Second 8th Week – Christ appears in cloud at Mosselbay

Rosa Ellis from Second 8th Week took a photo using her cell phone while in Danabaai where she claims you can clearly see Christ holding a lamb in his arms. Rina Bekker says this is also a sign of the end times.

I did a Google Translate on the Rapport Article from Afrikaans to English below – Sorry if the translation is not great, I did a quick fix, it should suffice.

Is dit Christus in die Mosselbaai-wolke?  (English article below)

Hierna het me.

Jy sien ‘n engel in ‘n ligflits. Soms is hy so klein soos ‘n koppiespeld. Soms ‘n helder lig. Soms ‘n lang streep. Jy kan sien dit is bonatuurlik.”

Een NG predikant sê egter hy is skepties oor Second 8th Week se bedrywighede. Ds.

Is Christ in the Mosselbay clouds?

Johannes de Villiers

The world is in turmoil after a group of Southern Cape Christians believe the first signs of Christ’s coming in the clouds above Mossel Bay was noted.

Since the Mosselbay town newspaper, The Mossel Bay Advertiser last month published photos of a trumpet and Christ in the clouds floating (according to local congrecation Second 8th Week) they have had responses from as far away as Saudi Arabia and in Washington DC.

Apostle Rina Bekker of Second 8th Week believes the ball is on the role for the future.

Second 8th Week is a Christian movement with a strong apocalyptic slant. Bekker founded the first branch in South Africa a few years ago.  Besides the Bible, they also place great emphasis on the apocalyptic book of Enoch and the predictions of Siener van Rensburg. (Siener Bekker said, according to a worldwide revival will begin in Mossel Bay. “He saw the whole film from here to the Kalahari  and from there across the world.”)

One of the movement’s followers have been convinced in 2006 a series of photographs taken of something like a reddish trumpet above the South Cape sunset floats.

When the photos were published last month in The Mossel Bay Advertiser, it has provoked enormous interest.

After that Rosa Ellis sent the newspaper a photo taken in Danabaai that she took of clouds that seem to show Christ the Shepherd with a lamb in one blow of his arm.

This story has been followed up a few times by the Advertiser and since then we have had inquiries from England, America, Zimbabwe and elsewhere.  “I feel I need a PA to handle all the queries,” said Lucinda Ross, a reporter for the newspaper.

“People have already come to Mosselbay to see what will happen next,” said the apostle.

– A Woman of Groblersdal had informed us that the Lord said she should come to Mosselbay – she is currently packing all her belongings. ”

Second 8th Week is not related to any head church of some sort, says Bekker.  They believe God will in the end times harvest the Briden.

She said that members of her movement believe  in angels.  “We see it mainly in Mossel Bay. You see an angel in a split second. Sometimes he is as small as an eye of the kneedle.  Sometimes a bright light.  Sometimes a long line. You can see it is supernatural.”

An NG minister says he is skeptical about Second 8th Week’s activities. Sieg Louw, who recently lived in Mosselbay, believes that the group constantly bumps heads with the other churches in the town.

“It remains surprising to me that Second 8th Week said they attach great value to church unity, but in the same breath they say all other churches are false churches.”

“This is definitely not for me to say with whom God speaks and who does not. I’m quite skeptical about the interpretations of these photographs however. ”

I say no more.  When people read their bibles, I might decided to comment further.

sjoe….I don’t even know what to comment on this….funny I was reading Matt 24:26 last night and then this report. The “sign” is in Gods Word, the warning is in Gods Word. Wake up people!
    I am with you DTW….no further comments….

  2. Gerard Willemse says:

This is exactly the type of commotion that gets people to say, “Look Christ is over here or Christ is over there”, and Scripture is very clear that we must not go there whenever someone says this.

If people claim to be scripturally obedient and knowledgeable, why then do they still go against this commandment of Christ?

People please, do not be decieved!

  3. Gerard

Exactly. And if people read their Bibles they would know this. But they don’t. It’s sad.

  4. Elmarie A says:

My question is what next in beeld. When I read this I was just dumb. What gets me is that it is so typical of beeld to publish junk like this. But yes we need also to know about the deceipt going on in SA.

    This is so true.

  5. Elmarie

What next? Most probably become more and more new age in their reporting until finally they show a paparazzi photo of THE Christ with caption ‘The One is Here’.

  6. Elmarie A says:

    Yip

  7. mom4truth says:

    “The One” a.k.a Barack Obama

  8. mom4trtuh

We here work on Africa time, so America knows ‘The One’. News here travels a bit slower so our newspapers will only figure this out when he comes here for the FIFA world cup soccer in a few months time. Oh I am so excited. Not.

  9. mom4truth says:

LOL… We have newspaper articles upon articles literally dubbing him as “The One”. During the campaign, a news anchor said that Obama gave him a chill up his leg. Pictures of him with the crown of thorns or illuminated are normal. Around these parts he is considered Savior of the World. His popularity is waning, but the ungodly allegiance to this man stuns me. We’re all taking bets on him being the anti-christ. 😉

  10. Derek says:

It’s so refreshing to read comments from such a discerning group of people. It’s so uncommon to find Christians that actually consult the scriptures anymore.

