications. I know some people can not handle websites or information, there is a lot of false disinformation out there, but why does the exposure of occult symbols bother you?

The person who wrote that blog, Ive talked to him on a message board, he like me does not think eschatological timings are a salvation issue. Where does he bash anyone? I get sick of so many on the internet claiming that those who disagree with a position of theirs are on the attack, if anything he wants the good people deceived by this Pre Trib stuff to be warned!

Liberty to the Captives too does not “bash” anyone. By the way, you keep speaking the language of “online change agents”, whether knowingly or not. This idea that those who hold an alternative opinion from yours are bashing, is Delphi 101. I know for a fact, that the person who runs that website, has love for all Christians including those who are Pre-Trib, which included me until recently.

She is also not KJV Only, she is not a Ruckmanite, like me she believes the KJV is the best English translation. Ive read NKJV and there are problems with it, they are minor in comparison to the NIV, but they are there. The modern churches including Missler, always are coming up with new Bibles. Missler on the ISV committee. This is an area Ive studied, and there are many infiltrated Bibles.I once had a NKJV 2000 Bible and it was so full of horrendous errors, I got rid of it.

    http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Bible/New%20King%20James%20Bible/nkjv-deadly.htm

I believe there are accurate BIbles in other languages so am not a KJV onlyist in that way. Do you know the difference between Textus Receptus and Vaticanus or how Hort and Wolcott added much false stuff to Bibles including scholars of today? Why should I accept the NKJV as “pure”?.

Odd that you tell me I believe there is a demon under every bush and under every rock. I know there is a cover story for everything, it is really an odd monkier, not one I’ve seen around ever. But then online Ive had a guy tell me Coracle is a Christian word. I hear all sorts of stories. I wonder if you chose the name from Genesis 15:17. I have dealt with many online that stand in the way of the watchmen, that coupled with your use of the word “bashing” for those who simply hold different positions from you, has put me on notice.

  15. Burning Lamp says:

BB, I have seen those balanced in discernment cross over into becoming overly involved in Satanic symbols, etc. It is not spiritually healthy to dwell on these things. The devil works in many different ways and not every symbol has a demonic attachment. Yes, we should avoid having such things in our possession, but we can’t control others. The heart of the matter is their heart and they need a Savior. Dwelling on outward manefestations gives glory to the powers of darkness. Yes, we are to expose the deeds of darkness, but we shouldn’t go around looking for them. I have seen people read into things that are not there.

An example is the name I chose as an identity. I clearly explained to you that the reason for it was pure and according to the Bible, but you couldn’t accept that or grant me grace.

The KJV bible has issues as I mentioned, but I do use it from time to time as I like the way some of the verses are expressed. I have used the NKJV consistently for a few years and have not found any serious problems with it. We can agree to disagree on that, but I wonder why the focus isn’t on paraphrases and dynamic equivalency rather than the NKJV translation.

You didn’t address my concern about the promotion of Marvin Rosenthals’ Pre-wrath Rapture position on the link. That is a damaging view – I have seen it confuse people and cause serious problems. You keep saying that eschatology is not a salvation issue – and again as I said I agree. However, it does have an impact on one’s Christian walk. And those who debunk the pretrib demean those who hold to that position as escapists, etc. You are entitled to your belief, but charity and grace need to be extended.

I have been into discernment for many years and have a burden for the truth and have been on the receiving end of rejection because of it. I know that the enemy works overtime to deceive us and we have to be so very careful. If we become offended when someone tries to exhort us, we may miss out on something the Lord wishes to convey to us.

As I said we have much that we can agree on and you do have a lot of good info on your site – my intention was to be of help, not to bash. Your questioning of my use of the word “bash” may have validity. Perhaps I meant it seemed rather harsh and had a sensationalist flavor rather than a balanced approach. You can either take or leave my comments. That is entirely up to you.But I am happy with my blog name and it may seem odd to you, but it has a biblical meaning to me. Grace and Peace.

