“As this is written, the 2009 conference is assembling to hear from Tony Blair. What’s wrong with this picture? Blair is one of the chief players on the globalistic, one-world religion agenda. The Tony Blair Faith Foundation screams “unity” with every sentence, and not biblical unity. Blair states, “God’s Spirit moves through us and the world at a pace that can never be constricted by any one religious paradigm. Be very wary of people who think theirs is the only way.”Members of his board include a Zen Buddhist, a Hindu from Minnesota, an Anglican, Rick Warren, a Rabbi, and others. A goal is to “heal the divisiveness in the world.” This feeds into the end-time ecumenical effort predicted in the Bible. Just as troubling is the appearance of rock star Bono. His U2 band was blatantly Satanic. Thanks to Good Fight Ministries, you can go to this link and type in the word Bono or U2. Bono is seen holding an upside down cross and singing praises to Charles Manson with the song Helter Skelter. Did Bono have a conversion experience? If he did, he has not changed the name of his music affiliation, which remains U2 from the days of blatant Satanism.” ♦

“ Obama said his breakfast for Christian clergy was part of a broader effort to welcome all faiths to the White House that had included a celebratory dinner to mark the end of the Muslim fast of Ramadan and a sedar as a part of Jews’ commemoration of Passover. The President, speaking from notes, spoke in personal terms about the inspiration he drew from the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, recalling the scorn and derision heaped upon Jesus en route to his crucifixion, the “torture” of his death by the Roman Empire and the “agony of his crucifixion.” Obama said that he drew particular inspiration “that speaks to me” from Christ’s final moments on the cross when Jesus “summoned what remained of his strength” to say, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

“A couple weeks ago, John Piper announced that he had invited Rick Warren to speak at the Desiring God conference this fall. His announcement caused an uproar in some parts of the Reformed blogosphere. Some even questioned Piper’s commitment to the gospel, wondering out loud if he is a “wolf” in sheep’s clothing. The debate over Piper’s choice of Warren reminds me of my days in an independent Baptist school. In fundamentalist circles, it’s not enough to separate from those who disagree with you (even on minor issues, like the style of music in church or which Bible translation you use). You have to go the extra mile and separate from those who refuse to separate. It’s called “second-degree separation.” For example, someone who is convinced that all Catholics are apostate would not only withhold fellowship from Catholics, but would also withhold fellowship from people who fellowship with Catholics.Copy and pasge quoted text from the article here (+/- 2 to 3 sentences).” ♦ –John Piper with Rick Warren: Compromise? –

“GDOP London calls every Christian in the UK to prayer
As a precursor to a National Day of Prayer at London’s West Ham Stadium on 13th June 2010, GDOP London is calling every church and Christian in the UK to a season of prayer and fasting for the nation. As the country moves closer to a historic chairos moment with the British general elections taking place May 6, GDOP London convener Jonathan Oloyede is urging the church to rise up prophetically and perform her duty as ‘kingmaker,’ reports Peter Wooding, special to ASSIST News Service.“Every church, ward, borough or district should take responsibility in prayerfully deciding who is elected locally into public office. Churches need to hold vigils, conduct special prayer services and urge their congregants to do a little bit more towards the election which is a divine selection. If we pray then as our Lord taught us, God’s will shall be done in Brighton, Hereford, Luton, York and everywhere,” explains Dr Oloyede.” ♦ –GDOP London calls every Christian in the UK to prayer –

ooooooh my word this is a huge thing please read further here
but don’t join in this day unless you are going to observe only. Pray that the holy spirit lead you. I have all ready given info about the Capetown GDOP 2010 and how the carpet is being weaved. I suggest we all stay home and pray on that day, for God to help those who will be further deceived by these people. I believe and trust that a true discerning christian will understand my view point.

“But this is what is characterising the election campaign – the politicians dancing round the edges of the big issues, making marginal adjustments to marginal policies. That they then expect us to get excited about them is, frankly, an insult to our intelligence.” ♦ –Indifference compounded by derision–

“This blog and a few more have made the point. And latterly, the politicians have been compared with drunks in a karaoke competition. Now, it’s Booker’s turn to point out, in his column the simple fact that none of the politicos and their claquers want to admit, that this election is a painfully empty charade..” ♦ –A painfully empty charade–

“This is from a man who is content for the UK to remain an active member of the European Union – our supreme government which makes most of our laws – a man who refuses to offer the nation a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, and a man who would have us bound hand and foot by an international treaty on climate change, made under the auspices of the United Nations.” ♦ –A surreal election–

