They tell you the message they are spreading is one of change, transformation. We have to under no uncertain terms create peace on earth – no uncertain terms. We need to save the earth, because we as a human race are going to be living in this world for a long, long time. And we can’t continue fighting amongst each other. The main culprit for all the conflict is religion. And the only way to fix this problem is to merge all the major faiths together. But they had to find the central common denominator of each religion to be able to unite them together…..”

In my reading of the Emerging Church I’m not sure how ONE WORLD RELIGION somehow equals Emerging Church. Dan Kimball, Scott McKnight and Burke are all from an emerging stream and do not teaching a ONE WORLD religiousity.
I think where we fail in our understanding (or perhaps misunderstanding or misreading of Emerging) is its place in current history. Like any other movement, it has both good and bad points….good leaders and ones that are better left not be read. (-:
The Word of Faith movement laid the foundation for the Emerging Church(es), which in their turn are working to unite all religions (including “christianity”)…
Just a couple of pointers:
-It is clear in their (the emergent’s) teachings that they do not believe in absolute truth (i.e. Bible as the only Word of God).
-Christianity is not believed to be the only faith and should not be seen as “superior” to other religions.
-In order to connect with God we should revert back to ancient worship formats/techniques/methods…
-They aim to make the world a better place… fact is – this world aint going to get better!
How do you explain a budhist woman, the dalai lama, desmond tutu and rob bell together on an interfaith seminar talking the same “language”. No mention of the Bible as such and also no mention of Jesus…?
That’s one emergent leader, I know! Kindly do yourself a favor and read what they (emergents) are teaching and you will find that they all speak the same “language”…
This movement is more dangerous than any other in the history of the Church, if you look at the Eschatology and the fallen state of the church.
Hope you are able to see through this cloud of deception…
Greetings