    Grace and peace

  16. Jemah says:

Burning Lamp, yes I agree with what you say, and I agree that, there are some translations where the word of God has been compromised like say the catholic one, I do however still think that when one is searching for God with all their heart, God will find him.As far as the state of the “churches” today I also agree that we have to stop receiding back and call a spade a spade, for there is no use in bringing people towards salvation and then filling their head with rubbish, our brothers and sisters need to know the truth that is for sure, what I am really trying to say is that sometimes we focus too much on the deception and forget about all the wonderfull things God has in place for us, for some are stronger than others, some are for example I found that it was so hard to let go of the church i came out from and I was finding myself focusing only on them and what was going on there that at the end I was not healing and focusing properly on the Love and Joy to be found in Christ, so when I stepped back and realized what I was doing I found that the healing became faster, it’s really amazing how the deception works itself into your soul so deeply, that it becomes so hard to believe that the leaders and the whole system is so far embedded in apostacy.but yet it’s the way it is and only when you can take some time off and clearly spend some time with God can you see clearly whats going on.
Dont get me wrong I know this is war!and I’ll fight it with all the might my God gives me to fight it, but sometimes it’s good to have a breath of fresh air.
So, for naming names:Activity in September- having some visitors here in September to likes of Rodney Howard Brown, Steve Munzey etc , some real upholders of the works of deception what are we going to do to avoid thousands falling at their feet? what are we going to do about the mothers who bring theirsick children there, and when they dont get healed go home feeling that God obviously doesn’t love them enough or they dont have enough faith? what are we going to do about the thousands falling in the “river” what are we going to do about the poor bringing these great prophets their food and rent money? any suggestions?
    Hos 4:6
    (6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
What are we going to do with this knowledge we have, how are we going to apply it HOW ARE WE GOING TO TELL THEM AND WARN THEM! AND BRING THEM TO THE TRUE CHRIST, for times are imminent and the life of one only spans a few years.
    suggestions are truly welcome
    God Bless!

Yes you are correct. I found an expose done by Justin Peters and the errors he picked up is horrendous to say the least.

An excerpt posted of two of various verses Justin compared:

What follows is a comparison/contrast and analysis of several well –
known passages as found in major translations such as the KJV, NASB,
and NIV as well as these same passages as found in The Message
authored by Eugene Peterson. Any intellectually honest assessment of

compromises some of the fundamental doctrines of orthodox
    Christianity.

    The King James Version
    1 Now the Spirit speaketh
    expressly, that in the latter
    times some shall depart
    from the faith, giving heed
    to seducing spirits, and
    doctrines of devils

    The New International
    Version
    1 The Spirit clearly says
that in later times some will
    abandon the faith and
    follow deceiving spirits and
    things taught by demons.

    The Message
1 The Spirit makes it clear
that as time goes on, some
are going to give up on the
    faith and chase after
    demonic illusions put forth
    by professional liars.

Of the passages which I have cited in this letter, this is the least worrisome but is worrisome nonetheless. Paul
is clearly referring to demonic powers but note the unmistakable human spin which Peterson employs. He
diminishes the demonic powers by referring to them as mere “illusions” which are forwarded not by demons but
by “professional liars.” Such a reference could encapsulate a carnival barker.

    Matthew 5:5

    New American Standard
    Bible : 1995 Update
5 Blessed are the gentle, for
    they shall inherit the earth

    The King James
    Version
    5 Blessed are the
    meek, for they shall
    inherit the earth

    The New International
    Version
    5 Blessed are the meek,
    for they shall inherit the
    earth

    The Message
5 You are truly blessed when
you are content with just who
you are – no more, no less.

What?!? Not only does this not have anything to do with the passage at hand, it is stunningly un-biblical. What
if a homosexual is reading this? Should he be content with “just who he is?” What about an agnostic? A
Hindu? What about one who believes himself to be a “Christian” but is living in sin? This is not even true for a
Bible-believing, committed Christian! There should never be a time when we are “content with just who we
are!” This is a profoundly unbiblical statement.

    Pease read more here:

  18. Burning Lamp says:

Jemah, I share your anguish over those who are taken in by the false teachers. One of the problems is that so-called Christian leadership does not take a stand against the error or proactively guard against leaven creeping into their flocks.
One of the greatest misconceptions held by Christians is a misunderstanding of judging. God expects us to judge, but to do it humbly and righteously according to His Word and not our own opinion. So the baby has been thrown out with the bath and error runs unchecked because no one thinks they have a right to judge except for the discernment ministries such as this one. And those who do try to alert and warn are largely put down and told they are out of line. That Jemah is the solution, but it will not happen. That is the reality.

Yes, I agree with you that we need to take a breather and concentrate on positive things and our wonderful God and Savior and turn these things over to prayer and take our broken hearts to His throne and seek His will in our own lives as to how we can be effective witnesses for Him in this dark world. And seek out brothers and sisters who share our concerns and lift each other up. That is the answer. And if you find a pastor who stands for truth, encourage him and support him.