  11. Yolandi says:

And Im also a bit skeptical ever hear about photoshop? Its easy to manupilate just about anything but Im in no doubt that Jesus is near photo or no photo!

  12. Yolandi says:

Id love to give you feedback on the Driscol event I have tickets for the 2day training at the Jubilee Church on the 9th and 10th

  13. LEANA says:

WAKE UP – READ MATHEW 16:3

PHOTOSHOP’S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!!! READ YOUR BIBLE!

  14. LEANA says:

    DEBORAH,

I’M SURE YOU WILL NOT BE LAUGHING WHEN CHRIST COME – YOU WILL PROBABLY BE BEGGING – BUT IT WILL BE TOO LATE!

  15. Leana

    1) No one said that Jesus is not coming again. He will rapture the church and He will return a 2nd time to JUDGE the world
    2) This photo is a LYING sign and wonder
    3) READ the whole of Matt 16 not just vs 3 in fact read the entire NT from beginning to end. The verse you quote does not substantiate that the visitation in the sky was Jesus because there will be many false signs and wonders and people will follow these signs. Jesus is very very clear as to when we will see Him again. And popping up over Mosselbay was not one of them.
    5) You follow Latter Rain teaching and are a dominionist, kingdom now follower.

And the guy still looks like he is holding a big fluffy cat.

  16. Leana

All righty then. Well this FALSE CHRIST still looks like he is holding a big fluffy cat.

  17. Elmarie A says:

    Leana

    >>I’M SURE YOU WILL NOT BE LAUGHING WHEN CHRIST COME – YOU WILL PROBABLY BE BEGGING – BUT IT WILL BE TOO LATE!<<

    Questions – Leana

1)Why are you spitting venom ?

    2)Will you join Joel's army ?

3)Do you have any love for your fellow Christians ?

You are being abusive. You do not know Deborah and are making your own decision that it will be too late. That decision is not for you to make. But again being a Latter rain, dominionist and kingdom now follower clears it up to me.

  18. CLIVE says:

Hi there. My 2 cents worth are that this photo is total nonsensical. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 that we must not go when the people say that Christ is here or the Christ is there. We must rather get into our bibles and not just make assumptions that it is the truth.

2 Tim 3:16 “All scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching the truth, repairing error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living.”

  19. Jean says:

In my home fellowships I used this to “test” them a bit and here are some “problems/comments” that was made by some members…

We now have a God that is not perfect any more… no, he is doing “practice runs” for the return of Jesus . . .
God is also “obeying” the “prophecies” of the fortune teller Kobus van Rensburg. . . .
    We also have a Woman “Apostle” leading a church . . .
People are getting word from “a God” to come to Mosselbay because THIS is where the “current action” is . . .

    2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but,having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;
2Ti 4:4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables. (the clouds…)

    The Bible states:
Mat 24:30 “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

This “Jesus” in the Mosselbay clouds wasn’t very powerful or glorious . . . He was blow away by the wind !!!! Wheeeee !!! Eisch, they don’t make them “gods” like they used to, any more…

Now, lets watch Angus Buchan . . . will he now try to better this at Mighty Men 2010 ?

As you can see, they really had “great” ideas about this… LOL 🙂

  20. Jean says:

    Hey Deborah
    Typo error
    >>God is also “obeying” the “prophecies” of the fortune teller Kobus van Rensburg. . . <<<
Should be: God is also “obeying” the “prophecies” of the fortune teller "Siener" van Rensburg . . . .

  21. Jean says:

Deborah, did you see the follow-up artikel ???

    Read the rest here:

  22. Jean

*crying from laugher* That’s the funniest typo ever.

  23. Oh my word, you got to be kidding.

Ok, I am actually going to post an article on this within next few hours. I have identified the unidentified flying object.

How do we find the english version of this article…

  24. Oh thank you for those verses I was going to post a whole list but didn’t get around to it.

  25. Elmarie A says:

Jean & Deborah (Discerning the World)

Me to lol lol lol bahaha.

  26. cecilia says:

This is precisely why people don’t believe “christians” are for real; and why the “real Christians” are the laughing stock of the world (and other religions) – because they are being measured by groups like these and RCs.
The Americans must have fun from this all! This group was started in America, Port Huron Michigan. they obviously knew how the Afrikaners have the tendency to distort something and run away with it… so they came here and started the same in Mosselbaai in Afrikaans.

  27. S. Dobbs says:

I think this is a bit desperate and lame although it may be of God. I do believe we are entering the end times tho and the real signs are there. If you are interested [EDITED: URL REMOVED] has some interesting end times prophecies on it and [EDITED: URL REMOVED] is also interesting as it watches out for deception which is predicted to increase before the end. As for clouds tho – well maybe but Im not so convinced by that picture the lamb looked more like a dove to me.

  28. S Dobs

You can’t be serious, you say you expose deception but yet you think this visitation of this Christ thing could be of God? I think you need to go read your Bible and stop trying to deceive people with your prophecy website.

  29. Hans Matthysen says:
