Riekert Botha’s Gospel: Who is Responsible for The Violence and Mayhem in South Africa? (Part 8)

Does Riekert Botha Preach the Gospel?

Riekert Botha

I have never heard Riekert Botha present the Gospel with biblical clarity. His use of the phrases, “on God’s side” and “bow the knee before or to God” to convey redemption and the gift of eternal life is foreign to Scripture. Neither John the Baptist nor Jesus Christ and his disciples, including Paul of Tarsus, ever preached, “Repent ye and bow the knee to God” or “Repent ye and come on God’s side” – NEVER!

The word “knee” appears six times in the Bible – once in the gospel of Genesis 41: 43 when Pharaoh appointed Joseph (an Old Testament type of Jesus) ruler over all the land of Egypt, and to ride in the second chariot which he had, commanding the people to bow the knee before Joseph; once in Isaiah 45: 23 where God swears that every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue confess that He is Jehovah God (the Jewish national name for God); once in Matthew 27: 29 when the Roman soldiers made a crown of thorns and put it on Christ’s head and a reed in his hand, and mockingly bowed their knees to Him saying, “Hail, King of the Jews.”;  once in Romans 11: 4 to recount how God kept 7000 men who had not bowed the knee to Baal during Israel’s captivity in Babylon, and the prophet Isaiah lamented that he was the only one who remained faithful to God; once in Romans 14: 11 which is a prophetic reminder of Isaiah 45: 23; and once in Philippians 2:10 which is also a prophetic reminder of Isaiah 45: 23.

The most interesting thing about Philippians 2:10 is that all the created intelligent beings – angels and saints in heaven, people living on the earth, and Satan, demons, and the lost in hell shall bow the knee before Jesus Christ, willingly or by force. Henceforth, it is impossible to use the phrase, “bow the knee to God” exclusively in a salvific or redemptive context – IMPOSSIBLE!

Neither does the phrase “on God’s side” ever once appear in God’s Word. It follows that Riekert Botha preaches another Gospel. Oh yea, he reverently talks about Jesus Christ in whom God the Father is well-pleased, and he believes in his death, resurrection, ascension into heaven, and his Second Advent to the earth, but so do the Roman Catholic Church, the Mormons, Pentecostals, Charismatics, the NAR, the WOF, and even Satan and his demons. Nonetheless, when it comes to how to be saved and receive eternal life, they are a cop-out. And this is precisely why Jesus said,

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:14).

In short, it means that Jesus plus something else, i.e., Jesus plus water baptism by immersion; Jesus plus speaking in tongues; Jesus plus indulgences; Jesus plus whatever else, is another Gospel and warrants the profoundly serious and weighty indictment in Galatians 1: 8-9.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9).

This is the only place in the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ where a verse (sentence) is repeated word for word to make sure that if you did not hear it the first time, you will have no excuse in the Day of Judgement because it is repeated a second time – word for word. Sadly, most people do not hear or want to hear, the reason being the following:

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

Most do, in fact, believe that they adhere to sound doctrine. However, they use biblical truths and doctrines like the death, resurrection, ascension, and Second Advent of Jesus as bait, and as soon as their followers have swallowed the bait hook, line, and sinker, they present to them a “Jesus-plus” Gospel that cannot save. But, then again, this was Satan’s modus operandi from the very beginning to destroy the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light; So it is not surprising if his servants also masquerade as ministers of righteousness. [But] their end will correspond with their deeds. (2 Corinthians 11: 14-15; Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).

Toward the end of his video (about 34 minutes into it), I began to see some glimmer of hope that Riekert Botha was, at last, going to present the unadulterated Gospel of God when he said,

“However, I can trust God to convince you about your own life before God.” Instead, he began to give a political slant to God’s power of conviction, when he said, “and that you will understand that God is not white, He is not Afrikaans, and He is not Xhosa, and He is not yellow, or a Japanese or a Chinese, or whatever other colour, and He is not bound by ethnic etiquettes, and social classifications we would so terribly want Him to be.”

What a strange and superfluous thing to say when he ought to know that Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to convince the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that his power of conviction has absolutely nothing to do with colour, ethnicity, class, or whatever. In fact, we already know that God is spirit (John 4:24), as he should know himself and, therefore, none of the things he mentioned can be applied to God the Father.

But, what about Jesus? If He is God, and surely, He is, dare we attribute colour, ethnicity, and nationality to Him? The bible is replete with passages where He calls the Jews his brethren after the flesh. In fact, He Himself affirmed that salvation was of the Jews (John 4: 22). In all Botha’s “God is nots” he stopped short of saying, “Jesus is not a Jew.” And this, dear reader, is the real reason why Riekert Botha targeted the Afrikaner as the only culprit to provoke God’s judgments on South Africa – because the Afrikaner nation thought she was God’s darling chosen people, in the same way, the idolatrous, wicked and hell-deserving Israelites had reasoned in the Old Testament.