We are never going to solve the wrongs of this world. All we can do is reach out in our little corner of the world as God leads and be faithful to what God calls us to do. Stay in the Word and cling to the Rock of our Salvation. May the Lord comfort your heart and may you have peace in your own heart and life and may the Lord use you in ways your never thought He could use you to bless and reach others for Christ.

  19. Burning Lamp, God tells me where the line is, I have been forbidden to read books or some websites even for exposure and research purposes. [high level occult, satanic nephilim websites and others are one’s I’ve been warned away from]

If anything the church is lacking any discernment or warning about the total luciferian deception that is taking place. I have no qualms in pointing it out or showing. In fact this idea that Christians are to stay silent in the face of satanic evils, has been brainwashed and infused into Christians. Stay quiet, just go deal with “positive things”. This is more Norman Vincent Peale stuff, and American “positive thinking” ethos then the Christian biblical command for Christians to expose the works of darkness. Ephesians 5:11. I may do an blog entry about that, it would be an interesting topic. So what you end up with with all the suburban “positive thinkers” are watered down churches, of fluff, where if someone is dying of cancer, they would garnish more attention and care from some medical unbelievers because the so called Christians wouldn’t want to ‘deal with that negativity”

Do you know how many neo-evangelical types have told me to be silent, don’t talk about that one world religon stuff. Really why are you on this blog which concentrates on exposing things? To throw up stumbling blocks?

I’ll be frank, it wasnt just your name, that bothered me [and I admit I could have stretched that one a bit far] but the whole neo-evangelical taint to your words including the whole “how dare you bash” thing, which seems to be the script for any fundamentalist Bible believer out there, who dares to stand up against any evils.

I know I cannot control others, but letting people flounder out there with no warnings nothing, is dumb. Yes the Holy Spirit will warn but a bunch of silent Christians are good for nothing. I almost ended up in hell from the so called neo-evangelical types. They do insist that Christians be silent, this idea that the Holy Spirit will take care of, when GOd has commanded Christians to speak out and preach the gospel [with words] [Not that St. Francis of Assisi deception]

Also you are coming from the false easy belivisim angle that someone is born again and then there is nothing to worry about, that they cannot be deceived. That is not something I subscribe to. There are many out there who let the voice of the Holy Spirit be drowned out by false preachers, and false teachings. There is a reason for those warnings FOR CHRISTIANS in the Bible about deception you know, and Satan as the wolf seeking to devour.

Anyhow I don’t trust you Burning Lamp, I am new to this blog, and already I get the whole “script”. You are “horrible hater”, “You think there is a demon under every bush”, “You need to be quiet and not bother us with these negative things”. Where is your charity? You decided to throw the stumbling blocks from the get-go. There are many on the internet who claim to be Christians who are not. I do not know if you fit the category of someone who has been overly influenced by false teachers, or one who knows what they are doing. At this point who knows, all I know is I came here in good will, and already the “Script” about “Bashers” began immediately.

To be frank, I plan to respond to threads here still but I am no longer interested in debating with you. The Pretrib thing, God will show people and there are some things that are a progress. I believe there are many saved folks who believe it but havent seen through the whole thing yet, and rest, is fine.

The last thing I needed on this board was someone else with the “Be Quiet” message, the church has too many ‘weak’, silent, members who have been sheepdipped into a false silence, who are afraid to make a peep, unless they be deemed “too harsh”.

No more debate will be fruitful, I still plan to post responses here, but I am not interested in continuing to have to step over what I believe are your INTENTIONAL stumbling blocks.

  20. “All we can do is reach out in our little corner of the world as God leads and be faithful to what God calls us to do”

    So basically Burning Lamp you are against the main premise of this board. I meet enough folks who love to be in their “own little bubble” who have put NIMBY in practice.{not in my backyard}

Sorry, God does lead others to make better stewartship of their knowledge.

    Goodbye. {I will no longer be responding to your posts, if I must deal with something it will be in third person}

I pray that you are freed from your false teachers and come out of neo-evangelicalism or if you are here to deceive, that you repent.