“What you will not find in today’s Conservative Party manifesto: But the tragic truth today is that no matter how much we strengthen Parliament or hold government to account, there will still be forces at work in our country that are completely unaccountable to the people of Britain. “I am 100% in favour of people who inspire men, women and children to seek the Lord with all their heart but I am not in favour of the ways and means some have adopted to seek the Lord that are not in tune with the Word of God. I must admit at first I didn’t know what to think of Angus Buchan’s YouTube video series “Seek the Lord” which he delivered in the wake of the terrible murder on Eugene Terreblanche and the subsequent threats of revenge. “On the third anniversary of the Virginia Tech massacre, a pastor dares to ask the question most Christians would rather avoid: Should we fire God?“God had a choice when he created us,” Pace said in an interview with The Christian Post. “He could restrain every poor decision or wrong we do, but in doing so we become less real and human.”The Virginia pastor stressed, “We need to try to understand where God is coming from.”The book was released in April and includes a forward written by Rick Warren.” ♦ –Virginia Tech Pastor: Should We Fire God?Virginia Tech Pastor: Should We Fire God? –

“Should We Fire God? We live in a broken world. Because of that, we’ve all been brought to our knees by tragedies. What do you do when you’re struggling with overwhelming circumstances and emotions? How should you respond when your faith is tested and God seems absent or in no hurry to act?In this book, Jim Pace offers helpful insights on the age-old question of God’s role in human pain. Jim shares from his own personal battle in understanding God’s faithfulness in the midst of pain, as well as dealing with the issues raised after the tragic shooting at his alma mater, Virginia Tech. Many of his congregation attended there during the shooting.Jim shows how the Bible answers these kinds of situations. The answers are clear, he says, but they are often not what we expect or desire. The fact is, no one is immune to pain or insulated from suffering. But God is there to provide real comfort and hope no matter what we face in this life. He uses even tragedy for our growth and his glory, when we give him all the pieces. While God may seem absent, He is never really gone. While He sometimes seems silent, He is always speaking His love for us. While he sometimes fails to do what we think He should, He is always actively engaged in our problems, wanting to draw us closer to Him. In pain, we learn things about God that we will not learn any other way.Rick Warren.Saddleback Church. The Purpose Driven Life.” ♦ –Should We Fire God? Book Cover –

“Modern Christians are in as much danger as modern Jews. Our liberal neighbors, with their feel-good, made-up Christianity are destroying our religion and our communities. Liberal church leaders support issues ranging from comprehensive immigration reform to same sex marriage. Atheists, who have nonetheless constructed their own religion, now have their prophets. “”Speaking first for myself, I admire Rick Warren’s zeal for reaching non-Christians and concern for global challenges,” wrote Horton, systematic theology and apologetics professor at Westminster Seminary California. “I respect him for giving away much of his income for charitable purposes. At the same time, I believe that his message distorts the gospel and that he is contributing to the human-centered pragmatism that is eroding the proper ministry and mission of the church.Judging by The Purpose-Driven Life, Pastor Warren’s theology seems to reflect run-of-the-mill evangelical Arminianism, especially with its emphasis on the new birth as the result of human decision and cooperation with grace. There are also heavy traces of Keswick ‘higher life’ teaching throughout the book. None of this disqualifies him from being an evangelical statesman. After all, much the same can be said of Billy Graham.”.” ♦ –Piper, Warren, and the Perils of Movement Building Why the debate over separatism still matters.

No, it is not the same event.

This May Day Prayer is nothing more than another misguided dominionistic ploy. When will the church “get it”? Stick to
sharing the Gospel, discipling new converts, defending the faith, praying in ones’ closet and reading the Word. But it is much more attractive to the flesh to join a mass or shall we say mess of ecumenical porridge that will accomplish nothing more than give participants a “feel good” counterfeit for the joy of the Holy Spirit. There is nothing holy about this event and the Holy Spirit is not present in empowerment.

    I figured it out thanks.

    May Day 2010
    When: Sat., May 1, 2010 – From Sunrise (6:10 A.M.) to 2:00 P.M.
Where: The Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.

Join with Christian leaders of all denominations who love God to humble ourselves, pray, seek the face of God, and turn from our wicked ways—individually and as a nation.

