If I may chime in on the topic of 7th Day Adventism - often the Sabbath keeping is considered a requirement for salvation and those who worship on Sunday are considered to be apostates. This is my understanding of most Adventists. Also, there are the dietary requirements. They follow a false prophet, Ellen G. White. I do not believe that one can be a true believer and be a devotee of Adventism. The main reason being that it is a false Gospel, a gospel of works. They are under the Law, the Sabbath commandment and hold to dietary restrictions. Also, the eschatology is goofy although that is not the main issue.

There may be various degrees of Adventism, but my research and personal experience bears out the fact that the above are common beliefs held by Adventists.

The issue of soul sleep is also of consideration. There are too many factors to call this an orthodox Christian group, the most important being a false gospel.
Sorry if this offends, as there are many good and sincere folks in this religion, but they are under bondage.

"What does the Bible say about soul sleep?"

Answer: “Soul sleep” is a belief that after a person dies, his/her soul “sleeps” until the resurrection and final judgment. The concept of “soul sleep” is not biblical. When the Bible describes a person “sleeping” in relation to death (Luke 8:52; 1 Corinthians 15:6), it does not mean literal sleep. Sleeping is just a way to describe death because a dead body appears to be asleep. The moment we die, we face the judgment of God (Hebrews 9:27). For believers, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). For unbelievers, death means everlasting punishment in hell (Luke 16:22-23).

Until the final resurrection, though, there is a temporary heaven—paradise (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 12:4) and a temporary hell—Hades (Revelation 1:18; 20:13-14). As can be clearly seen in Luke 16:19-31, neither in paradise nor in Hades are people sleeping. It could be said, though, that a person’s body is “sleeping” while his soul is in paradise or Hades. At the resurrection, this body is “awakened” and transformed into the everlasting body a person will possess for eternity, whether in heaven or hell. Those who were in paradise will be sent to the new heavens and new earth (Revelation 21:1). Those who were in Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people—based entirely on whether or not a person trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Present-day defenders of soul sleep include the Seventh Day Adventist church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christadelphians, and others.

Stuart, a Seventh-day Adventist, intrigued by your comparison with the Mormons, I must say -)

Please don not take exception just take heed. I am posting this article below as I do not know if you know of the dangers about Seventh-day Adventist. I pray you read this and Heed to the warnings.

"What is Seventh-day Adventism (SDA) and what do Seventh-day Adventists believe?"

Answer: There seem to be different "degrees" of Seventh-day Adventism. Some Seventh-day Adventists believe identically to orthodox Christians, other than believing that worship should be held on Saturday and that the Saturday Sabbath should still be observed. If these are the only differences, then yes, a person could be a Seventh-day Adventist and still be a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

However, some Seventh-day Adventists believe in much more than a Saturday Sabbath / worship day. Seventh-day Adventists have been known to believe in: the annihilation of the wicked instead of an eternal hell, that believers who die enter a state of soul sleep, and that a person must observe the Saturday Sabbath in order to be saved. Other problems with some Seventh-day Adventists are: belief in Ellen G. White, the founder of Seventh-day Adventism, as a true prophet of God even though many of her "prophecies" failed to come true - and - that Jesus entered a second phase of His redemptive work on October 22, 1844, as "prophesied" by Hiram Edson.

So, What is Seventh-day Adventism and what do Seventh-day Adventists believe? Should a Christian attend a Seventh-day Adventist church? Due to the potential doctrinal issues mentioned above, I would strongly encourage believers to not get involved in Seventh-day Adventism. Yes, a person can be an advocate of Seventh-day Adventism and still be a believer. At the same time, there are enough potential issues to make attending a Seventh-day Adventist church questionable at best.

I had read with interest up to this page, but this does not seem to be Christ-like inquiry after The Truth. Shame because I had enjoyed some of the comments before this and wanted to join in on the Nephilim and specifically ask you your thoughts on the Council of Laodicia that removed the Book of Enoch (part of the Dead Sea Scrolls) and many others while simultaneously attacking the commanded Sabbath -- i.e. to what degree, therefore, can one trust the completeness of the bible they left us with traditionally?

I find much in the bible difficult to understand, which is why I love the simplicity of Rev. 12:17 describing in a nutshell what makes someone a Christian, for want of a better label given this "debate." When all the intellectualism is said and done, simply "...obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus." A bit of the Old, a bit of the New, inseparable as one would expect, cemented together through Time with love.

*I am stunned that “christians” carry on this way!!LOL!!"

Discerner s here don't pretend to be "Christians" (as you indicated - inverted comma's) neither are they trying to prove "Christians" wrong... but only that the bible is correct.

Mal 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Search for yourself.... keep on reading

You want to use the Law to protect those who trash the Gospel? Seriously?

You said:

imagine what the “fundamentalist” religions are saying!

Why, Martine, they are are saying exactly what you are saying: Law. Law. Law.

>> We all get to heaven, but not all stay there.

Really? Where do you plan on going after that?

>> Stop fighting, “who’s right. who’s wrong

Truth it truth. And Christians LOVE the TRUTH. For Jesus Christ is the TRUTH. If you don't care to want to know the truth then really...that's your problem eh?

>> am sorry to say but I do not agree with blogs like this, imagine what the “fundamentalist” religions are saying! Whew, satan comes in many disguises and reaches into every heart, he just needs a gap/(or a blog!).............

1) I don't care if you don't agree with me.

2) I think you need to take your own words and eat them. You accuse me of being wrong and this blog being satanic because you with your 3rd eye can't see love on this blog; so that would mean you are right and I am wrong... Yeah Satan does instead come in many disguises and is easily caught out when he contradicts himself.

>> It’s about time we find Christ in ALL things

Well then it's about time you find Jesus Christ the Son of God. And Christ is not in ALL things. If he was then your bed side lamp would be saved too.