In the end, one can clearly see that Riekert Botha, unconvincingly, tries the prove that God has completely and finally rejected his people, the Jews, and has transferred all their blessings and promises to the new Israel – all those who have bowed the knee before God and thus joined His side. In the process of deleting the nation of Israel, Botha has wiped the slate clean, rewritten the Gospel and completely eradicated the events that prophetically still need to be fulfilled after Christ’s Second Coming, that is, Christ’s glorious reign of peace on earth during the Millennium.

In his concluding prayer,

“I pray for mercy over our people and our country. Grant them the mercy to repent, Lord. Grant me the mercy to bow my heart and to keep it bowed, so that we may see the glory of God, in Jesus Name.”

Botha clearly expresses his Dominion-Now affiliation with pastors like Gielie Jordaan.  The Kingdom-now programme is not going to happen. Apart from the fact that precious few souls are being saved and will be saved during the end-times, according to Jesus’ own words in Matthew 7:14 and Paul’s statement in 2 Timothy 4:3, and 2 Timothy 2:3, the Afrikaner nation, like all the other nations, will not repent. Of course, there is nothing wrong in praying for your own national or ethnic group of people, and for America, and for Japan, and for China, and for Saudi Arabia, and for Nigeria and for little Malawi, etc., etc., etc.

In fact, the only time when the remnant of Israel and all the nations will see the glory of the Lord in his fulness will be at Christ’s Second Coming to the earth, and not before that, let alone in South Africa when the Afrikaner allegedly turns to God as a nation.  Only Peter, John and James saw the Millennium glory of the Lord in advance on Mount Horeb when He was transfigured and his face shone as the sun, and his raiment was as the light. (Matthew 17:2). It prefigured Christ’s unsurpassed glory in his coming kingdom on earth, a glory Riekert Botha denies because he believes nothing will happen on earth after Christ’s Second Coming.

Intercessor or prayer warriors, Prophetic Intercessors, Low Strategic Spiritual Warfare Intercessors, Prayer Walks, and Mapping, and the likes have taken the place of the plain preaching of the unadulterated Gospel of God. The younger generation, having heard it from the older generation like Billy Graham, Kathryn Kuhlman, and Aimee Semple McPherson are disseminating the sinner’s prayer to win souls for Christ, but are merely teaching their followers a form of positive confession, and then to send them out into the world to evangelize whole nations. This is not biblical. The gist of Matthew 28:19-20 is not to make every single individual of every nation a disciple of Jesus, but that their field of evangelization would be extended to the whole world, every nation, and not just Israel. All the nations needed to hear the Gospel, but only a few are going to be saved. (Matthew 7:13).

The main purpose of the spiritual warfare scene is to clean up the mess their forefathers have proliferated in their countries with their wizardry, shamanism, idol worship, and rebellion against God, and to reclaim territories for Christ and his dominion. In this way, the Seven Mountain prophecy will be fulfilled. Johnny Enlow wrote a book, entitled “The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution.” He writes:

God is preparing a spiritual tsunami to sweep the nations and reclaim our culture for Christ, says author Johnny Enlow. He describes seven culture-shaping areas of influence over each society—media, government, education, economy, family, religion, and celebration (arts and entertainment)—that are the keys to taking a nation for the kingdom of God. The purpose of this book is to draw the church’s attention to these areas; help each individual determine his or her specific assignment in this mission; and then to offer insight into the nature of the battles involved in this “spiritual tsunami,” as the author calls it.

Many Christians do not grasp that God’s favor for us to succeed is already upon us and is part of His end-time strategy to establish Jesus as Ruler of the Nations before His return. Readers will come to understand that this favor is divinely strategic and corresponds to the place of each person’s ministry assignment. Many have a spiritual poverty vision and poor eschatology, two factors that have robbed us of our blessing and caused us to fail to reclaim cultural influences for Christ.

The book is laid out to address these two misunderstandings, with the first several chapters specifically aimed at correcting lack of vision and misguided understanding of the end times. Each chapter that follows provides intensive, detailed study of each “mountain” of influence, how it will be taken and by whom, and what resistance will be encountered by individuals assigned to claim this mountain.

The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution by Johnny Enlow

This is a false revival, as most of them had been in all Charismatic and Pentecostal churches, and is preparing the way for Antichrist and his false peace treaty with Israel after the Pretribulation Rapture of all true believers.

Seven-Mountain-Strategy

So, as soon as these super-apostles and prophets, and their followers have conquered the Seven Mountains for Christ with their spiritual warfare paraphernalia, only then will He be able to return to possess the earth — the Kingdom they had prepared for Him.  Riekert Botha’s reminder that God is sick and tired of the reformed churches’ religiosity in South Africa, just as much as He was sick and tired of Israel’s corrupt religious system in the time of Judah, is but a small mote in the eye compared to the great beam in the eyes of the New Apostolic Reformation, the Word of Faith Movement, the Hebrew Roots Movement, the Pentecostal, and Charismatic movements, the Protestant/Roman Catholic Ecumenical Movement (supported by Oom Mike Smuts. Oom Angus Buchan, and especially the Mosaïek Kerk of Johan Geyser), and last but not least the anti-Semites in South Africa.

God says to them, “I am sick and tired of your ecumenical thrusts to foster a false love and unity between different heresies and other religions; I am sick and tired of your twisting the truths in my Word and thus leading many astray; I am sick and tired of you blowing the shofar, and think that by doing so you are getting my attention to act on your behalf; I am sick and tired of your false signs and wonders, miracles, your water baptisms, and speaking in tongues; I am sick and tired of your mockeries of my Pretribulation Rapture and my reign of peace on earth for a thousand years during the Millennium; I am sick and tired of your puny efforts to usher in my Kingdom on earth; I am sick and tired of your worship sessions accompanied by your deafening loud drumbeat music, and monotone-meditative-Buddhist-droning kind of singing (Mosaïek Kerk of Johan Geyser); I am sick and tired of your tickling your audiences’ ears instead of piercing their hearts unto salvation, and last but not least, I am sick and tired of your anti-Semitism;” Repent, before it is too late

I read on the news that some South African Christians were converting to Judaism and moving to Israel. What are your thoughts?

  2. Hi Manny. On our Facebook, we have posted in some detail why the Afrikaner is so pepped up by Judaism. The main reason is that many Afrikaners believe that they, by virtue of the oath Sarel Cilliers and the Boers made with God at Blood River, are part of Israel, and indeed Israelites. Angus Buchan was in deep trouble when he arranged a Mighty Men Conference some time ago mainly for the Afrikaans speaking community because, according to him, they and Israel are the only two nations who made a covenant with God. This is rank heresy. At any rate, the claim “Cleansed by the Torah” (the Law) is blasphemous and warrants a curse. As one of the emigrants to Israel said, “As we began searching for the truth, we understood that we needed to be cleansed and that that cleansing could only come from Torah.” Can you believe it? He was a Pentecostal pastor and never knew “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission.” (Hebrews 9:22). They are lost. Both he and his wife, unless they repent of their evil.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. (Galatians 3:10-11).

    This says it all:

“There was little to suggest that both the bride and groom had been born and raised as devout Christians.”

They may just as well have said, “There was little to suggest that both the bride and groom believed in the Jewish Messiah.”

  3. Manny says:

Thanks for your response Tom. It seems that’s what happens when people love Israel a little too much, they end up turning their backs on Christ. “If God’s chosen people don’t trust Jesus or the New Testament, then why should I?” I’ve seen it many times with those tangled up in Hebrew Roots, Kabbalah, etc.

  4. Hi Manny. I would like to suggest that you download Paul Wilkinson’s book “Understanding Christian Zionism.” It gives a good insight into the difference between Christian Zionism, Jewish Zionism, and Christian Palestinianism.

  5. Deborah (Discerning the World) says:

    Hi Manny

I have what one would call insider information regarding Hebrew Roots Christians attending Shul (Synagogue) with the aim of converting to Judaism for the simple reason they want to emigrate to Israel as ‘bonifide’ Jews.

The Rabbi is very confused about these ‘Christians’ in their Shul, because on the one hand they want to convert but on the other hand they keep ‘preaching’ to the Rabbi about Yeshua being the Son of God who died for our sins.

It would appear these ‘christians’ are diabolically confused as well. Willing to go through the process of converting to Judaism and renouncing their faith in Jesus who died on the cross for their sins, but at the same time are trying to convert the Rabbi to Christianity. :ohno:

  6. Manny says:

Tom, are you familiar with Gerald McDermott? He’s written books about Christian Zionism and he supports Israel, but apparently rejects dispensationalism.

  7. Thank you Manny for the info. The fact that there is an Old and a New Testament is sufficient to prove dispensationalism. It is called Law and Grace.

  8. Manny says:

I’ve read that many Jews don’t like dispensationalism because it teaches that Jews will suffer during the Great Tribulation while Christians watch from the comfort of Heaven.

  9. This is to make them envious (Romans 11:14)