  21. Jemah, you are right the last thing Christians need to do is recede back, but with a litany of deceivers telling them to be silent or only deal with what is in their back yards, this is what you have. Some think being Christian is about being as “nice” and “inoffensive” as much as possible. You see people who then become good for nothing as they become so superficial, full of “nice language usually about their own holiness” telling Christians to go be silent and meek and quiet in the face of evil but really not anyone you can count on when push comes to shove. Some may think me “too harsh’ on another poster, but I’ve been to this rodeo many times, and the “script” never changes. I asked myself Why is this guy even here, on a board that is warning about false teachers? The church too is full of the false message of easy believism, get them to say the sinner’s prayer, and then its all easy sailing so no warnings, no nothing, the new Christian doesnt need any discipleship nothing. I’ve seen people fall away from rubbish in the churches or getting hooked in by a false preacher. Some could argue they never were born again to begin with but it happens, and those who preach otherwise are naive or up to something. Yes it is important to balance things, spend time with God, prayer, reading your Bible. The fact remains people need warned. The wolves out there are working overtime to indoctrinate Christians as a whole to shut up. They also will abuse words like love, showing really none, they do not realize what true biblical love is, and that is warning people and showing them to a true relationship with Jesus Christ, saving them from the path of predition down to the antichrist.

  22. Jemah says:

Burning lamp, sadly I know this to be true, I know that only Christ will solve all the problems of the world in this I find my peace, and I will stand against error and judge if it needs be in the face of any adversity.
The anger i feel towards the schemes of these false prophets is duly justified

    this is how I feel
One hundred and fifty lives per second
    sold in the market
you can hear the cries in the emptiness
    souls lost in decaying street
    slaves of darkness
    children wandering in the desert
thirsting for something that they dont know
something that no one dares teach them about
Fathers and mothers minds captured in grey hazes
living hazy couloured fantasies where the only thing possible is to chase the next dream
yet inside each one there lies a seed of hope, dead in transgression
Black, black is the night and salvation nowhere to be found
    Prisoners of the beast
pestilence grows bigger, spreads wider, and gnaws at the creation
    the heart grows cold.
… life lies at the edge of the great divide.

    Salvation salvation
sold in the den of robbers
health an wealth for one hundred dollars
heaven, if you want it real, for just a bit more!
Pews eagerly ready to entertain with signs and wonders
those who think they know a bit more
Spirits of deception dancing in the isles
leading my people with arrogant babblings
Lies lie in wait passed on with unholy anointing
telling you softly what it pleases you to hear.

Count yourself blessed if you are struggling to understand
how come you have paid your dues, your rent money and your food money
but God still doesn’t come through
why is there still a great divide, between you and them that have it all and are holy
    Vanities vanities
where bling is a sign of redemption and
righteousness measured by the price of your car
    Spirituality sold in pages
prophets chasers of their own untruthfull imagination
apostles are worshipped and their house made bigger
while the children of my God are dying

Cages cages for the man who perishes
Temples of wanton for the man who searches
jails and entrapment for those leaning to the path of blessedness
Deception the mode of the day

    Confession confession
    repeat it every day
the promise is ours, come what may
the universe is bound to answer if we hold God to his word
is he a man that he should lie?

    All for us
US the righteous, the blessed, the rich, the prosperous
We the all powerfull whose words accomplish what we say and give us what we want
we who forget that God is not bound to the temple
and that He is not here to accomplish our will.
    Spirit spirit unholy spirit
descending uncompromised by our passive minds into the depths of our being
    not dividing soul from truth
for we are dead and cannot discern the truth
    so anything will do

    Wake up!
    Listen !
    the Lord is calling!
He is knocking at the door
    The Lord is King
    the Almighty warrior
When reality bites you should know its from the Lord
his almighty hand always ready to raise you.
Awaken you sluggards take to the plough
open your eyes and stare in wonder at the mighty mighty works of God
bend your knees and fall before him
and know that he is God!
do not go after what is pleasing
this world gives nothing easily to those that love the Lord
For His Saints are strong and mighty
and they tread fearlessly between the pews in the churches of the dead
    discerning life from death
The sword of the Lord comes forth from their mouths
and their hands give life to the casualties of the Holy war
    for so they are hated!
But the will of our God is all that counts in the end.

Who are we that we should boast
our places are prostate before the Lord
in confidence we wait for the promise,
knowing full well that all will be accomplished on his return.
Bow your head for the splendour of the Christ is awesome
who can stand the fierceness of his eyes or the anger of his wrath
PRAISING YOU MY LORD IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED.
    Awake you dreamer
take your cross and know that it is light
for the yoke of the Lord is not burdensome
better many years of earthly sorrows and an eternity of glory
than countless days as satan’s fool.

Remember there is only One word that stands upon the truth
One Holy spirit that inspires wisdom and blessess with understanding
Only one that teaches all things
Only One Holy and Mercifull God
and he can only be found if you search with all your heart
oh if you where either hot or cold!

