Regarding understanding the Bible there is ONLY ONE who can help you with this and that is Jesus Christ. When you are saved, born again, the Holy Spirit will come to abide in you. He, the Holy Spirit is the one who gives you ALL understanding of scripture. That is why Joyce and Chuck can read the bible (they can read you know) but will NEVER understand scripture – because the ONE who councils us, leads us, gives us understanding, does not abide in these people. Before you delete my comments, please tell me who is teaching the rightly divided Word of God today? Does any one meet with your approval? I like your advice to read the Bible but people still need help with their understanding.

I don’t follow Chuck Missler or Joyce Meyer. As a born again Christian who has been blessed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit, I can discern spirits, but I still owe a great deal of gratitude to those countless men and women who have dedicated their lives to studying and teaching God’s Word, even if they are not perfect in their understanding.

My objection is that in your “zeal” you misrepresent facts and make false accusations. That is by definition false witness and slander.

You crusade against deception, but in doing so you are also being deceived and deceiving others. The fact that you focus on trivial points, ignore my questions, fixate on my name and insult me just because I questioned incongruities in your accusations against Chuck Missler speaks volumes.

Did it ever occur to you that you are under the influence an accusing spirit, finding fault with others and are yourself being deceived into believing that you are right with God just because of your doctrine? That is pride, and pride is not what pleases God.

It also negates the fact that our salvation is based on our faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God because He paid the price for our salvation, when He was crucified, died and was raised from the dead to sit at the Right Hand of the Father, and will come again in Glory in reign forever.

There is much apostasy in the world. That is unfortunately not exactly new. We were warned of wolves coming in by Peter and Paul. That was in the first century. Your site raises real concerns, but Jesus is still Lord.

ElMarie, sad but true. I just wanted to hopefully enlighten this person as to the purpose for discernment. Something brought him/her to this site and maybe, just maybe they might take away something to chew on. Call me an eternal optomist! :-)

It is the loving thing to do to expose error and often it requires exposing the teaching of favored and popular teachers. No one is judging the hearts, only examining the fruit to see if it is edible or rotten. If someone was eating rotten fruit would you not feel compelled to warn them as it would make them sick?

That will be a difficult point to understand for people like Spliff512. He seems to be very anti discernment and warning people about apostasy. If one can support some one like Joyce Meyer and think they preach the truth the situation is indeed dire. We can only pray the scales fall of these peoples eyes before it is too late.

Spliff, the Bible is our “lock on the truth”. It is the measure, and no one here thinks they know everything. It is the Word of God that is the measure of what is truth and what is error.

Your comments are typical of those who like to call those who expose error Pharisees. You should study your Bible and see just who the Pharisees were before you start labeling the people here.

I was puzzled by your comment that Jesus “invariably” (doesn’t that mean almost always?) began His teachings with the word repent. I have a Bible where Jesus’s Words are marked in red, but I can’t find even one teaching that He began using the word repent. Are you confusing Jesus with John the Baptist?

What I do read in the Words of Jesus is a complete disdain for those thought they had a lock on the truth and were so secure in their self righteous religious beliefs that they felt justified in scornfully judging others from their assumed position of superiority.

The Pharisee’s were nothing to make light of when it came to following what was apparently God’s Will as it was written. They were heavy duty doers of the Law. Practically perfect. Practically.

Of course, the point is that it wasn’t enough. We still need Jesus to pay the price for man’s fall, in order for the Love of God to be shed abroad in our hearts. That Love is one thing the Pharisees were short on.

Their “religious” convictions prevented them from seeing the error of their thinking and the hardness of their heart. They felt righteous and justified as God’s chosen. They were also the very ones who did not repent, and who openly rejected Jesus.

Blindness to the truth is an inevitable by-product of assuming one already knows everything.

May I say too that I like your sense of irony, or sarcasm if you will. Although most ‘Christians’ today wouldn’t agree, I can find plenty of Biblical accounts of men of God and God Himself using the same ‘tone’, when speaking against foolishness. OH No! Now I’ve gone and used hate speech!
Oh well, you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs, as they say.