This event is not to impress the media or those in Washington, but to reach the heart of God. Publicly repenting and crying out to God for His mercy instead of the judgment our many sins deserve. Repentance in personal and corporate prayer to God and remembrance of His work throughout our nation’s history will be major parts of the day as we seek God to do a great work of revival or reformation in our time. The tentative plan is to begin the day with an hour of worship and praise.

    and

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

In accordance with Biblical truth, the National Day of Prayer Task Force seeks to:

    * Foster unity within the Christian Church
    * Protect America’s Constitutional Freedoms to gather, worship, pray and speak freely.
    * Publicize and preserve America’s Christian heritage
    * Encourage and emphasize prayer, regardless of current issues and positions
    * Respect all people, regardless of denomination or creed
    * Be wise stewards of God’s resources and provision
    * Glorify the Lord in word and deed

Yes as you say, that is how I see it too. I was just confused by the two days and thought it is one and the same event. Now I now it is not. The May day is May 1, 2010 and The National Day of Prayer is 5 May, 2010.

This May Day event is connected to the GDOP because the prayer leaders of the May Day event are interconnected with the same leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation that brought us the GDOP. The Official Program indicates that the May Day schedule at 9 A.M. launches prayers of “Repentance for the Mountain of Religion” and for the “The Church,” given by Dutch Sheets, Chuck Pierce and Cindy Jacobs, among others. These false “apostles” are connected with C. Peter Wagner and his International Coalition of Apostles, who believe they have a Dominion mandate on earth.

Folks, wake up! These people are the self-appointed, self-anointed “apostles” – global leaders of an aberrant cult called Latter Rain, which they renamed the New Apostolic Reformation.[9] These are the same “prophets” that brought you the Toronto and Pensacola drunken-laughing revivals where people barked like dogs, writhed in birthing pains, and worse.[10] This is the same crowd that brought us Todd Bentley in Lakeland, Florida, now disgraced by flagrant sins, whom they are still trying to spiff up.[11] These are the same leaders who propped up Ted Haggard. Worse, these are the same NAR “apostles” who are trying to create a “Joel’s Army.” Follow the links in this article and the two previous Herescope posts on this topic! And then ask, are these the type of “respectable leaders” we want praying prayers of repentance on behalf of the American church!?

Yes and yes I agree wholeheartedly with you. It is just sad, sad how busy these people are, all in prep for the One World religion. But it is foreordained in His Word.

It is just so sad that I have dear family and friends close to me who are lost in this blindness and one can only warn and admonish , then stop and leave them in God’s hands and pray for them.

The verse that is so often quoted that says MY people who are called by my Name – that means true born again believers.

True true words. The fact is in the world there are unbelievers who never accept Jesus as their savior And then there are those who have had false conversions. I’m just thinking that those false conversions are so so many who are deceived. When one admonish them the first words they will always say, is that one is judging them. It is so difficult to deal with them. whereas a person who is a unbeliever will just ignore the calling of Jesus till one day if it is God’s will they will open their hearts.

  • Burning Lamp

Elmarie, yes for instance the May 1st event. They say they are praying in Jesus’ name. And they have two Jewish rabbis on the committee? Have they gone daft?

Also, the Kingdom Now and Dominionist/Apostolic participation makes every stranger bedfellows. One ministry has a doctrinal statement that is right on except for one thing. It skips the Rapture and goes right to Christ’s 2nd coming. Some would say this is a nonessential. I used to agree, but when I see how that position twists doctrine like a pretzel I would now have to say that one’s eschatological viewpoint is a major factor.

Yes I agree and it is a terrible state of affairs. But would you agree that we are nearing the end of the church
dispensation, and it is moving at the speed of lightning.

The way I grew up never ever taught me that as individuals we are the actual church and that is so sad. Just about my whole generation now in their 40′s/50′s have been deceived so badly.

I grew up in the Dutch Reformed Church in SA up to the age of 18years. They used a Calvinistic/Israel vision mixture of doctrines they adopted and adapted, the indoctrination that took place was huge on the Afrikaans speaking nation. I must also mention that I now see the DRC has also succumbed to the Kingdom Now and Dominionist/Apostolic participation mixed in with new age believes. In fact the DRC has pretty much died a silent death in the last 10 years or so.

When you talk about twisting doctrines like pretzels I can just so clearly understand what you are saying.

Absolutely with vigor!!! You have had an amazing journey from darkness to light. Praise God for His working in your life and your response!!

Calvinism in the U.S. is alive and well and spreading through various prominent teachers. There is such an ignorance in the Church as to the errors. What astounds me is that many if not the majority of the discernment ministries are run by Calvinists and the others interchange with them with no apparent realization of the error. Every false teaching other than that is exposed but Calvinism is overlooked or ignored! Only exception that comes to mind is Dave Hunt.