When he comes like a thief in the night will you be ready?
    God Bless

  23. 1) What’s up with the name calling?

    2) Go read my articles on the RAPTURE here http://www.discerningtheworld.com/2010/01/06/the-rapture-an-article-to-knock-your-socks-off/ and here and READ the comments sections WELL before commenting. Not one single evangelical REALLY believes in the rapture today – they have tossed it out the window like you have.

    3) The KJV only thing must be the dumbest argument since the beginning of time. I am going to write a small paragraphed article that will refute the KJV only stupidity once and for all.

  24. I agree that ‘wolve in sheeps clothing’ does very much bash pre-tribbers. I was on there a month ago and the sarcasicm and nastiness towards those who believe in the rapture is very concerning.

  25. Burning Lamp says:

Jemah, I share your anger against the damage and harm that false teachers are doing whether it is the false “christ” of Roman Catholicism or the false teaching of the properity teachers or the kundalini spirit of the holy laughter people, or the false prophets who have a commanding presence on the airwaves through TBN/CBN, etc.or the legalism that keeps people in bondage or the cults that preach a false Gospel or the emergent church that guts biblical truth in order to “engage the culture” or the spirit of ecumenism that has invaded even fundamental churches through the dangling carrot of church growth at the cost of the truth. It grieves me to see pastors who formerly stood for truth drift from their moorings into murky waters. I haven’t begun to name them all – Everywhere we look there is false teaching afoot and we are in the midst of the Great Falling Away/Apostasy. None of this is a surprise to God. It should grieve us, but we have to come to terms with the calling God has put on us individually. We have to speak the truth in love and contend for the faith. But the greatest tool of the enemy is discouragement. Cling to the Bless Hope of the Pre-tribulation Rapture – keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Walk circumspectly and be separate from the world but love people enough to share Christ with them – be a light in a dark world. May the Lord bless you and guide you and don’t be a stranger on this blog where truth is defended.

  26. I don’t recall seeing anything “nasty” towards pre-tribbers on that website. I felt like he was more trying to warn them. Ive talked to that blog owner on message boards before, and I was Pretrib til very recently [was pondering Pre=Wrath for months before] and don’t feel like he considered it a salvation issue. What do you think is something nasty he said. Like be specific so I know where you all are coming from. I mean I was Pre Trib til only some time ago and did not feel offended and believe there are saved people who are.

I went to go read your article Deborah, Im not sure if I agree, but given my own forays, with Pre-Trib, this one I know is something Christians need to allow the Holy Spirit to teach them on.

This comment I wanted to point out. You wrote “After their departure at the rapture, the Antichrist will be able to take over the world unopposed.”

I believe like the poster of Wolves, that Christrians are not going to be saved from persecution from the antichrist.

I mean who is the antichrist going to be killing, if the Christians are “all gone”?

The idea that these are all later born again believers just doesnt jibe, if the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth, who will be born again?

What is Jesus warning about in Matthew 24:9-10

Revelation I believe makes clear that the antichrist will be making many martyrs of the saints.

This idea that Christians won’t be here, when antichrist is here, I don’t accept anymore. {I used to, so I can have charity for Pre-Trib believers, but hope and pray one day you can see what these verses warn of.

  27. Biblebeliever says:

I just don’t see where people are coming up with all these comments about “bashing”. I really wish that word could be removed from the vocabulary, seems any disagreement now is bashing.

The guy from Wolves has a pretty humble attitude, he EVEN admits he was PRETRIB.

    themurkynews.blogspot.com/2008/05/introduction-connecting-current-events.html

“In hindsight, I cannot understand how PreTrib has ever gotten any footing among Bible students. (And yet… I once believed so myself.)”

And he is right about this:

Please understand also the bottom line of PreTrib such as it is perceived by 90% (or more) of conservative church-goers: The huge and vast majority are hoping and believing they are going to be raptured….”before all the bad stuff happens”.

That IS the bottom line of modern-day mainstream PreTrib rapturism. The “raptured before all the bad stuff” is virtually an official aspect to this doctrine such as it is presented by a wide array of top PreTrib teachers and leaders.”

    Even the idea that the Antichrist won’t kill saints, is very odd to me, who are all those martyrs in heaven then? {yes some are from the past, but Revelation makes clear, Christians will be killed}

I just don’t see any of the bashing. Can you put up a sentence that you consider bashing so I can get where you are coming from?

Go and READ ALL the comments under both the articles on the rapture. Everything has been explained in detail.
