Have you ever left church feeling something was wrong and you just could not identify the problem? Dr. Rod Rosenbladt gives a lecture of the differences between Law and Gospel and how we are to keep them separate and what the purpose of each is. In short, if you get this wrong, you might not be a Christian after all. If your pastor gets this wrong, it might be time to leave before he drives you to despair or into the arms of the emergents. This is also an excellent resource to give to people who have rejected Christianity without understanding what it actually is. Very highly recommended.
The podcast is available at Fighting for the Faith, a program that dishes up a daily dose of Biblical discernment, the goal of which is to get you to think Biblically, to get you to think critically and to compare what people are saying in the Name of God to the Word of God.
Chris Rosebrough has recently listened to Jürgen Moltmann. Chris says at the beginning of the program:
The Emergent Church can be described in three ways right now. It is neo-Hegalian which basically means that it embraces a Hegalian worldview where contradictions synthesize into new realities. It is panentheistic, that God is in everything, but in a way that there is no distinction between Creator and creation. It is quite different from the Biblical doctrine of Christ’s omnipresence. And it is universalistic. Universal in the sense that somehow everybody is saved and the Gospel is good news for everybody, regardless of what religion you practice. You don’t need to repent and trust in Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. You can be a follower of God in the way of Buddha or Mohammed or whatever. McLaren, in A Generous Orthodoxy, says that there is wheat, not chaff, in other religions. [Chapter 17]

The Online Discernamentalist Mafia
… is 1 of 3 blogs by I. Todyaso or Iggy from WordofMouthMinistries
Iggy is on the leadership team at Billings Vineyard Church (Montana, United States). Iggy is also part of the Emergent Church and is bent on mocking born again Christians who adhere to the Word of God.
The subtitle of The Online Discernmentlist Mafia (ODM) is the following: “Protecting The Sovereign God and His Truth from those who are out to destroy the church. A SATIRE/PARODY blog.”
No surprises here really, because reducing the Bible and Jesus Christ into nothing more than a joke is what the false Christ/anti-Christ is all about. Iggy attacks many Discernment Ministries, I am not the only one.
This is the message on the front of the blog:
“Before you get all bent out of shape, please realize this is a satire site spoofing the so-called “discernment ministries” who deem themselves more worthy of Grace than the rest of us. So read and have fun! BTW, we are not against “good” discernment ministries that do actual real research and extend grace to others, only the bad ones.” …
Iggy and friends have had a go at many discernment ministries out there, like:
But at the end of the day we do need to say thank you to Iggy, because in his own vicious little way he helps expose himself and others.
These are the people that inspire Iggy as taken from his WordofMouthMinistries blog. I am not sure where Iggy receives most of his inspiration from to write with such hatred about the Word of God and born again Christians. It can’t be from everyone he has listed under the section ”People Who Inspire Me“ on his blog.
If you feel you don’t want to be an inspiration for Iggy in any way, please feel free to contact Iggy and ask him to remove you from his list on his WordofMouthMinistries blog. Then comment below and I will remove you from the list below or add a note next to your blog or website name.

How do you even respond to outright liars and… well… idiots?
I mean this as loving as I can… I mean she is what she is and I guess being a liar and… well… an idiot is fine with her… really it is sad someone claims Jesus and stoops to this worlds methods of trying to harm someone else… I introduce, Discerning the World…
Funny who she left out on my blog roll… but then if any even takes a minute to read her site and then interact with her… will come away knowing she is most probably mentally ill.
But I do thank her for the free promotion… I am sure anyone that goes to her site will check my sites out and see that she is in fact an idiot. Can’t turn down free advertising. Now, I know someone is out there thinking, “iggy you are not being very Graceful toward Deborah…”Well I am… After all she is trashing all my friends… as to why? Only that she hates me for some reason.
Deborah, hate is not a Christian virtue…
Pray for her… she really needs it. Yes, that is what we do for idiots… pray for them.. and love them in spite of the damage they do to themselves and others.

On the 13th July or there abouts. Iggy was loving enough to help contributed in a very graceful manner to a wordpress blog that was set up by one of his friend. They called the blog url discerningtheworld(3).wordpress… my blog name at the was discerningtheworld(2).wordpress… and I was the original owner of discerningtheworld.worpdress.com that I deleted last year 2008.
The person who signed up this url (with contributions and ideas from ‘friends’) took the same grey theme I use, took my author name Discerning the World and my baby elephant avatar to try replicate my blog. The ultimate goal of this scheme was for them to have a playground where they could throw hateful insults at me non stop.
This is a snapshot and quote from discerningtheworld3.wordpress – This is what Emergent thinkers think, these are the types of thoughts that run through their minds:

Thanks for dropping by! This is Discerning the World III, a site dedicated to truth and discerning things online (indeed, the entire world) which cannot be detected, and will not be detected, face to face. Why the number 3? Well, number one is too arrogant and we are anything but that. And it came to our attention during an intense discernment period that the number 2 is not fitting for any blog that claims to be genuinely Christian. Two is a number that reminds us of the followers going 2 by 2 into the ark. We refuse to be thought of as just another ass following suit. If anything we are leading the charge in the war against truth!
Therefore we decided our name would be Discerning the World THREE. Three is, after all, biblical. Noah had 3 sons (Shem, Ham and Japheth), Joseph had a dream of three baskets, Aaron was eighty-THREE and he and Moses spoke with Pharaoh, total darkness covered Egypt for 3 days in one of the plagues, women are to wait 33 days to be purified from their bleeding before they touch anything sacred, Balaam’s donkey complained of being beaten 3 times, King Saul had 3 sons, Samson ‘performed’ in front of 3 thousand Philistines in his final act, Job had 3 daughters, Peter disowned Jesus 3 times and of course, the greatest reason we find the number 3 to be more biblical than the number 2 is because of the 3 greatest things. But to know that you have to turn to 1 Corinthians 13:13 (more 3s!).”

Anyhow, I have so far received many awards from the Discernamentalist Mafia – I must be doing something right.

Nic Paton from (soundandsilence.wordpress.com) has this thing about being credited for his work, his thoughts, his beliefs. He has been making comments on my blog telling me that he can’t find Jesus in me or my writings/blog because I just don’t want to agree with his lying, trickster personality.
After I wrote my article: Born Again Christians are Now Compared to Inquisitors of the Inquisitions based on a post written by Steve (khanya.wordpress.com) who lovingly compared the teaching of the Word of God and those who preach the truth to Inquisitors of the Inqusition. My blog was bombarded with very very very angry Emergents who lambased me for disagreeing with Steve. See Emergent are allowed to make the most horrendus comments about born again Christians and Jesus Christ the Son of God but we are not allowed to disagree.
Nic Paton said to me:
“The way you are dealing with my comments, the absolute willful misinterpretation of my freely offered thoughts, the stubborn refusal to converse, your gleeful burning down of your own straw man arguments, the ongoing infantile sarcasm, the complete lack of credit given to anyone who you disgree with, your deeply flawed misunderstanding of philosophy and theology, and your rote bible bashing, is to me, a travesty of Christian witness.
I’m trying, Deborah, to find the God in all this, I’m trying to believe the best, but at the moment, I’m just not seeing the Jesus you boast about being so in love with in these words.” - 2009/06/26 at 3:06pm
Well Nic, besides the fact that we will never know when you are telling the truth. You are right about one thing and that is I will never agree with anything you have to say. But you are wrong on another because I sure will credit you for everything you have to say.
Nic ‘HOLY TRICKSTER’ Paton; WOLF in Sheeps Clothing and a TRAVESTY of a genuine Christian.

An Ecumenical Post Modern, Post Apartheid Missional Church
Since the Conference hosted by the Faculty of Theology at the University of Stellenbosch and Communitas from 18-20 May 2009 on the theme What can we learn from the book of Acts about being a Missional Church? the Book of Acts has suddenly become the new Magna Carta for the missional church in South Africa. Several questions ensue from the Dutch Reformed Churchs unexpected interest in Acts. If Acts is a trailblazer in regard to effective local and global missionary work, why has the church delayed its imperatives to study and implement what Jesus Christs apostles taught and practiced in Acts? What has motivated the DRC to embark at this late stage in the history of the church on a research programme that will work on seven themes in the Book of Acts over a period of three years? Are they aiming to reach the lost with the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ so that as many lost sinners as possible may be saved? Or, is she working toward the inauguration of the Kingdom of God on earth in which every conceivable religious ragtag and bob-tail is welcome? Why is the DRCs younger generation clergy obsessed with the ancient practices and experiential theology and disciplines of the so-called Desert Fathers, i.e. contemplative prayer, centering prayer, labyrinths, breath prayers, the silence, solitude etc., when these disciplines do not feature in the book of Acts? To find some answers to these questions it might be feasible to pay attention to the names of distinguished missiologists who keep on popping up in the ongoing discussions on the blogs of DRC pastors and students on the internet.

A name that seems to be on every Acts-orientated follower of Jesus lips is David Jacobus Bosch. He was a missiologist in South Africa who died in 1992 in a tragic car accident only a year after he published his monumental book, Transforming Mission. He formulated the concept of AC, the Alternate Community in South Africa which was born out of his strong aversion to the Apartheid system. In his book Mission and the Alternative Community, pp. 8-9. Bosch wrote:
The church has tremendous significance for society precisely because it [exists] as a uniquely separate community . . . . We have to work consistently for the renewal of the churchthe alternative communityand precisely in that way at the renewal of society. (Emphasis added)
